Has anyone else noticed that Abby is the only character to have her own in-program theme tune. It usually comes in scenes where Abby is scheming or feeling triumphant. It came a lot in Friday's episode 'Phoenix Rises'.

Phoenix Rises was an excellent episode and the title of the episode fitted like a glove. In the previous episode - Abby took one hell of a lot of knocks. In this ep she clambered her way back up to the top with style.

Must be said - originally - I didn't think much of Abby. Thought she was just an opportunist and a gold-digger. As the seasons have progresses, she has become so much more. A master-manipulator almost on-par with JR and her wicked smile is a joy to behold.

I shall now have to listen for her theme too. Can't believe I haven't noticed it TBQH.

Sid.

I dunno if she has her own theme, but each major character really should. Music adds so much to a movie or TV show, and the show should have developed a piece to fit the personality of Gary, Val, Mack, Sumner et al. Think of your favorite movies and then try to think of the score. If it's a great flick I can guarantee it's got some hot tunes as well!!! Every time I watch THE OMEN, it's Jerry Goldsmith's score that really throws it over the top!

Each character having their own theme kind of boxes the show in, so I understand why Knots didn't do it (while Dynasty did). In season 8 of Dynasty, when we were STILL hearing the "Alexis is evil" theme that debuted back in season 2, it just accentuated the fact that they were doing the same storyline over and over.

Actually, I used to think many characters had their own piece of incidental music that seemed to be reserved for various characters and situations.

For example, the music used during "Long & Winding Road" ended up being used for many of Valene's scenes in Season Seven such as the conclusion to the babies' storyline, the story where Val freaked out because Gary was giving the twins their share in 'Empire Valley' and then Val & Gary's reunion in "Flight Of The Sunbirds".

Laura inherited Sid's theme in Season Nine when she and Val reconciled prior to her death. This theme dominated Episodes 200 and 201 during her wake even acting as a variation to the original Knots Landing theme at the end of this two parter. Years later it was used in Season 13 - and while it was concentrated on Val & Karen's friendship, Laura was being used quite frequently in the Knots story around that time...

There was also the various pieces of tricky, devilish style music reserved for the Anne/Claudia scenes in Season 12 and lets not forget 'Linda's Theme' used only the once I believe but it sure made a lasting impact!

Does anyone know how I can reach Donna Mills? My 10 year daughter is attending Barbizon. I have no idea if she would even be available, it would be a real treat if she could meet her. Donna is a relative of ours, but I have not met her.

Thanks,

And to bring this thread full circle, Abby, fittingly enough, inherited Linda's theme in Back to the Cul-de-sac.
