Question About Trust...

Sup everyone. I have a question about whether or not that should trust my cousin/partner with my primetime drama/soap idea. I guess everyone or some of you have read my previous post about my idea for a new primetime drama/soap and I am very enthusiastic about it. I came up with the premise, characters, setting, and I have completed the first three seasons full of synopsis' and I have two spin-offs in the works. The problem lies within my cousin/partner who wants to help me get it on the air (which I am thankful for), but he wants to add characters and wants me to email all of my work to him...should I do it? I mean I want to work with him but I don't want him to completely take over cause I have put toooo much work in this and can't see it working in any other way, especially from someone who isn't deep into the classics such as Dynasty, Dallas, and Knots Landing. What do you all think? Am I whining for no apparent reason and being selfish or am I right?

First thing is to get a lawyer who can secure your work with all the copyright laws ect...

Then give it to him

Remember, even if it's your idea you won't always be calling the shots if you want it aired.

Thank you for your suggestions and I will try them. Abbylexis, I agree with you on the point you made about calling the shots. That's why I stopped writing at Season 4 cause I knew that the studios will tamper with it at some point or the other. I think tv writers should have a strike about that to show them that sometimes the studios themselves are the reason why shows get cancelled.

P.S. Abbylexis, you never said yes or no about writing on my show if it gets put on the air? I think you would bring good insight into it and will execute my ideas out probably better than I can.

Well I tried to give a little bit of advice but I see its unwanted and unappreciated so I'll never offer any advice again.
