How do you like to have your temperature taken???

Orally(Under the tongue)
Rectally(In the you-know-where)
Other(Under the armpit, for example)

I have only ever done it orally, or under the arm.

I really can not image doing it any other way

When I go to the doctor, they just run a slim machine across my forehead and that is it.

Medically speaking,
I've only ever seen rectally for little babies and pets--who can't be expected to stay still for any of the other methods. Under the arm isn't very accurate, so it's not recommended, unless you have a toddler who won't stand for anything else. Ear is the best and most accurate but it requires an expensive machine, so most people stick with the tried and true oral thermometer. I bought a very cool pacifier thermometer when my Everett was a baby, that's only useful when the kids are young enough to be using pacies.
