View Full Version : Fantasy Knots Landing
Knots Man

Now that the mini series has been screened here in the UK, our thoughts will probably be focusing on if and when there will be a second mini series in the pipeline. Although some sources from this forum suggest that this is indeed the case, I thought it would be fun for us to share our thoughts on what would make the ideal reunion mini series! So, here are my ideas on what the next mini series ought to contain. David Jacobs take note...
It would star (in alphabetical order):
Lorenzo Caccialanza
William Devane
Kevin Dobson
Stacy Galina
Brian Austin Green
Julie Harris
Michele Lee
Donna Mills
Michelle Phillips
Ted Shackelford
Joan Van Ark
With Special Guest Appearances by:
Tonya Crowe, Pat Petersen and ... Constance McCashin!!!
The above fantasy Cast would give some indication of the storyline. Nick would return for some more blackmail and intrigue with Anne, They could use Laura in some capacity - even if it's just to see another unseen Last Will & Testament Videotape. Old age could force Lilimae to return home and stay with Val & Gary - providing us with some more great comedy scenes and heart to heart scenes with Val! I thought the main storyline ought to involve the whole cast in the same way that Wolfbridge and Treadwell did - this was Knots Landing at it's best for me, and just to stir things up a little, Gary could embark on another affair with Kate causing more misery for Val. Joan Van Ark was at her best playing a troubled, tormented Val and this would be the ideal story to cause that misery. Think of the friction this would also cause between Brian, Abby and Gary. Greg could even get involved too! There would also need to be lots of Karen/Val scenes, Greg/Abby scenes and of course Anne/Nick scenes (without Nick, Anne was lost in the first mini series).
In addition to all the above stories, I think they should use another Lotus Point style business location where Gary, Abby and Karen could be partners again. Greg should also return to his womanising ways - he was too tame in the first mini series!
Also, they could introduce a Star Guest in the same mould of Michael York to stir things up a little more and the most important (off screen) development of all would be to bring back Lynn Marie Latham and Bernard Lechowick as the chief writers! They were the best scriptwriters that Knots ever had...
Anyway that's me for now - I'm sure I'll be back with more ideas later...
Karen

Good ideas, there Knots Man.
Maybe Constance McCashin would return as a ghost and would haunt Abby - she hated her. I'm sure she'd turn in her grave if she knew he married Abby albeit just for business.
Greg would have to return to his former self - he was too tame in the reunion. Perhaps another Linda Fairgate character type would come along and side track him from his shady dealings.
Gary would no doubt stray from the fold again, being quite weak one way or another.
Karen and Val would still be bosom buddies.
Perhaps the kids (Betsy, Bobby and Meg) would have their own little storylines depending on what age they would be.
I'll keep thinking...

great subject knotsman
i would like to see alec baldwin return as joshua.maybe joshua could have survived the fall from the roof of that biulding in the fall of 85 andreturn to the show in a wheelchair to terrorise lisa hartman. that would be cool.
Knots Man
03-25-2001, 02:31 PM
Love the idea Joshua! Just think, Alec Baldwin could be the Star Guest I spoke about - he was the perfect villain and that would save the producers from having to bring in an 'outside' name. This should give the producers Food for Thought!!!
Cathy
03-26-2001, 08:42 AM
I would love to see Lisa Hartman involved in the next mini series. Cathy was my all time favourite character and I think it would be good if she could return with Ben. It could turn out that Ben never went to South America but instead went to be reunited with Cathy a year after she headed off on her 'tour'. Think of the mayhem that would cause!
Richard Brown
03-26-2001, 11:23 AM
I too think that bringing back Alec Baldwin as Joshua would be a real coup for the show however I think bringing him back in a wheelchair would be a little far fetched. Instead they should bring him back as a Ghost to haunt Cathy if she returned like the above reader suggested.
I agree that bringing back Latham and Lechowick would be a good move for the show. They could write lots of Sumner Group stories and scenes. They could also bring back Mort and Bob - the finest double act that Knots ever had!
Bob: A bunch of us are going for some Thai food tonight if you wanna come?
Mort: I'll pass - forgot to set my VCR. Gotta see what Corbin Bernsen's wearing tonught...
Richard Brown
03-27-2001, 11:39 AM
They should definetely bring back Mort and Bob - the 12th Series would have been nothing without the Sumner Group scenes and Mort and Bob were at the centre of all the scenes. It was like a soap within a soap.
Karen
03-28-2001, 12:54 AM
Maybe Karen would have a drunken rendevous with Greg Sumner, she would end up pregnant by him and would be terrified to tell Mack after all the things she said about him being untrustworthy, a liar, etc
Wow that would be some storyline....

I'd like to see Tonya Crowe have a bigger role in the second mini series as she had a powerful chemistry with Donna Mills during their scenes together on the first Knots run.

My head is buzzing with ideas for a future mini series. Perhaps we can all discuss these ideas in the chatroom!

You may or may not have already noticed that there is a forum for the "Get Dallas Back" campaign.
I wonder if there is anything that we could do to get something going for another KL reunion...

I would love to meet up with the rest of you for a chat as my head is full of weird and wonderful ideas. Why don't we arrange a time?

Ooops! I've just noticed that a time has been arranged for tomorrow (Sunday) at 3pm GMT.

While driving up to Scotland from the Metro Centre in Newcastle today, I had another brainwave which I thought I'd share with you all just in the off chance I don't get to join you all in the chatroom tomorrow afternoon.
How about this for a storyline...
It's November 2002 - and both Bobby & Betsy Ewing are celebrating their 18th Birthday. Then, an investigation into illegal child adoption (taking place on the other side of town) reveals that Bobby and Betsy are not actually Val's kids!!! It turns out that the babies adopted by the Fisher's (whose home half the cast descended upon during the Season 6 finale), were not the Ewing babies atall and on top of all this, the actual real life son and daughter belonging to Gary & Val turn up at the 18th Birthday Party to confront their real parents for the first time!
What are Val & Gary to do???
Bet you that would have us all tuning into Part Two...
Richard Brown

Great idea Knotsman - it's a wonder you didn't crash your car with all those stories spinning around in your head.

Don't worry - I really am a safe driver. Besides after listening to all those depressing 'Foot And Mouth' headlines on the Car Radio for 2 hours, I had to cheer myself up somehow!

Another good storyline, Knots Man.
There is a posting in the Ultimate Dallas forum about a storyline for the 3rd Dallas Re-union
It has been suggested that all the Ewing grand children meet up - of course Bobby and Betsy would have to be included.

It would be really cool if they killed Miss Ellie or something and had a joint Dallas/Knots Landing reunion.

i think the story about val and gary's kids not being there's is brilliant as i always thought it may just be possible they had found the wrong babies. I have just found this website and can't believe i have not discovered you all before.

Knots Man - you are definitely in the wrong profession...
Ever thought about changing?
You could submit a storyline for a second re-union and see what happens..

I'm glad you approve Karen! The favourite part of each Knots Season for me was the Season Finale Cliffhanger and I loved the way Knots used to tie all their stories up in knots intertwining each story with each other. My all time favourite Knots story was the one with Val's babies and I'm glad that was the story that catapulted Knots to the top of the US ratings as it kinda gave that story the recognition it deserved. I have a bunch of similar stories up my sleeve that I think would be good on a future reunion show though the problem is we would need much more than 4 hours to feature such stories - you can't tell a good story in 4 hours. Never mind though...

How about Harold goes back to his gangster ways, Olivia ends up like the Sharon Stone part in Casino, on drugs and booze and dodgy blokes and ends up killing someone (preferably Harold). Abby has to use her connections to get her out of jail and gets revenge for turning her daughter into a cokehead again.
We could probably do with something horrible happening to a cast member on the opening credits - although a humbling disfigurement or disability might be more interesting than bumping them off.
Am I the only person who fancied Ben - bring him back definitely - or at least finish him off properly.
I also thought there was scope for one or two of the baddies to re-appear - such as Ted Melcher. The bad guys in the mini-series were dreadful.
Also, it's been a while since I logged in - but no one seems to have noticed the continuity error in the first part of the mini-series with Val by the pool. For a start it wasn't her in the rear view shots (not skinny or old enough) and when that scriptwriter creep tried to kiss her and then jumped in the pool you got another rear shot of her wearing some bloke's shirt over her swimsuit.
Anyway, can't wait for the re-runs - mini-series cram too much in to be believable. It took a whole series or longer for the best plots to unfold, and they tried to do that in an hour. The Karen and Mack fall-out was particularly gratuitous and for the first time I actually wanted them to split up and get on with it.
Better get back to work folks - keep this website alive!!

Cathy returning and having a fling with Gary would be good. I think resurrecting Joshua would be going a bit too far. How about Ben returning from South America and leaving Val torn between fighting Cathy for Gary and getting back with Ben? *Bobby gets Meg pregnant?!* That'd be interesting to see the reactions of Val and Karen, especially if one of them thought she should keep the baby and the other thought she should have an abortion or have the baby adopted. Greg could be involved a lot too, albeit in a different type of storyline as usual. Paige could return with the child Greg never knew he had fathered. This is great fun...I could go on forever! http://www.soapchat.net/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

I'd say we have enough ideas on the forum already for a colourful enough reunion - it would be great even if they could produce a 15th Season! Just 13 episodes long so that Knots Landing can beat Dallas in terms of actual episodes screened and be the OUTRIGHT Second longest running primetime drama ever!
I don't suppose anyone knows a contact name of who we can submit all these ideas to???

I think it would be great if they made a 13 part series as I thought that everything was crammed into 4 hours on the mini series.
Having read some postings on the forum of late, i definetely think that they ought to bring back Claudia when they do the next reunion movie - she was one character that they definetely missed in the first reunion.

Over in the UD forum we are firing on all cylinders in an attempt to get Dallas re-born, either in the form of a 3rd sequel or a 5-part mini series (just like the way it started). We will not be resting on our laurels, until we get what we want.
Various letters, faxes, phone calls, e-mails have been made to CBS & the Dallas stars, suggesting what we want. I even done the most eccentric thing & sent oil cans to Les Moonves, the gaffer @ CBS, to see if that would prompt anything. Pressure is the key to our success. I suggested we should take GDB to the tabloaids & run a large peice on what we are doing. That may be a go'er. http://www.soapchat.net/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif
So Knots Man u & the other KL fan stalwarts u should approach Pamela, about getting a forum up & running for a 'Get KL Back Campaign'. I would imagine she could pull a few strings for ya!
BTW Karen is 100% correct u are in the wrong profession. Those outlines for another show are top notch & in my book should not be dismissed too easily. They are fantastic. http://www.soapchat.net/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif
I will be thinking of a few options myself for another Knots show.
U will be the first to hear! http://www.soapchat.net/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I think another reunion (especially in serial form) would be a great idea and I also think that the response to this topic says it all - I'm new to this site and have spent the last 2 days viewing dozens of posts from various fans and I don't think any other topic has raised this much interest as the amount of replies to this topic has been amazing. So lets get the message to the powers that be - BRING BACK KNOTS LANDING!!!!!

I got carried away with the last posting and forgot to mention that I too think that they should bring back Ben adn Cathy. Judging by the interview Lisa Hartman gave on the block party I think she'd be keen to come back as she seems to have close ties with the show's main cast members. In my book there would be no greater story than a double love triangle between Gary/Cathy/Val and Val/Ben/Gary.
Richard Brown
04-22-2001, 06:36 AM
They ought to bring the show back and bring it back with lots of new episodes. Even another mini series with more than two episodes - like an 8 hour mini series. Why not? They did it with The Thorn Birds.
Jock Og
04-22-2001, 07:42 AM
I agree! To get anything with some substance in it we need a longer sequel, as u said 4 2hour parts would fit the bill but better still another series, as Karen suggested. Now that would be magic! http://www.soapchat.net/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
Nevertheless if it going to be 2No. 2 hour sequel parts then it would be better than nothing at all.
Time will tell! http://www.soapchat.net/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

As well as bringing back Cathy and Ben, they could also bring back Paige and Tom. Joseph Gian is very sexy and I'm sure Paige would appeal to all the male viewers as Lisa Hartman must be getting on now.

Thanks for the vote of confidence Jock! I've got a really hectic week ahead of me, however I'll try and get a chance to write a first draft script and if everyone approves, then perhaps we can take our ideas to someone...
P.S. Glad to see this topic is still raising renewed interest - topics like this will I'm sure get the series back on television soon...

I've just returned from a pleasant evening at the pub watching a football match and the last thing I want is to see some squabbling going on - especially when I'm in the middle of it!
As I said this afternoon, I'll try and fit some time in to writing all my ideas down to make up what I think would make the ideal reunion movie. If the rest of you like my ideas or want to add/amend/change these ideas if you can come up with anything better, then feel free to do so, and if the rest of you (like Jock kindly thought so earlier) think we can do something with my suggestions, then we can send them off somewhere to be looked at...

Is the script nearly ready Knots Man? I've been logging on nearly ecery night for the last 2 weeks hoping to catch a fresh new dose of my favourite show. Hopefully you'll come up with something more original and less far fetched than the ridiculous KL Reborn. Val quite simply would not be so interesting if she wasn't suffering in some way or another. She was boring during the first reunion as the so called 'trauma' they put her through was mediocre. Like someone said beforehand JVA was at her best when Val was suffering. I say make her suffer plenty.

Thought I'd let you all know that if you log onto the net tonight by around 8 pm, then I should have loaded all of the first episode on by then. I can't do it this afternoon as I am off to see a local football match that a mate of mine is playing in.
I do hope that you all like the 4 episodes - my own personal favourite is the last episode which has lots going on in it (and will take absolutely ages to type in). Episode One is more of a scene setter and episodes 2 & 3 are a little drawn out. However the cliffhangers at the end and the major plot developments occur during this period in the story so it is absolutely essential that everyone tunes in.
I'll post all new episodes under the 'Fantasy Knots Landing' topic (this topic) so that if anyone from Hollywood does get to hear of our little project, then he/she will get to read everyone else's ideas too!
Seeya all later for the BIG premiere......

The reunion begins with the Ewing family returning from Dallas following the death of Ellie Ewing. Lilimae (who has been living with Gary & Val since Al's death 2 years prior), is there to welcome them home. She has prepared dinner - though Gary dosen't feel like eating. Val tells Lilimae that Gary is a little down after learning he has inherited some land close to Southfork in Ellie's Will. Lilimae advises Val to go up & see Gary - this she does. Val learns that Gary does not want the land or any ties to Dallas and would rather sell the "damn land". Val then advises Gary to follow his heart, sell the land and construct something that his mother would've been proud of right here in California with the money. The pair then kiss...
The following day at Gary's construction office, Abby drops in to pay her respects to her ex mother-in-law. The pair are surprisingly civil to each other and Gary pours his heart out (though to a far lesser extent) to Abby. Abby is blunt and asks Gary what he gained from Ellie's inheritance. "Some stupid land - worth millions" is Gary's reply. Gary admits that this time, he dosen't feel atall ambitious - unlike the inheritance he received from his father or Paul Galveston even. Abby on the other hand is excited...
Karen has returned to the TV Chat Show circuit & after taping an episode based on age descrimination, she comments to her producer Tony on how ironic that today of all days this topic is discussed as Karen is celebrating her 60th Birthday today! Tony congratulates her though Karen is somewhat reflective...
Karen then returns home to a surprise 60th Birthday Party with her family & friends all gathered. Michael, his wife and son Sydney are all present as is Jason, Meg, Mack and Diana (along with her new husband Karl! All the neighbours are gathered too.
At the party:
Bobby & Betsy tell Meg they are having an 18th Birthday Party next week.
Karen thanks Lilimae for the buffet she made.
Kate tells Gary she is coping following the end of her marriage from Brian - who left her. Gary gives her money for Molly & her son BJ. Val however sees this...
Mack sees Karen on the back lawn thinking & checks on her. Karen insists though that she is simply tired.
Val however heads out to check on Karen and complains to Karen on how tired she is of Gary's ties with Molly. Karen however is staring into space, and does not hear a single word Val is saying. She reveals to Karen that this time she is going through the mid life crisis. She feels old, useless, depressed and un-attractive etc... Val tells her that's nonsense & reminds her that she is almost 60 herself. They joke about winding up as the 'Golden Girls' of Knots Landing sitting around in wigs cracking one liners...
END OF ACT ONE!
Knots Man
05-06-2001, 10:18 AM
Several days later, Mack is in his office reading an article on 'illegal child adoption' in the 'Knots Landing Tribune'. This catches his attention.
Anne meanwhile is living in her own flat on the other side of town when the doorbell goes. It's NICK SCHILLACE! Not surprisingly, he receives a cold welcome from Anne, however Anne is lonely this weather and after a few compliments from lover boy, she soon softens. Anne lets him stay and tells him he is sleeping on the sofa - several scenes later though, he is back in her bed!!!
Nick is not the only one broke - we learn in a scene between Abby & her Bank Manager that funds are dwindling fast...
Val pops into Karen's for a break from all the party preparations (due to take place the following day). Karen though is still feeling depressed & declines an invitation to help Val & Lilimae with the party. Val comments on how Greg did not make Karen's 60th despite being invited. Karen thinks she knows the reason why...
Because Greg is hiding out in a quiet corner of his ranch locked away watching one of Laura's farewell tapes. The reason for his actions is to do with the fact that we are just several days away from the 15th Anniversary of Laura's death! In the tape (which is new to the audience), Laura tells Greg not to give up following her death or to blame himself for any wrongdoings during their marriage. She also advises him to "do the right thing" with regards to Meg's future. Could this have been the inspiration behind Greg's decision to give Meg away to Karen & Mack???

05-06-2001, 10:36 AM
The following day, Karen's boss Tony also notices her depression and invites her round to his flat after work for a drink. Surprisingly, she accepts...
Meanwhile back at the house, Mack & Meg are on their way out the door to the twins' Birthday Party when Jason arrives at the door. He is on his way back to Chicago and wanted to say "goodbye" to him & Karen before he left. Mack apologises on behalf of Karen saying how she must've got caught up at work. Jason tells how he & Julie Williams are now married with 2 kids. He also tells of how Frank re-married a lawyer he worked beside. Mack tells him how pleased he is that his life worked out - Jason thanks Mack for being the one to help give him the start in life that his father never gave him. The pair hug man to man.
Karen meanwhile sits pouring her heart out to her boss Tony on how she feels now that she has turned 60. Tony tells her that she is an attractive woman and that she shouldn't be feeling any of these things atall! Karen thanks him for the compliments and asks how he never married. Tony explains how his wife died 5 years ago and he never re-married. Instead he just threw himself into his work. Karen sympathises with him and is feeling relaxed. So relaxed that she ends up kissing Tony! She does however stop when she remembers about the twins' 18th Birthday Party. Tony however convinces her to stay a while longer - no one will even notice she is gone. The pair start kissing again...
Mack meanwhile is waiting for Karen to turn up at the party. He asks Meg who is adamant that she hasn't yet seen her.
Val meanwhile is busy embarressing Bobby in front of his girlfriend as she & Lilimae remember him as a baby...
Mack tells Gary that Karen hasn't been herself lately...
While Lilimae arrives from the kitchen of the hotel where the party is being held with a cake. The whole hall sing "Happy Birthday" to the twins. Meanwhile at the back of the hall, we see 2 teenagers emerging and making their way to the Ewing family. They are not friends of Betsy or Bobby, but claim they are indeed the real life son & daughter of Gary & Val.
What are Gary & Val to do???

Delighted to see that the long awaited reunion scripts I've been promising for weeks have been a resounding success. I'm sure that if you all liked what happened in tonight's episode, then you'll all love the goings on in tomorrow's double bill.
Richard - Just to let you know I tried the mouse thing again and it does work! I found myself getting all excited again and I wrote the bloody thing! P.S. Sorry I've upset your wife. Is she a Mack fan???
Niamh - Glad to see you approved of me casting Mark Harmon on the show. I was trying to think of a star name that would appeal to all middle aged women viewers and the 2 that sprang to mind were George Clooney & Mark Harmon. Due to the fact I thought Clooney would consider himself too famous to appear on Knots, I opted for Mark Harmon in the end.
Jock - "Strawberries & Cream" stuff ? If you carry on praising me any more, then my head will just get too big. Glad you enjoyed it man!
Pauline - I'm sorry to tell you, but Jason will not be appearing in my version of the reunion again. Still hopefully the real powers that be will notice your enthusiasm to feature him on the real thing.
Karen & Meg - Yes I have made Karen a bad girl (and it's all thanks to your brilliant idea last week Karen Mackenzie). How bad she gets, I'm not saying - you'll just have to tune in and see. However that particular story will take a few twists & turns before the finale!
Just to confirm tomorrow's airtimes, you can all expect the first part to be loaded on by mid afternoon, and the second part to be loaded on by around 8pm - just like tonight! All times are of course in GMT for the benefit of our American & International forum friends.
Seeya all tomorrow...

Wish me luck.........
Knots Man
05-07-2001, 01:47 AM
Ellie Ewing is dead! And Gary has found himself in the uncomfortable position of owning Southfork Land - Land he dosen't want to own! Val wants him to sell and create something HE will find worthwhile to himself. Abby just wants him to sell...
Karen is going through a mid life crisis on her 60th Birthday. Not even the arrival of Michael, Sydney (her grandson), Diana or Jason can bring her out of her depression. It's then when she gets closer to her boss Tony Reynolds...
Greg too finds himself depressed - on the eve of the 15th Anniversary of Laura's death. We find him viewing a new batch of tapes Laura left for him & Meg before her death indicating that it was HER idea to give Meg to the Mackenzie's...
Meanwhile Nick Schillace is back in town - BROKE!!!
We discover that Abby too is broke - well, down to her last few millions. She's in need of some cash injection, and seems to be eyeing up Gary's new found inheritance...
Karen then finds herself embarking on an affair with Tony Reynolds - missing the twins' 18th Birthday Party...
And at the party itself (just days after news breaks about an investigation into illegal child adoption), the real life son & daughter of Gary & Val arrive to meet their real parents. What are Gary & Val to do???
And so.....
Knots Man
05-07-2001, 02:23 AM
Back at the Ewing household, there are arguments aplenty as Val & Gary confront their real life son & daughter 'Shannon' & 'Howard'! Bobby has headed off back to his girlfriend's while Betsy is upstairs in her room being consoled by Lilimae. The real twins claim that they are adopted and were given Val's name & address after making enquiries about their real parents. Val asks what proof they have - they have none - then tells the 2 frightened teenagers that they can't walk into people's homes making accusations like this. Howard whispers to Shannon "guess this is what Mum mean't when she said this wasn't a good idea huh?". Gary is livid with the teenagers although he isn't discounting the possibility of this being true either. He asks the kids their blood type and not surprisingly they don't know. But they do provide the name of their Doctor & Medical Center so that Gary & Val can have this information checked out. Both Val & Gary are worried by this as they come to the frightening conclusion that both these kids may have been the twins taken from them exactly 18 years prior. Just to make matters worse, Howard tells Gary that the car (parked in Val's driveway) was an 18th Birthday present from his mom & dad which he received TODAY!!!
Upstairs meanwhile, Lilimae consoles Betsy who is distraught telling her that these 2 kids have just gotten mixed up. Betsy claims that people don't make mistakes like that - there's gotta be some truth in it. Lilmae is sure things will work themselves out and just hopes it is sooner rather than later...for Val's sake!
Karen returns home from her evening with Tony nipping quietly into the house with her shoes off. As she attempts to creep upstairs with the shoes in her hand, Mack emerges from the kitchen with a half drunk mug of coffee in his hand asking "Where were you all night?"...
After the so called real twins' departure, Gary & Val argue when Gary tells Val they better face up to the fact that these kids have "something concrete". Val is livid and assures Gary that there is no way in the world those kids belong to her. Gary then rhymes off a list of coincidences such as them having blonde hair, knowing Bobby & Betsy's real birth dates and being so generous with the blood type information, Family GP & Medical Center addresses - they even have cute little "All American" names, not forgetting the fact they were actually given Val's name by the adoption agency. Oh they have something concrete all right!!! Gary storms upstairs leaving Val on her own downstairs in the living room - pathetically alone...
Meanwhile Karen is busy in the kitchen telling Mack how she got caught up at work. Taping went on far later than normal due to a guest not appearing on time and in the end, Tony & her grabbed a bite later due to the fact they'd not eaten all day! To make matters worse, her mobile phone is on the blink. "So you & Tony grabbed a bite?" is Mack's reply. "MACK" replies an annoyed Karen. Mack then enquires about whether or not he should feel threatened by Tony till Karen laughs off such a suggestion! Mack then proceeds to tell Karen all about events at the party - Karen is stunned replying "Poor Val". Her instant reaction is that something isn't quite right and the pair agree to get on the case in the morning...
END OF ACT ONE
Knots Man
05-07-2001, 02:46 AM
Bobby returns home from his girlfriend's at 2am. Val is waiting up for him and the pair sit and have a long chat where Val tells Bobby that whatever happens, both he & Betsy will always be her babies. Bobby asks if Val is his mum? "Of course" is Val's reply. Bobby asks how can she be so sure? Val tells him that there is a bond between a mother & her kids that can never be broken and she has felt that bond ever since the moment they were born. The pair hug...
However once Bobby heads up to bed, Val sits alone in the lounge and as she closes her eyes, soon she remembers flashbacks of that moment in the delivery room when the kids were born...
Over breakfast the following morning, Lilimae tells Gary she is worried about Val's mental state. Gary is sure she'll be fine though - she is a lot stronger nowadays and he dosen't envisage her running off to Shula, Tennessee again...
Anne meanwhile receives a mystery letter in the post...
Mack arrives at work and gets Peggy onto the adoption case claiming it's time to sort the bad guys out once and for all!
At work the following morning, Karen asks Tony not to read too much into what happened last night. Unlike Jeff Cameron though, Tony dosen't expect anything to happen and tells Karen not to feel guilty about anything - all they did was talk! Karen insists the reason she feels guilty is because she didn't talk to Mack about her problems...
Gary, Val & Mack meanwhile meet up with Howard and Shannon's Doctor to obtain blood types. The doctor is prepared for them telling how she already has authorisation from the twins' parents to give out such information. Gary, Val & Mack all look at each other...
Anne meanwhile arrives at the ranch to tell Greg that Paige sent her a letter this morning - she is getting married to Tom Ryan as the pair met up after 9 years apart recently. Greg however has little time to react to the news when Abby arrives asking to speak with Greg in private. After exchanging pleasantries (NOT) with Anne, Abby proceeds to tell Greg all about what happened at last night's party. She is worried that her involvement in the twins' kidnapping 18 years ago will be revealed now that the real twins have arrived on the scene. Gerg jokes with Abby that she may just see the inside of prison yet!
(THE PAIR ARE UNAWARE THAT ANNE IS SITTING IN GREG'S OFFICE WATCHING THEIR LITTLE CONVERSATION ON THE CCTV CAMERA)
END OF ACT TWO
Knots Man
05-07-2001, 03:10 AM
After watching the conversation in full, Anne snatches the tape of the recording and replaces it with a new tape in the VCR before hurrying out of the ranch - with the CCTV tape in her bag!!!
Karen arrives at Mack's office, and is told by Peggy that he went to meet up with the GP to obtain blood types - Gary & Val picked him up about half an hour ago. Karen however dosen't want wasting any time so heads off somewhere...
Karen tries the 'human approach', and after obtaining the fake twins' address from Lilimae, goes to see their mother who claims that they approached the adoption agency after the twins started making enquiries about their real parents. Both she & her husband Don wanted this information to be kept from their kids, however the twins were insistent to say the least. That was when they approached the adoption agency who gave them Val's address. Karen is then given the name of the lady at the agency...
However when she visits the agency that day, she learns that Barbara - the agency employee has now emigrated!!!
Karen then calls Mack with this information...
Anne meanwhile shows the CCTV tape to Nick. Nick is jubilant with what he sees describing Anne as a "little genius". The pair then get to work on their latest 'get rich quick' scheme...
That night, the adoption agency Karen visited is mysteriously broken into...
While Abby makes a mystery phonecall telling the person on the other line that their company is "needed NOW"...
Val & Gary arrive home after spending the afternoon walking and talking about their problems. Karen & Lilimae are waiting for them as they give them the news that the twins have their blood type! Mack then arrives - having just had the adoption agency turned over. He tells them that Val's file is MISSING! Knowing how hard it will be to prove their case, Gary resigns himself to the fact that they will lose the twins. Val is physically sick meanwhile - suffering another one of her flashbacks. At that point, Val heads out alone - claiming she needs some air. Lilimae dosen't want her to go, but Val is adamant. Karen tells Lilimae to let her go...
A short while later, Val arrives at the beach and sits watching the waves crash against the rocks. Then a stranger turns up - it is none other than BEN!!!

Hmmm, one thing. Wouldn't Gary, Val and the twins (either set!) have just had a DNA test, rather than a blood test? They are pretty quick now I believe and widely used in the States (See Jerry Springer for details!). Now that could be a further twist...Val is their mother, but Gary is not the father!
And Ben GREAT! Just what I wanted to see! I think Gary and Val would need a bigger wedge between them for her to fall back into Ben's arms though.
Good work Knots Man, look forward to 8 o'clock!
Knots Man
05-07-2001, 09:01 AM
Don't worry Pauline - I had already thought of DNA results proving the paternity of the twins. However, I have a much more interesting way of finding out who really mothered & fathered the twins so let's just assume that the DNA results will take a few days to come through - whether this would be the case in real life is another matter. However due to the fact that Episode 3 is going to take place all throughout the one night anyway, then I'm sure there would not be a quicker way of obtaining DNA results.
Good thought though - nice to see you're on the ball!

Once again folks, here goes with another exciting installment from everyone's favourite cul de sac...
DUM DUM DUM DUM DUM................
Knots Man
05-07-2001, 09:22 AM
Val & Gary have been confronted with the awful truth that Bobby & Betsy may not be their's...
Karen's 'affair' with Tony is presently on hold as she helps Mack investigate the adoption scandal.
Anne has overheard Greg & Abby discuss their interest in the Ewing babies case. Anne therefore has stolen the CCTV tape with the conversation all recorded - both her & Nick are plotting their next move...
As Val & Gary wait for DNA confirmation of whether or not the twins belong to them, Val (going outta her mind) nips off to the beach for some peace & tranquility. There, she meets Ben...
And so...
Knots Man
05-07-2001, 09:41 AM
Down at the beach, Val is stunned as she sees Ben for the first time in 15 years! His hair is a lot greyer now and obviously he has aged. However, it is still the same old Ben. Ben explained that he never died in South America though did come close to death. He never found Jean Hackney either, however it was when he was trying to track her down that his light aircraft crashed into a jungle. Ben was seriously injured, and as a result lost several years of his life due to amnesia in the late 1980's. He did however re-discover his talent for journalism and returned to LA three years ago working his way up the ladder. Now he's back in charge of PWC's News Department - a job which he loves!!!
Back at the Mackenzie's, Karen & Mack have arrived home for the night. Karen is frantic with worry for Val. How must she be feeling - knowing that these kids that she thought she'd given birth to, then raised watching them go through school & then college, forming relationships etc only to be told they may not belong to her. How awful - at this point Karen receives a big hug from Mack as she fears for her friend...
Back at the beach meanwhile, Val is embarking on a journey into her past. She learns that Ben is still in love with her. However by the time he had returned to LA, Val & Gary had already re-married. He knew they belonged together - hell everyone did! Ben believed it would be in Val's best interests to stay out of the picture - even though this decision has tore him apart. As Ben becomes emotional, Val reaches out and kisses him...
Michael meanwhile arrives at Karen & Mack's to visit his mum. He has his son Sydney with him, and asks after Val. Karen is too upset to speak - opting instead to hold her half sleeping 5year old grandson in her arms. This is a tender moment for Grandmother & Grandson as Karen contemplates what her friend is going through...
Next door though, Val isn't the only one going through an agonising wait as Gary finds himself consoling Lilimae as he hears her weeping on the balcony. He steps out to comfort her and listens to her agony as Lilimae tells how she has looked after those kids and loved those kids ever since the moment they were born. Gary tells her all will work itself out - deep down though, he has difficulty believing this...
END OF ACT ONE
Knots Man
05-07-2001, 10:01 AM
By now, Val & Ben have moved into a beach diner...
While Gary opts to go for a drive himself - he drives out the cul de sac...
Nick arrives home from the travel agency - before him & Anne go through with their dastardly plan, he bought them an insurance policy. Two one way tickets to ...Peru!
Ben tells Val in the diner that after they found the babies back in 85, he worried this had happened. However after seeing the bond between Val & the kids, he is sure that they belong to her. Val asks how he found out about the twins' adoption case - Ben however dosen't reveal his source claiming that's not what is important now. The important thing now is that they focus on being real parents to Bobby & Betsy in their time of need. Val smiles - she knows that Ben is right!
Nick visits Abby with the incriminating CCTV tape - telling Abby it is her's. FOR A PRICE!!!
While Anne does likewise with Greg. However Anne ain't having such an easy time because Greg threatens to go to the police saying he'll report Anne for breaking and entering and theft! Anne however has a trick up her sleeve and resorts to Plan B! She then produces a briefcase full of reports, telephone converstions etc that shows what Abby REALLY got up to with his business in Thailand! Greg is suddenly interested and goes for his cheque book. Anne though is greedy and wants the money wired into her bank account TONIGHT!!!
Abby is then left at home to view the CCTV tape alone - in a fit of rage however, she throws her glass of champagne at the TV set shouting "Damn you Nick"...
Greg meanwhile gets on the case calling his private detective friend Myers to call round, IMMEDIATELY.
Back at Anne's, she & Nick are celebrating with champagne till Nick remembers they have a flight to catch in 5 hours time. They better pack...
It's late now, and Val dosen't want to stay out any later as she knows her family will be worried. Ben believes it's best they part company now as he has a partner back home waiting for him and Val has Gary. Anymore meetings would only cause them grief. The pair agree to part company knowing they will never see each other again. So after a long emotional, tender kiss, Val walks away - obviously choked as we see Ben's image behind her becoming fainter and fainter...
END OF ACT TWO
Knots Man
05-07-2001, 10:35 AM
As the long night continues...
Lilimae is worried about Val & Gary's whereabouts so recruits Karen & Mack and Kate to help look for them. Mack decides to look for Val while Kate goes looking for Gary. Karen stays at home to be with Lilimae.
Greg produces the documents for Myers to investigate...
Kate finds Gary - drunk in a bar!!!
While Val returns home to the news that Gary is missing. Lilimae though hugs Val - just relieved that she is okay.
Kate attempts to sobre Gary up with coffee back at her house...
Val tells Karen that she has had the most amazing night - but she'll tell her all about it later.
Greg calls Abby asking her to call round now. Abby refuses as it is 4.30am in the morning - but Greg insists she calls. He has something important to tell her...
Myers meanwhile is investigating the paperwork that Greg gave him and notices something is not quite right...
Kate & Gary talk about the mess things are in. Kate tells Gary that he should be supporting Val & the kids in their time of need. Rather than heading out for a drive on his own, he should've went looking for Val - and would probably have found his answer there quicker than in the bottom of a bottle. Gary realises she is right and agrees to go & look for Val. Kate however calls first to say that she has found Gary and she learns that Val has returned. Whenever she tells Gary, Gary asks one more favour - that he sees Molly before he goes. Kate agrees to his request...
Meanwhile Abby arrives at Sumner's to the news that he is planning to head round to the Mackenzie's first thing in the morning to tell them all about what he knows with regards to the twins' kidnapping. Abby panics and wants to knows what he is gonna say. At that point however, Myers returns with news. Greg jokes on how he employs him for the speed at which he operates - just 3 hours to come up with something! Myers comments on how an amateur could've found what he found - because at the top of one of the faxes Anne said came from Abby's supposed Thailand operation scandal is the date & time of when the fax was sent - YESTERDAY!!! SIX MONTHS AFTER ABBY'S RETURN FROM THAILAND. Not even were Anne & Nick bright enough to cut the time out of one of the alleged faxes! Abby of course does not have a clue what they are on about, however Greg promises to explain later. First, they have Anne & Nick to find...
While Anne & Nick leave the apartment behind heading off in a taxi, bound for the airport...
Kate walks in on Gary as he watches Molly sleeping - she sits with him enjoying for a few brief seconds what could have been normality for her. As Gary & Kate ponder on what might have been, they find themselves suddenly drawn to each other, and share a kiss. The pair however are unaware that they are being watched..... by Brian!!!
How in the world will they get themselves out of this one???

Well, Knots Man - what can I say??
This is better than the re-union that we saw only a couple of months back!!!
I can't wait for the final instalment!!!
Have you by any chance considered a career change after all the well deserved praise you've received so far??
Greg: "I want to end this before anyone else gets hurt."
Karen: "Is there anyone LEFT??"

Before you all jump on the bandwagon, yes there are several unanswered questions such as What the hell was Brian Cunningham doing arriving at Kate's at 6am in the morning?
And would Gary really have been in a fit enough state to go looking for Val? Of course not - he'd have got Karen to do the driving.
Don't think I haven't thought of these questions myself - however to sit and type in all the possible explanations would have detracted from the enjoyment of reading the script I believe.
So I ask you to use your imagination in these instances - that's if I don't get to explain the answers tomorrow night for you!!!

Hi Karen. I've just discovered your message - we must be logged on at the same time.
Thanks once again for your kind comments. To be honest, the script was fairly easy to write as I wrote all the material myself while being away on business with my work. It's amazing what you can do to fill the time in a Stakis Hotel - and it sure was cheaper than propping up the hotel bar!
Anyway I hope the rest of you enjoy the script as much as Karen has and don't forget to tune in tomorrow night at 8pm for the final installment. Tomorrow night's episode is fairly lengthy and I'll need to get an early night tonight to brace myself for the task of typing it all in.
I'm off to the pub now for a well earned drink, though I'll log on later to see how you all enjoyed it. Do feel free to ask any questions and I'll try and answer them later...
Take Care
Knots Man
Just though I'd let you know Knotsman that I've just tuned in to the latest chapter of your brilliant little script. I thought I'd squeeze it in between Coronation Street and Eastenders.
Can I just tell you that it was way better than any of the mince featured on Corrie, and I don't suppose Easties will be much better.
Both those shows would be lucky to have you on their script team.
Cant wait til 2morrow night http://www.soapchat.net/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I too tuned in after watching corrie and think that your script was way better. How nice to see all my favourite Knots Landing characters involved in this latest reunion. Karen hit the nail on the head when she said it was better than the first reunion. If the real producers make half as good a job of it as you have done Knots Man then we are in for a real treat.
Bravo!

Gary boozing again, Val traumatic, Karen doing the neighbourly thing, Greg sneaking about and Abby trying to dig herself out of a hole, it's authentic Knots Landing by all accounts.
I think it's high time u had a look @ that CV of urs Knots Man!
HI KNOTS MAN, IT'S RICKY BROWN'S WIFE HERE. JUST WANT TO PASS ON MY CONGRATULATIONS ON ANOTHER FINE EPISODE. HUBBY AIN'T IN RIGHT NOW - OUT BOOZING WITH HIS MATES. BUT I'VE BEEN ASKED TO PASS ON HIS CONGRATS AS WELL AS WISHING TO DO SO MYSELF.
IF YOU ARE GOING TO ALL THE BOTHER OF ENTERTAINING US WITH A FINE DOSE OF VINTAGE ENTERTAINMENT THEN THE LEAST WE CAN DO IS THANK YOU.
WELL DONE AGAIN.
Pleased to see that Ben is back though disappointed that Cathy wasn't brought back too. There was potential here for a real love triangle.
to be fair I don't think a love triangle between val, ben and cathy would've been as strong a lead story as the adoption saga. I mean could val really fall in love with ben after all these years? we all know that gary was val's first love. her only love.
Richard Brown
05-07-2001, 03:00 PM
I'm not being biased here, but I agree with my wife. I think Val's encounter with Ben was very realistic. After 15 years (and with Gary back on the scene), it would have been impossible for Val & Ben to reconcile. What Knots Man very cleverly did was bring these 2 characters together under extraordinary circumstances, and show the audience that these 2 people never stopped loving each other. Gary however is Val's only true love and to have the story end otherwise would've been unreal indeed.
Richard Brown

BTW Knots Man,
A mate of mine tonight who has written short stories and had them published has suggested you do the same. Either that, or contact the BBC or something with several script ideas for some of their top shows.
Talent like this should not go to waste.

Thought I'd comment on some clever little moments from KM'S recent reunion script:
Michael's Son Sydney - a clever touch Knots man.
Laura's Anniversary - I worked it out and you are absolutely right KM. Laura died just a few weeks after the twins celebrated their third birthday.
The Newspaper - Well Done for remembering that the KL Tribune was the residents local paper.
BJ - Does this stand for Brian Junior?
I'm sure I'll think of more clever touches later.

Just wait till you see the finale tomorrow!!!

As I said to Jock, I would not have did this script unless I'd been encouraged all the way.

Enjoy the last part tomorrow!

Well that's about me folks. Hope I've not missed anyone out.
For anyone who has been living on Planet Mars tonight, let me remind you that the last of my scripts will air tomorrow night at 8pm. Due to the fact I'm working tomorrow though, I'd ask you all not to tune in till nearer 9 as I'll probably not have everything loaded on for 8pm.
Thanks again for all the kind comments.

Knots Man
05-08-2001, 08:47 AM
So here goes with the final nailbiting installment of 'Knots Landing'...
Knots Man
05-08-2001, 08:54 AM
Anne & Nick have blackmailed Sumner & Abby respectively with the incriminating CCTV tapes. Sumner however has uncovered evidence that proves Anne & Nick have conned him and so he has set out to find them. Problem is though, Anne & Nick are on their way to Peru...
While an encounter with ex husband Ben at the beach has made Val see that she belongs at home supporting Gary & the kids through the adoption crisis...
Karen & Mack's marital problems have taken a back seat as they set out to help Gary & Val's investigation...
And as Kate finds a drunken Gary drowning his sorrows in a bar...
Brian has walked in on the pair as they share a kiss...
And so...
Knots Man
05-08-2001, 09:25 AM
Gary returns home at 6am as Kate (along with the kids), heads off in the people carrier looking for Brian who has sped off in a rage. When Gary walks in to the bedroom, he senses that Val is anxious and suspicious - though Val is feeling guilt after spending last night with Ben, so dares not to ask any questions. Gary assures Val though that nothing happened - he was just spending quality time with Molly - at least he knows she is his daughter. Val tells him to "stop it" urging him to believe that the twins are their's. Hasn't he picked up that much in 18 years - the ability to recognise his own genes? Val dosen't know where those other kids came from & she feels sorry for them that they can't find their mamma, but she knows that she is not that mamma and she urges Gary to know he is not their father! Gary is filled with a new sense of hope for the first time in this crisis - Kate was right. He would've found his answer with Val and not in that damn bottle. Gary stands smiling at Val with a renewed confidence...
Meanwhile Sumner, Abby & Myers search Anne's apartment - finding the wardrobe and dressers empty. There is only one place therefore that they can be - the airport...
Brian meanwhile has went round to Olivia's in a state. He tells Olivia all about Kate & 'Ewing' and how we waited all night outside Kate's for her to return home. He wanted to surprise her & was gonna ask for a second chance. Olivia is sure that Kate was just comforting Gary in his despair and that the kiss didn't mean anything. She tells Brian that if he spills the beans on what he saw, the main people who'll get hurt are Val & the kids - and they've been through enough already! At that moment, Kate arrives...
Sumner, Abby & Myers are stuck in traffic as Greg loses patience with Abby (who is moaning). He tells 'Blondie' that he has been rumbled by the pair and if she stands a chance of seeing her missing millions, then she better stop complaining.
Anne & Nick however are one step ahead of them as they nervously head through passport control...
Val & Betsy talk over breakfast in the kitchen. Betsy doubts that all will work itself out maintaining she'll head off & find a condo rather than be forced to live with new parents. Val tells her it won't come to that. Betsy asks how can she be so sure? Val then proceeds to say how she has relied on "gut instinct" all her life. She tells how she knew the twins were alive when everyone else believed they were dead, and when she was kidnapped in 92, she knew she'd see her family again. Now she was right then, and is right now. Betsy & Bobby belong to her - end of story. The pair hug...
At Olivia's, Brian & Kate talk through their problems with Brian apologising for the pain he has caused Kate by being unfaithful in the past. He has no right to judge her for an innocent kiss with Gary. He asks Kate if they can give it another go? Kate thinks about her answer...
Greg, Abby & Myers meanwhile arrive at the airport and insist they see the reservation lists for all the airlines telling airport officials that this is a "criminal investigation". Nick & Anne's names however are nowhere to be found...
As Anne & Nick get strapped into their seats on the aircraft, Nick promises Anne a new start for them both referring to her as 'Mrs Delvecchio'. (we can assume by this that the pair are travelling under false passports)...
Back on the ground, Greg comforts a distraught (and broke) Abby by telling her not to worry - they'll be back one day...
END OF ACT ONE
Knots Man
05-08-2001, 09:45 AM
Later that day, Greg visits the Mackenzies with the kind of information they have been waiting for. He produces a list of names with Val Ewing's name and address on it and an address belonging to HARRY & SHEILA FISHER. (This is the same list that Ruth gave to Abby during the Season 6 finale). Greg explains that the adoption agency in question was owned by an old colleague of his father's, and when Greg learned that it was under investigation, he carried out his own investigation as he was suspicious. He hands all the evidence to Mack (who is cautiously grateful), in order that Mack can finally take the firm to court. Meg asks Karen if this means that Bobby & Betsy will be staying next door, Karen happily replies "yes"
The Mackenzies tell the Ewings the good news & the two families celebrate...
Brian visits Abby & receives a cold reception. Abby tells him how he shamed the family with his adulterous behaviour. Brian replies tht she has a cheek to talk. Abby then slaps Brian who proceeds to tell her that he & Kate are giving it another go...
Sumner tells Myers he has another assignment for him...
Karen & Val sit in the Mackenzie's kitchen talking about her depression etc. Karen tells her she needed her friend back as she had no one to talk to. Karen then proceeds to tell Val everything about her & Tony claiming that nothing happened - though it could've as Tony made her feel special again, attractive and appreciated. She then goes on to tell Val about how nice it was to have something to "get her teeth into" with regards to the adoption investigation and how it showed her what a dynamic force her & Mack were - and indeed still are!
KAREN IS UNAWARE THAT MACK IS STANDING AT THE DOOR OF THE KITCHEN LISTENING TO EVERYTHING BEING SAID. HE SMILES AND WALKS AWAY...
While Abby arrives at Greg's ranch wanting to know what he told the Mackenzie's. Greg assures her he told them nothing "concrete" claiming that he is the hero and she is off the hook...for now!
Kate & Molly have an emotional farewell with Gary prior to heading back to New York tomorrow after 5 years away...
Then the following morning arrives with Abby & Olivia waving goodbye to Brian, Kate & the kids at the airport...
The pair then arrive home to a phonecall - Jeff Cunningham has been killed in a car crash...
END OF ACT TWO
Knots Man
05-08-2001, 10:03 AM
The following day, Mack arrives down for breakfast - Karen tells him that Meg has already left...
We see Meg kneeling by Laura's grave on the 15th Anniversary of her death. Greg then arrives and says a little prayer with her before the pair have a chat. Greg tells Meg how he & Laura would sing her to sleep at night, tell her stories etc... He also tells Meg how Laura had the most wonderful red hair, a sense of humour and a great "free spirit". He explains how Laura advised him to look at Meg everytime he was missing her. Greg tells Meg that he does this all the time - and everytime he does, he sees that glowing spirit of Laura in her eyes...
Gary then arrives home from the travel agent's to tell the family they are all heading off for a family Christmas in FLORIDA!!!
Karen & Meg talk later that day about Laura with Karen telling her much the same information about her mom. And Karen proceeds to tell Meg that although Mack & Greg don't always see eye to eye, Mack recognises the decency in Greg - and all because Greg handed Meg over to them. That is the kind of gift that no amount of money can buy...
Abby calls Sumner that night from San Francisco (Jeff's funeral) to find out if Anne & Nick have been in contact. Greg tells her he hasn't heard a peep from them. Abby tells Greg she has some good news for him and when Greg puts down the phone, he mutters to himself "Make the most of it Blondie - cos it's not gonna last"...
The following day the Ewings & Mackenzie's hold a late Thanksgiving barbecue:
At the gathering,
Val tells Karen all about Ben's return, what happened etc...
Mack tells Gary that Karen was just feeling a little "down" that's all - and he has the perfect present to cheer her up...
Meg pokes fun at the twins for going to see Mickey & Mini at their age - Betsy claims she is jealous...
And Lilimae & Val plan their itinerary in Florida.
Then Mack makes an announcement to all telling what a tough year it has been, and how they should all be grateful that they had each other during it. He then tells Karen how he knows her 60th Birthday has gotten her down recently and announces to everyone that he has arranged for the perfect "pick me up" for her...
WE THEN SEE KAREN PRESENTING A 'FIGHT AGAINST CRIME ' TV SERIES CALLED 'CRIMEWATCH CALIFORNIA'
...
END OF ACT THREE
Knots Man
05-08-2001, 10:30 AM
Several days later once Jeff's funeral has passed, we see Abby drive up to the site where Lotus Point once stood. She gets out the car, takes a deep breath and smiles...
Abby then arrives at Sumner's Ranch to tell him that Jeff Cunningham was very generous to her & the kids in his will leaving his business estate (a golf course)to her in his will. Abby however learned several days later that Lotus Point was back on the market again, so she sold the Golf Course to a buyer AT THE FUNERAL, and a few days later bought Lotus Point with the money!!! Greg then tells Abby he has had some personal good news recently too. Abby challenges him to beat that. Greg is sure he can...
Greg then proceeds to tell Abby how he has done his homework, and learned that she hired Ben Gibson to walk back into Val's life. Abby is stunned - though claims she didn't 'hire' him, she simply informed him of the situation with the twins claiming he wanted to see her. "Whatever" is Greg's reply - but that's not all...
Karen, Mack and Meg wave the Ewings off on holiday delighted that all has worked out in the end for their neighbours. As they walk back up the lawn and into the house, Karen asks Mack if he knew about Ben's return. Mack did - and wishes his old friend the very best "whatever he is up to now"...
At that point we see Ben return home from another hard day at PWC to receive a big hug from his 'partner' - it's CATHY!!!
Meanwhile at the Sumner Ranch, Sumner & Abby are still playing guessing games - with Greg trying to work out Abby's motive for wanting Gary & Val apart again. Abby tells him to "shut up" but Greg carries on - guessing that it probably had something to do with Ellie Ewing's inheritance and the fact she was near enough broke at the time. Infact, he wouldn't be surprised if Abby manufactured the whole adoption scandal herself - hiring a set of 18 year old twins, a mother & father, a secretary and a doctor to collaborate with her plan. (Abby is chalk white at this point). Greg laughs however at how she nearly got away with it. Still things could be worse - everyone could know. Now however no one does know - except him...
GREG THEN HEADS OFF TO GET HIS FISHING GEAR READY AS HE IS EMBARKING ON A VACATION FOR THE HOLIDAYS, LEAVING ABBY STANDING THERE ON HER OWN - STUNNED.
And as the camera freezes on Abby, we are left wondering - could Abby really be that evil???

Great stuff, Knots Man!!!
I especially enjoyed the storyline around the twins, what a great idea. I liked the idea of the mystery ending too, I vividly pictured Donna Mills playing this scene while reading it.
To all the other KL fans who can't wait for more fan fiction I would like to recommend the fan fiction web series Knots Landing Reborn.
It is really good, in the beginning you have to get used to some changes but after a while you just can't stop reading.
Try it out!

WOW! What more can I say?! On top of the Christmas special, how about a mid-May special, summer special, Halloween special, Guy Fawkes night special...OK, maybe that's pushing it a bit.
Question: How long did each episode take to write?
I think you've inspired me to go back to my writing as soon as poss. Maybe even a script too! How about a partnership? KL Industries? Sumner & co? Mackenzie, Fairgate & Ewing? Let's 'do' lunch! http://www.soapchat.net/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Many thanks to all of you for the kind comments you have all posted throughout the last 24 hours - sorry I didn't get a chance to come back on the net last night, but I ended up going out.
Anyway the idea of a Christmas special is a good one that believe it or not actually appeals to me as I had many more ideas that I could not fit into a 4 parter - so roll on Christmas. Though the idea of a special ever other month in the year may be a bit much!
Glad to see you all enjoyed what was a little bit of harmless fun and thanks for being kind with the criticism. Sorry there were parts you were disappointed in Cathy, but I hope the rest of you appreciated what I am fully aware, was a very amateur piece of scriptwriting.
Thanks again!

By the way Pauline, sorry for being ignorant there - I posted a message intending to answer your question, then got carried away.
With regards to the writing of the episodes, it really wasn't that hard. The basic foundation of the script (the adoption scandal) was dreamed up weeks ago whenever I started making posts on this topic. I had no idea that the topic would attract so much interest and even more so that others would start telling me to commission scripts!
Whenever I decided to take everyone up on their suggestions, I sat down one night making lots of storyline suggestions on paper - this was helped by the fact I was sent to England for a few days with my company, so the scriptwriting filled many a lonely night. By the time I returned, the script was ready - though I have to confess that I was still making amendments as late as Monday night, just 24 hours prior to the finale's airing. The story I added in (for those who are curious) was the one concerning Jeff Cunningham's death.
Anyway, I hope this answers your question.

How about doing it weekly Knots Man? The demand is definetely there and I'm sure you'd make a great job of it.

Actually KM, I am the one who posted the message about Abby - simply stating that I didn't think we had seen enough of her however after reading the last of your episodes tonight, I understand why she was so quiet in the first few episodes and think you made her truly wonderful in the last episode. Believe me, I wasn't complaining and certainly was not disappointed at all in the script. It was magnificent to read.
Well Done,
From Cathy.

I love the idea of making this reunion a weekly event. It is miles better than KL Reborn which is just too far fetched for me. Knots Man's version may not have had the fancy them or graphics, but it was a perfect example of the quality that the original Knots had to offer.
What does everyone else think? Can we persuade him to write more episodes for us?
Niamh
05-09-2001, 01:48 PM
Sorry about the spelling above - I did of course mean to say the fancy 'theme'.

Sorry for going off topic but I would like to know why Niamh thinks KL Reborn is far fetched.
I personally don't like the return of Laura and the new story around Val (about her whereabouts when she escaped from the Treadwell people. They made up she ended up with Harold Dyers family in Miami, was hididng there, got involved with Harolds uncle, got raped, horrible stuff like that!)
But most of the storylines are just great!!!

I only just got a chance today to read all of the great material Knots Man!!
What can I say? I am more flabbergasted than Karen was at the end of Knots Landing, lol.
Excellent stuff! I seriously think you should look at getting it published or made into film!
Well done, and thanks, it was great!!! http://www.soapchat.net/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Also. maybe someone out there could remix a theme tune for Knots Mans mini series! That would be great! http://www.soapchat.net/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

There is nothing I'd love greater than to see a script of this quality on a weekly basis. But would it really be fair for us to expect the guy to write something like this every single week and maintain such a high quality? I'm sure he must have a life!
Knots Man
05-10-2001, 12:19 PM
With regards to making this reunion a weekly event, I'd love to say yes, but unfortunately I have the kind of job that requires me being away from home a lot, so episodes would 'air' on different days each week and I probably wouldn't have the time.
That and the fact I do have a life as well...
Knots Man
05-10-2001, 12:22 PM
By the way, it would be really cool if someone could take Joshua up on his idea and produce a theme for us as I definetely will write more episodes at some point in the future.
Glad you enjoyed the 'reunion' Joshua!!!
Niamh
05-10-2001, 01:48 PM
Sorry to hear that you'll not be doing the scripts on a weekly basis Knots Man though I do understand your reasons.
BTW -loved your suggestion earlier on about Jill's possible comeback. I can just picture the big cliffhanger that year ending with Gary meeting up with Sally's friend for the first time and seeing her face. Gary could have asked if her name was Jill or something without the audience seeing her face, and we'd then have been left for 6 months to find out if it really was Jill or something.
Cool idea definetely http://www.soapchat.net/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

I have a really big confession to make Knots Man and I must appologise!!
I haven't actually read any of your script yet! I have only glanced at it!
So I've eventually copied and pasted it all and printed it out and I will read it!
LOL
Well done.. it is huge!!!!!

I'm sure that KL Reborn brings pleasure into many people's lives recreating the magic of the original series, but for me, it just dosen't grab my attention the way the actual programme did. The story concerning Laura's death was just too far fetched and they seem to have brought back too many past characters and feature too many Dallas crossover plots for the story to remain believeable.
On the other hand, I do think the layout of the site is excellent along with all the various seasonal themes. If we could have one of those themes combined with one of Knots Man's scripts then I'm sure we would have a winning formula.
http://www.soapchat.net/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
I've tried to get into this story as well but I don't find it compulsive viewing either. Glad to see you share my view Niamh. Thought I was alone there http://www.soapchat.net/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I have an idea! How many people are there reading this thread? Lots to put it simply. Well if we all chipped in a bit each week Knots Man could quit his job to become a full-time script writer just for us! http://www.soapchat.net/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I made a post about revamping the site, we could include a fan fiction. It doesn't have to be everyweek, you could write several mini series. The first mini series take start where the reunion movie ended. That makes it different from KLR and also gives scope not to have the pressure of writing weekly. Just a thought http://www.soapchat.net/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Okay so we've spent the last few days praising Knots Man for the excellent script he wrote for us last week - but where do we go now? From what I can recall, the whole reason behind writing a reunion script was so we could encourage the show's producers and Warner Bros/CBS executives to commission a new mini series.
Does anyone know of any people or addresses we could take the script to so we can show them we mean business?

Hi Knots Man,
I just want to say sorry if you are about to read or have read the topic by Pamela started up today regarding KL Reborn. In the process of replying, I referred to areas of your script last week as being 'bizarre'.
I hope that you are not offended in any way by this comment like the makers of KL Reborn have been and hopefully if you read the posting in detail, youll find I had some nice things to say about your script.
Sorry once more - I really did appreciate all your hard work last week and would like to thank both you and the producers of KL Reborn for the hard work you put into these sites and for entertaining all of us in your free time.

Has anyone had a look at the Get Dallas Back forum? I think we need to go down the same road as the Dallas fans have to start with and see what happens.
When I get a chance at the weekend, I will write some letters and send them off!!

There's no need for apologies - you are quite entitled to your opinion and I know (and indeed appreciate) all the good things you had to say about my script already.
In many ways, I agree that my script was bizarre, but we all know that Knots Landing was at it's best when it was bizarre.
You really shouldn't look too much into what others have to say - if they disagree with you, then that is their problem and vice versa...

I'd love to commit myself to a regular serial style script with you, but I fear that being part of a team wouldn't work at present as the only chance I get to write such stories is when I am away on business - with no e-mail facilities.
Whenever the new site is developed, I plan to load on a few mini series' until such time that I can commit to a regular serial. Of course you are free to create your own mini series too - then maybe one day we can team up whenever my work commitments allow me to be based at home with my own PC nearby.

I made one or two posts on this subject way back in March - little did I think way back then that this saga would still be running with 200 odd posts and a mini soap opera to it's name. we have abby and greg up to no good blackmailing each other, val and gary's tangled love lives, gary drunk, karen being the good samaritan as usual and a wonderful cliffhanger ending.

Hi Darren
We think that Knots Man will be writing a new script soon whenever the site is revamped as they are going to contain a Fantasy Knots Landing section on it.

I'm back folks after spending the last few days working in England!
I'm still really impressed that this topic is still front page news as I expected it to be dead and buried by now. However with the introduction of the new 'Get Knots Back' forum, I see no reason why we should continue posting on this topic as we have a whole new forum on which to post our ideas. I really do believe we have a duty to Pamela to make the forum work as she has went to a lot of bother to produce the forum itself - the least we can do is repay her with lots of new topics, postings etc to make the forum lively!
Still, there are a few other matters I have to address with you all first, so here goes...

Can't believe you're calling it a day with Fantasy KL. It was the first topic I entered every time I came into the forum and I loved reading all about everyone else's ideas too. All the other topics seem so boring in comparison.
Knots Man
05-31-2001, 03:17 PM
Believe me I am not calling it a day with this topic atall! Infact if anything, I'm only getting things off the ground.
There is nothing I want more than to see 'Fantasy Knots Landing' become a permanent fixture on this site. However the subject cannot survive in it's present form as the postings keep straying from the central theme - that being to discuss the ideal storylines in an ideal future reunion!
I have however started up a 'Fantasy Knots Landing II' topic on the Site Working Forum quite deliberately - in order that we can give Pamela's excellent new forum's some exposure as the number of postings over there are pretty low.
So let's get behind the NEW Fantasy topic folks, and give Pamela's new forums the 200 odd posts and 6000 odd views that you all gave this topic.
Thanks again Richard for your continued interest...
How very commendable of you Knots Man to be putting the site before personal glory as I'm sure if I had started a topic that had attracted over 200 postings then I wouldn't want to see it go.
Just paid your new topic on the other forum a visit and it looks promising http://www.soapchat.net/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Now that you are back on the forum again. I thought I'd let you know what a great job you have done with Fantasy Knots Landing. The first episode was absolutely brilliant - very independent from the regular series yet typically just like Knots. The scene with Karen & Mack talking in bed was just like a scene from Knots itself. Can't wait for the next episode to come.
