The Painting!

I was watching todays UK episode (August 10th ) and noticed what looked like the painting, if it can be called that, used in the opening hanging on a wall in abbys house. It actually focused in on Charles but that blue, red and brown sure did look familiar. That reminds me, before Laura died, Laura and Greg went to buy that painting that Laura liked for about $35000, but before they bought it Laura found the other one that cost $450, and Greg asked the women at the till if he could pay $35000 for it, OK, I know that it was a sad time for them, and he wanted Laura to have whatever she wanted, and I know that they were rich enough to do that, but no one would pay that much more for a painting that was worth only $450, or would they?

In regards to the painting Laura and Greg bought at the gallery, they bought the cheaper painting at the higher price because a) they could--they're loaded; and b) Laura knew that the artist would get really good buzz if he sold a painting to *the* Greg Sumner. Laura saw it as a means of helping some anonymous painter (whose work she admired) to get his career in gear, to "get discovered".

Later, we will see the splashy painting hanging in the living room, and he will have a bit of a tiff with Paige when she moves it.
It's a nice way of keeping some continuity to the story.
