Perhaps there could be a special episode, where the Ewings go on a vacation to California to visit Gary, Val and their family. It would be neat to see the casts of both shows interact. I wonder what Sue Ellen would think if she found out J.R. slept with Abby. Perhaps they could find a way to fit Falcon Crest into there, too. I think that Richard Channing and Donna would make an interesting couple. I see some similarities between her and the late Maggie. Would Lance and Lucy hit it off, too? Speaking of Lucy, does Julie Harris still act? It would be nice for Lucy and Lilimae to meet on screen.

JR slept with Abby who!? You can tell I never watched Knots Landing or anything except Dallas lol But it would be cool to see the Ewing's visit Gary and Val! Somehow I doubt JR would be willing to visit his brother all the way out in California, it might require Gary and Val visiting Southfork!

J.R. might go... if it benefited him somehow. Perhaps there's a secret deal he wants to make or something.

I like the Dallas/ Knots connection idea. But wouldn't this mean there would have to be total disregard of all episodes after 1985?
And then there would have to be a lot of explaining on what happened inbetween.
Maybe this could be the 'Special Episode'
Knots fans would have better views/ideas of this. Are there any episodes of Knots that could be dropped or seen as not happening, i.e. part of Pam's dream, and not effecting the overall story?

Good point! The two shows completely broke apart after the dream season, I forgot about that :o

I think it's truer to say that Knots simply ignored Dallas after the dream. Dallas continued to reference Gary and sometimes Val up to and including JR Returns. Including Gary and Val and Bobby and Betsy in the current Ewing family wouldn't be a problem.

Accounting for a living Bobby, Sr. in any Knots Landing revival might be a different matter.

Given the dream scenario, I hope they continue to keep the two shows separate, with only vague references to each other. Gary and Val are alive and together in Dallas-land, we know that thanks to the phone call in JR Returns, it probably shouldn't get more specific than that. If they decided to revive Knot's Landing, a tricky situation indeed, hopefully the same distance between the two shows post-dream would be maintained. Granted it's hard to always come up with why Gary can't show up for this or that major event, but I'd rather have that than some strange confused continuity.

Now if they did make a new Knot's show, it would be interesting to see who would come back. Since the new Dallas seems poised to have 4 regularly appearing older characters (in regards to age) with JR, Sue Ellen, Bobby, and Ann, it seems natural KL would have Gary, Val, Mack, and Karen. I'd think it would also be good to have Greg or Abby or Paige or somebody from the past to provide trouble and conflict from the outside, so I don't know how they would fit that in with the cable budget here. Either way it could be cool.
