As I sat watching the Daytime Delight lineup today on SoapNet my mind got to working. I thought about the three main primetime bitches: Alexis, Abby, and Amanda...(Hey I just realized that all their names started with 'A'...hmmm...Anyway). I thought about what each did to achieve the term bitch and I realized that while Abby and Amanda were ruthless, they also had a heart to them as well, while Alexis just breathed bitch.
I say this because while watching episodes of KL and MP, I never saw Amanda or Abby do anything too drastic as Alexis did. While Abby schemed to get things her way, she still remained devoted to her daughter. I never saw Abby use her daughter as a pawn in her schemes. And Amanda...well she is all about herself and doesn't have anyone to answer to really. But Alexi has used her children, her lovers, and others to get what she wants. She is the most evil and conniving of all of the superbitches. Damn, I forgot about Angela Channing...(dang another 'A' name...) if Falcon Crest. I never saw FC, so I really can't count her...but what do you all think?
i love abby

Im sorry but Alexis was just way too cartoonish and I do love Amanda but she was just an underling. The real pro was Abby. Yes I said Abby. She had The Abby Scale afterall by which all other bitches were measured on. http://www.soapchat.net/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Plus you cant forget about Abby in the twins's kidnapping. That is why Donna Mills herself said something about the storyline.
I would like to add 2 characters that could have blossom more if the shows would have continued.
Carrie from Central Park West.
Peyton from Savannah.
Actually I loved Carrie a great deal.

Alexis never did anything but talk. She was too cartoonish and a big wimp. Even within her own show, you can Sabella who is a much more devious and realistic bitch. She would win my vote for Dynasty.
Overall out of the three...Abby would have to win for me. She meant business but she had a heart. You nevr knew what to expect, plus she was a smart woman.

True Alexis was all talk, buty she still radiated EVIL BITCH. A bitch is kinda the equivalent of a witch...they can be either good or bad. Abby was both while Amanda was kinda borderline. To me the most heinous thing Alexis did was shoot that gun so that Krystle could get thrown off the horse. Also, Abby WANTED money and power and I think she got it...(DAMN the university doesn't have SoapNet so that I could have kept up...) but Alexis wanted the money and the power and she got it and she wanted more...to me this is just as ruthless as it comes. No one got in her way, not even her own children or flesh and blood (Caress and Sable). And don't think that people who are all talk are not scary. Just because she lost all the catfights didn't mean that she wasn't an intimidating person. Alexis had the power to crush lives with the push of her finger to whatever the detonator may have been at the moment and to me to know that someone has the type of power to ruin your life by making one phone call or anything is really intimidating and scary. Abby had remorse for some of the things she did, for example the twins. I commended the writers for showing that, because it showed me that she had a soul of sorts and wasn't the total bitch that she is claimed to be. Abby and Alexis are big bitches, but to me Alexis is more ruthless and conniving than Abby. Ok here is my last reason why I say this...and someone correct if I am wrong please. When I watched Knots, I saw Abby in bitch mode with her enemies a lot more than she was with the KL residents. To me Abby didn't make it her agenda to crush people's lives. Alexis on the other hand...I want to quote what a comedienne said on E!'s 50 Most Wicked Women of Primetime special...."Alexis didn't go to bed at night ( or 'didn't go to sleep at night )without ruining at least one person's life."
To me that said it all...
I would like to add Constance Weldon Carlyle from "Flamingo Road" to the list.
The most villainous thing she ever did over the two years was at the end of the first season and beginning of season two. Her marriage to Field was on its last legs and he convinced her to sign divorce papers. But nope, what does she do? Pays the divorce attorney to draw up FAKE papers! So Field believes that they are finally divorced, and while taking refuge at Lute-Mae's Bar and Grill, Field comforts his mistress Lane after she is involved in a failed kidnap attempt. Constance refuses to let this happen, and Field questions "WHY?! We are divorced! Why do you have to ruin every chance of happiness that I've got!?" She is frustrated and tells him the truth. He's pissed and he pushes her over the stair railing.
She's paralyzed from the waist down, but could regain mobility soon. Field feels sorry and decides to cancel the real divorce and "make this marriage work." Constance is pleased, and when she regains mobility, she keeps it secret so Field won't run away with Lane. When he does find out, though, he stays married to her for her money.
I've told the story many times, but I could tell it over and over again! Damn I miss that show...
