Has anybody ever had their life flash before their eyes with a near miss?
I was driving today and a woman veered off the road from the opposite lane and was coming through the median at high speed right at me. http://images.bravenet.com/brpics/smilie/22_yikes.gif I was actually pretty calm and somehow had time to try and judge the angle that she was coming at me, trying to figure out if I could miss her by speeding up or braking. Luckily, she somehow halted to a complete stop just before getting to me. The area in the median was really wet and she bogged down just in time. Phewwwwww! http://www.soapchat.net/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Ok, Ive never had a near death experience, but people who have, say that their family is waiting at the other end for them. Did anyone watch Oprah yesterday when she interviewed Sharon Stone? She had a near death experience and saw the white light and family waiting for her at the other side.......When I hear this it makes me less afraid of dying although im still scared a little........ive always wondered if when you die, if you are still alive in the sense that you can still see and hear, just in soul form or if its like when you get put to sleep for surgery and its pitch black and your not even there, when i had my wisdom teeth removed, i was knocked out for a couple of hours, but when i woke up it felt like ten min. that is so weird.

Well, when my Dad died in the hospital, he got a really astonished look on his face and his head kept tipping back like he was watching something rise up...then he died peacefully. I definitely think it's possible.

Ok there's so much I want to say about this topic and so many that I want to quote. good topic Laurie.
So I will start by saying yes I believe someone(a loved one) comes for us when we die. And I have several references here goes.
In 1983 my grandma passed away. (And my grandpa that had passed away in 68 and my mom's brother passed in 78)Well paw paw and my uncle were standing in the hallway between my bedroom and my parents room looking in on my grandma. (She passed not even a week later)My little brother had saw this and later on told my mom that two men were there while she took the rest of us to get on the school bus. Mom freaked out thinking that a stranger had been on our house. She just couldn't figure it out. My dad talked to my brother asking what door did they come in and go out of, cause mom had the doors locked and he said,"they didn't come in the door daddy, I just sat up in bed and they showed up and looked at granny a while then went away." Daddy said," where did they go, in the living room, did they go outside? He said," no they just went away." And moved his hands like vanished or something. Then dad figured it out and asked what they looked like and he described in detail a tall skinny man with over-all's on and a short real fat man in a suit.(Which they were buried in) My little brother had never seen my grandpa (none of us had) nor my uncle that he was named after. But he pointed them out in an old photo album.
And not only that but when my grandma was on her death bed my mom was the only one with her that saturday night, and mom heard a voice saying,"Roxie it's time to come home now."
And when my dad's mom passed away the year b4 I was born, she told my aunt that she had saw my paw paw and she was going to be with him. She died the next day.
So yes I believe someone comes to get us. That gives me a peaceful feeling.

http://www.soapchat.net/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif You gave me chills. Actually, my young nephew said he saw his grandfather who had recently died in his room looking over him once. He was only 2 so he didn't know anything about ghosts to make up the story. My mother also swears that she heard my father's breathing the night after he died.
I swear I saw a ghost when I was 4 years old and even though I'm not a firm believer, there's definitely strange, unexplainable circumstances in life.

05-31-2004, 06:34 AM
I'm like you, I don't know if I believe in ghost the way some people think, But I do believe what my little brother said he was only 4.
I saw a damn ghost......someone with me saw that damn ghost.....and I ain't been back there in almost 20 years.....

My friend has a dog that comes to a complete stop and the hair stands up straight on its back every single time she walks him past an old Victorian style house nearby. The dog refuses to walk past it, so she has to pull and tug on the leash, just to get it to turn around. http://www.soapchat.net/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

Some one brought up a sixth sense thing. My mom's dad always said he would not live to see his grandchildren , although he was a healthy man when he was saying these things. He died just 2 months b4 my sister was born which would have been his first grandchild.
Gravy think's I'm just a witch, but I have had things happen to me all my life. About things that were going to happen, etc. I knew my mom's friend was going to die on a particular day when she wasn't expected to dies for another 3 weeks.
And I knew(when my dad's brother was dying) I was going to be the one that got the call beacause no one would be home,
I told my sister in law that was in labor for 6 days that my nephew was going to be born on her and my brother's anniversary, She gave birth to him on their anniversary, and no not by C section.
Too much stuff I can go on and on about.
