Does this mean that the pilot wasn't picked up and we won't be getting a new series???

The word is that it's only because they didn't see the pilot until after the presentation so the decision won't be made until later this week. The word is still good apparently, that it is in fact most likely to get picked up and go. So give it a few days at least.

Keep in mind, this was never intended to be included in the fall lineup, but as a mid-season replacement series. There is just not enough time to write the dozen or so episodes/cast/shoot in time to get it ready to go in September. After the go ahead is given this week, Cidre will go to work writing and developing the first season. Steve Kanaly even said the producers told him they wouldn't see him until fall even if it picked up.
It'll be a shock if Warner doesn't give the green light to at least a half season.

It can go either way, we are just gonna have to wait and see what happens.
I would say its still better to just show the pilot first see if its got the viewers, then green light the series.

With it being a cable show, they don't follow the traditional tv season. They can pick it up and air it whenever they choose. If it's dead then that'll be reported. They've already revealed the other TNT pilots that are officially dead.

CSM is right. I can remember TNT premiering Hawthorne (starring Jada Pinkett Smith),and other shows, during the spring season.

If a series is approved,I hope the number of season episodes is a dozen (12). TNT typically produce 10-12 episodes per year for their shows.

12 episodes/year is not a lot. I thought 22 episodes/year was sort of standard for television shows these days...

22 episodes is a standard for network TV shows, because network TV's have more money. Cable shows tend to have from 12 to 15 episodes per season. We'll see...

Jesse Metcalfe has been tweeting that his reps are telling him the word is very positive about the pilot, and he seems extremely optimistic. Nothing more official than that for now, but he felt strongly enough about it to specifically tweet at Josh Henderson, Julie Gonzalo, and Jordana Brewster with the news, so hopefully that is a good sign.

Back in the early years of TV, there could be as many of 30 episodes. Case in point: Honey West. Dallas when it first started had as many 29 episodes per season. Now we count ourselves lucky if we can get 22 episodes per season. Times have changed.

One year "Dallas" even peaked at 31 episodes. The dream season was the one that did it.

E online put up a new article where they talked to Brenda Strong a little bit. No official confirmation but all seems positive. http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/marc_malkin/b244665_dallas_reboot_its_not_remake_says_new.html Much like many of us, she herself seems frustrated about the media causing everyone to think it is a remake, including ironically this very article. They really should use update and sequel in these articles instead of remake and reboot, but my guess is they will nevertheless continue to. They also missed a chance to discuss the fact that she was on the show once before-would have made for a good comment but clearly the interviewer didn't know anything.

Excellent points Cliff. I dont understand why they are calling it a remake, or reboot. I personally won't believe its gonna be on till Im sitting and actually watching it, nothing is absolutely certain till it happens IMHO

"I'm hoping that I end up in an evening gown in a pool at some point," Strong laughed. That's really more Dynasty's shtick but the Southfork pool did see some action, too. :D

Perhaps Cliff Barnes will turn up and recognize Bobby's new wife as his one night stand from all those years ago and the feud will start up again as Cliff accuses Bobby of stealing from him. Then we can have Cliff become Digger and ramble on while drunk about how the Ewings stole everything from the Barnes family. Then Ann will take out the shotgun and chase Cliff of Southfork for accusing her of being a call girl. LOL

LOL, good grief, Brenda doesn't even know which show she's on. Geez, Patrick deserves a better tv wife than that.

Ah, but unlike the Carringtons, the Ewings are smart enough to know that "ballgowns" just weigh you down during a water fight, and they wear wedding attire and work clothes instead! Brenda S. needs to stay after class for not doing her homework.

It would still be great if they could show a sneak preview or something sooner than next summer.

Yeah, they showed the Glee pilot well ahead of the rest of the season and it was considered a promotional masterstroke.

It would be great to have that level of success, even if downsized and adjusted as comparable success for a cable channel. I don't think it's realistic that it can match the networks just because viewership is still lower on cable due to less people having it-but it can definitely be really good for TNT and a major success in that regard.
