In Dallas Gary was Ellie's favourite son and Bobby was the apple of Jock's eye. However what do you think is the case in Falcon Crest?

Who was the favourite of Angela and Douglas, out of their three children: - dippy Emma, psychotic Julia or shrewd Richard?

IMO it was Emma in both cases.

Interesting question. I think Angela was a better mother than Miss Ellie in that she didn't have favourites. She seemed to love both her daughters equally. I recall an episode when the Gustav Riebmann storyline came to an end. The lives of both Angela's daughters were at risk and and episode ended with Angela hugging both her children saying how glad she was to have them both with her. Richard was never going to be her favourite as she didn't have as long to bond with him.

I agree Douglas probably liked Emma the most because he felt Julia was too strongly intent on her son inheriting Falcon Crest and consequently too close to Angela.

I always got the impression that Angela looked down her nose at Emma. It was as though she wasn't good enough to be part of the family. Like a second rate citizen.
