Methanol !!!

I know this is a long time ago (about 7 or 8 seasons ago on the UK run), ut whatever happened about the methanol business.

This was the business that put Gary and Abby together. For many episodes, Gary and Abby went to countless meetings and business trips for the methanol business. After Gary got caught to be having an affair with Abby by Val. I never heard a mention of it again!

This was before Gary inherited his initial $10 million. This thread was never resolved in my eyes, and unless I missed a episode (which I'm sure I didn't), this represents one of the biggest plot holes in KL.

Any people on this board know what happened?

To put it bluntly, the writers lost interest.

It was no longer necessary to have that business venture bring Abby and Gary together, and with Sid no longer around to act as Abby's conscience, she didn't have any restrictions placed on her scandalous behavior. Plus, it got lost in the changeover between two seasons. Try as they did to keep the stories seamless from one season to another, there are abandoned plots in the series. They were not as evident when there was a four-month hiatus between seasons in the original run, but in strip syndication you see it a lot. Over the summer, they came up with a way to tie Jock's Dallas death into KL stories (and make Gary rich), as well as the Val-becomes-overnight-best-selling-author plot.
