Ihave got Back to the Cul de sac on video and I think it is great. It is funny how the characters have all aged in the past 4 years, especally Greg and Mack. Valenes voice has gone deeper and I think Donna Mills has had plastic surgery. Even the secondry cast, it was nice to see them and see how different they look as well. Diana Fairgate had a nice cropped hair style and Olivia had a cropped hair style and she has lost that teenage years look. Ginger Ward told Valene and Karen that she and Kenny were now divorced but did'nt mention little Erin Molly. Ginger also has short hair, Then theirs Meg Mackenzie in Knots Landing her hair was red but in back to the Cul de sac she has a beautiful head of dark hair. I wonder why they did'nt use Rhianna Janette because she was a good actress. Kate Whittaker had her hair bobbed she did'nt look any different except she had Gary Ewings Child . The ending bit was funny when Valene wanted to tell Abby she was going to become a Grandmother and then Abbys Face when She found out that Karen would also be a Grandmother as well. Let me know what you think?

I saw Back to the Cul-de-Sac about a year ago, and while I'm glad that I saw it, I have to tell you that I really didn't think it was all that great.

Sure there were some great moments (and a couple of wonderful in-jokes), but while the first part is okay, I felt that the whole thing fell apart completely during part two. Gaping plot holes, the cliffhanger at the end of part one explained away with the least possible effort, Anne Matheson's feeble and embarrassing "psychic ability" storyline, but worst of all was the fact that everyone ended up being related to everyone else!

It *was* great to see so many familiar faces back again, but surely the script could have done with another couple of re-writes.

I liked the reunion movie. It seems they did rush the storylines a bit, but it was still a good movie and Anne's psychic thing was funny.

I totally agree that part 1 got off to a great start but that part 2 sorta fell flat. But that's what happens when the writers only had 4 hours to squeeze in a seasons worth (22 episodes) of story telling.
I think that for the short time that CBS gave them, it was the best that they could do. I'm just glad they had it at all.
Orininally, David Jacobs had planned to have a reunion movie w/in a year of the series finale in 1993. However, the actors had moved on and then writing a script that everyone agreed on was another delay.
I'm just glad that CBS have them a 4 hour mini-series instead of 2 seperate movies like they did w/Dallas. The Dallas movies had too much going on and not enough time to show it all w/out cutting corners.
