TAGLINE-Fallon Carrington Colby meets Mark Grayson of ‘Dallas’.

BACKSTORY:

This story takes place a little bit after Fallon divorces Jeff. Kirby and Adam are around but others things are different. Meaning Blake is dead.

Fallon is the bitchy persona( I actually preferred early Fallon to the later one) and is not into becoming an entrepreneur of her own right. She wants Denver Carrington and is determined to become a business woman to be reckoned with.

But there is Adam to contend with. And Steven, who has decided to come in from the oil fields and try his hand behind a desk.

Alexis wants to make sure that all of her children get a piece of the pie, but she does have her favorites.

So the Carrington Clan is shocked sh**t*ss, when Blake’s will is read and everything he owns, minus the mansion, is left to a mysterious man named ‘Mark Grayson’. All that is known about him to the children, is that he is the owner of Graysco, located in Dallas, Texas, that he recently ‘returned from the dead’ and lost the love of his life, Pamela Barnes Ewing, to her former husband, Bobby Ewing.

Krystle is even unsure of how Blake and Mark knew one another, though it is ascertained that Mark is not a Carrington child. And when Mark shows up in Denver, Colorado to stake his claim, it is more than just the oil company he covets as he set eyes on Fallon Carrington....

****

Fallon stepped off of the elevator of her mother’s penthouse and smoothed her hair. Alexis was fussing with a hat via a mirror over the fireplace. She turned when she saw her daughter.

“Fallon, darling...are you ready?” she asked in a low tone, greeting her child with a brief embrace. Fallon let go of Alexis. Yes, she still had issues with how this woman had abandoned Steven and herself as children. Yes, she was peeved at Adam’s appearance in their lives. And yes, she was even a bit annoyed at the burgeoning relationship between Jeff and Kirby.

But nothing was as bad as the betrayal she felt. How could her father have left Denver Carrington to some stranger? How?

Alexis sensed what her daughter was feeling and lead her to a chair. She sat down next to her.

“Courage, girl. Courage.”

“I’m trying, Mother. But when I see this Mark Grayson I’m going to scratch his eyes out! I know I will! I just....tell me you found out something? Anything about why he has what’s ours?” Fallon almost moaned. Alexis stood up.

“Not yet. But don’t you worry, my darling. This is only temporary. We’ll run this little man out of town and back to Texas. But you must put on a brave face.”

“Meaning?” Fallon asked, standing up. She walked over to the mirror to fix her own hair and Alexis walked up behind her.

“Meaning you don’t let this man see that you’re angry. Be charming. Be whatever you have to be. Do whatever you have to do. Oh, darling, I would love to see you at the helm of your father’s company.”

Fallon turned away to directly face Alexis.

“Really? You’re not secretly rooting for Steven? Or even Adam?”

“I’m beginning to suspect that Adam is bloody crazy. I don’t know what it is...and Steven...I love him dearly. But he’s soft. Fallon, you have what it takes to lead Denver Carrington into the future. And you have to think of that you know...the future...for Little Blake. You have to make sure that your son is at the helm of that company when he becomes old enough.”

Fallon nodded absently. Alexis brought up another subject.

“About Krystle. When do you think you’ll be throwing her out?”

Fallon shrugged.

“Steven and Adam don’t seem to care if she stays or goes. I guess there is plenty of room...”

“Fallon!” Alexis snapped, “it would be different if the woman had given your father a child. But she failed to do so. There is no reason for her to stay in that house. And on some level Krystle knows that too. If you want me to talk to her...”

Fallon put a hand up.

“No. I’ll see what she’s thinking. Later. Right now I can’t think past meeting this awful man who’s stolen my inheritance.”

Alexis gave her a sympathetic glance and embraced her once more.

****

Krystle liked Mark Grayson immediately. He was kind, gentle and handsome. In an almost ‘Rhett Butler’ type of way. She had met Bobby and Pamela Ewing once, on some trip she had taken with Blake to Texas. They were very much in love...a good looking couple.

Mark couldn’t have truly come between them if he tried. And yet...Krystle could not recall ever meeting Mark herself before now.

“Mr. Grayson...”

Mark smiled warmly at her and squeezed her hand.

“It’s Mark.”

“Mark, I have to warn you, my husband’s children are less than thrilled at your good fortune here. How did you come to know my late husband?”

Mark squeezed her hand again.

“One of the many things that my company, Graysco, specializes in is medical research. Blake came to one of my research facilities to try and find a cure for his illness. Around the same time I was trying to fight the blood disease that was killing me.”

Krystle choked up.

Mark was standing before her. Alive and well.

Blake was gone.

Mark pulled Krystle into his arms just as Jeff came into the room. Krystle and Mark moved apart and Jeff smiled wanly. He walked over to Mark and offered his hand.

“Hello. I’m Jeff Colby.”

“Oh yes, of ColbyCo. It’s good to meet you.” Mark said sincerely. Jeff looked from him to Krystle.

“Krystle, Joseph needs to see you about some of the refreshments. I’ll go with you. I need to see him about something as well.”

Krystle looked into Jeff’s eyes. Was it possible that Jeff was going to ask for Kirby’s hand in marriage? She nodded and they excused themselves from Mark to leave the room. Mark looked around and stopped to pick up a few photographs, his eyes falling on one of Fallon. He picked it up to study it, when he suddenly heard the door slam!

Mark looked around and found a woman with long, black hair, fighting off the attentions of some creep who had her pressed against the wall!

“Stop it, Adam!” Kirby protested as Adam tried to press his lips against hers.

“Kirby, please! My father is dead! You could give me a pity fu....”

Adam felt himself being pulled off of Kirby and thrown across the room! Kirby was still breathing heavily as she looked into the eyes of her savior.

“Are you alright?” Mark asked. Kirby nodded and took his proffered hand. Mark turned to look at Adam, who was now standing.

“Please don’t tell me that you are one of Blake’s children?” Mark asked with disdain. Kirby figured out that the man beside her was the one everyone had been talking about. This Mark Grayson. The one that had inherited everything. She smiled and introduced herself.

“Hello. I’m Kirby Anders. It’s nice to meet you.”

Mark turned his back on Adam.

“I’m Mark Grayson. I’m sorry about this.”

“First of all,” Adam sneered, “don’t apologize for me. Secondly, don’t get too comfortable. I’m a lawyer and believe me, that will won’t hold.”

Mark turned back to Adam.

“We’ll see.” he said through clenched teeth. Adam gave Kirby another salacious glance, before storming from the room. Mark turned to Kirby.

“I’m glad I was here.”

“I’m glad you were here as well.” Kirby said with relief.

“This isn’t the first time he’s tried something like that, is it?” Mark asked softly. Kirby shrugged.

“It won’t matter much longer. I’m moving out. And I’m seeing the man I’ve always wanted to be with. Adam will go away...eventually.”

Mark looked from her to the doorway. Alexis and Fallon were standing there. Alexis walked in first.

“Kirby? Why aren’t you in the kitchen with your father?” she asked blithely. Kirby’s jaw clenched.

“First of all, my father worked for BLAKE AND KRYSTLE...not you. And I am not a servant.”

Alexis rolled her eyes and turned away. Lord, why didn’t that child cut her hair?!

“Yes, yes. I forgot. Well goodbye. It was nice seeing you again, Katie.”

“It’s Kirby.” Mark said firmly. Now Fallon rolled her eyes! God, already this man reminded her of Jeff. It would be easy to get HER company back away from him. Meanwhile, Alexis noticed the sparkle of interest in Mark’s eyes when he saw Fallon. Good. Very good.

Kirby left the room without so much as a word to Fallon. Fallon could’ve cared less as Alexis spoke.

“I’m going to check on dear Krystle and see how she’s holding up.” Alexis said airily, touching Fallon’s arm.

“He likes you, darling.” she said in a low voice.

“Don’t they all.” Fallon replied.

“Use it to your advantage.”

“I did that already with Jeff.”

“Do you want Denver Carrington back or not?” Alexis told her. Fallon sighed. Her mother was right. She wanted her father’s company back. And this Mark Grayson was not exactly bad looking. Big, tall...handsome. Maybe she could find out how he managed to trick her father out of her inheritance.

Fallon watched her mother leave and held out her hand to Mark.

“I’m Fallon Carrington.”

“Fallon Colby, right?” Mark asked, noting a lack of a wedding ring.

“I’m divorced.”

“Oh.” Mark nodded, pleased to hear it. He didn’t know what it was...maybe it was this woman’s doe shaped eyes, but this was the first woman he had felt an immediate attraction for since Pam.

“Look, Mr. Grayson...”

“It’s Mark.”

“Okay, Mark. I don’t know how you managed to weasel my father into leaving you everything. But just know that I’m not going anywhere at Denver Carrington.”

Mark smiled.

“A woman that speaks her mind. I like that.”

“Not many men do. They’re a rare breed.” Fallon said sardonically, eyeing him with more interest than usual.

“Fallon, you’re not going anywhere. I’ve looked over all of the employees files. You are a valuable asset. And I can’t say that I know much about running an oil company. My own company is much different.” Mark said, still holding her hand.

“You want me to help you?” Fallon asked with disbelief. “Me and not...Adam or my other brother?”

“You’ve brought in more new business than either of your siblings, Fallon. Yes, I want you right by my side.” Mark said, thinking that he not only wanted Fallon Carrington by his side...but in his bed...as soon as possible.

Fallon felt a sudden soaring attraction to him, and pulled her hand away.

“Well we’ll see.”

“Does that mean you’ll go along with my proposal if you can’t think of a way to steal the company back from me?”

Fallon scowled! A mind reader too, hey?

“No! I...I...just will have to think about it.”

“Well please do. And know that I’m not going anywhere.” Mark said firmly. He watched as Fallon turned and left the room. For the first time since he had returned to Dallas and found that he had lost Pam, Mark could see some glimmer of hope that he could be happy again.

All Fallon got out of the meeting was that she had now been relegated from Denver Carrington heiress to Denver Carrington employee.

She would change that.

THREE DAYS LATER-

Adam stared out of his bedroom window at the grounds below.

There were servants and workmen about, getting the property ready for a little get together that welcomed Mark Grayson as the new head of Denver Carrington.

Krystle, Steven AND Fallon had thought it was a good idea.

Krystle was just soft hearted. Adam could see why she would go for this.

Steven was just soft, period.

But Fallon was a mystery. While they didn’t converse much, her anger at this situation was more than clear. What was his little sister up to?

Deciding he was going to find out, he found Fallon in LB’s nursery. She had just finished rocking him and had set him in his crib, when she noticed Adam’s presence.

“What?” she asked blithely.

Adam folded his arms.

“Did you know that Grayson demoted me?”

“Oh? To what? Janitor?”

“Ha, ha. No. I am now an ‘Assistant Executive’. While I see you have moved up to being his kind of ‘partner’. I know you wouldn’t bed the man that stole from us, so what’s your secret, Fallon?”

Fallon sighed.

“I think Mark finds you a bit distasteful. He alluded to something about your getting rough with Kirby. He’s like Jeff in a way. They just can’t stand that kind of thing. Just keep your distance from Kirby and you’ll probably move back up.”

“Why don’t you put in a word for me instead.”

“I don’t have any influence over Mark Grayson.”

“Fallon, please. While you may have no interest in him, he definitely likes you. He can barely take his eyes off of you when you’re together.”

“We work together.”

“And do you want to keep it that way? Or do you want to get this stranger the hell out of our company, so we can run OUR father’s business the way it was meant to be run?”

“You know I do, Adam.”

Adam rested his hands on her shoulders.

“Then find something we can use against him, so we can throw him the hell out of this company.”

Fallon flung his hands off of her shoulders.

“Like what? There is nothing! I mean Mother has looked. The most Mark Grayson can be accused of is being a lovesick fool over that Pamela Ewing woman. There is nothing!”

“Then we’ll have to make something up.” Adam said darkly.

“What do you mean?”

Adam nodded to himself. Yes. That was the way.

“I mean I’ll get back to you. But for now...yes...let’s make Mr. Grayson feel more than welcome today.”

Fallon watched as Adam walked out of the nursery. In her heart, she knew her brother was right. There was no dirt to get on Mark Grayson. They would have to plant some. She gave LB one last glance and left the nursery, closing the door behind her. She then entered her own bedroom and walked over to her closet. What to wear today...what to wear to a shindig for the man that had stolen her father’s company...

There was a soft knock on the door.

“Come in!” Fallon called out. A servant stepped in.

“Ma’am, Mr. Grayson is on the phone for you.”

Fallon raised a brow.

“Okay, I’ll take it in here.”

The servant nodded and Fallon waited until she heard the click of the phone on her end, before speaking.

“Mark? Please don’t tell me you can’t make it today?”

“Uh no. Actually there is an emergency with the Tuloff deal. He’s here and I really need you here with me.”

Tuloff Industries was a company that Denver Carrington wanted to take over, so they could re-sell it at a larger profit. Fallon bit her lip. If that deal went down the drain, both her and Mark would be blamed. Then they would never hear the end of it from Adam or anyone else.

“I’ll be right over.” Fallon told him.

****

When Fallon drove up to Mark’s estate, she noted it looked like a mini-ranch of sorts. She pulled up through the gate, parked in the drive and walked up to the front door. She was not exactly wearing business attire, choosing to dress in a brown and teal print halter dress. But then again, Kent Tuloff was an old family friend. There was no reason to be business like around him. He was hesitating because he didn’t know Mark.

Just more proof that Mark didn’t belong at Denver Carrington.

A servant opened the door and looked at her quizzically.

“Hello. I’m Fallon Carrington. Mr. Grayson is...”

“Oh yes! He’s down at the stables.” the servant nodded. Fallon frowned. Mark was doing business with Kent Tuloff in the stables???

“Which way are the stables?” Fallon asked. The servant stepped out of the door and pointed east. Fallon could see them and began a trek towards them. What was Mark doing? Showing Kent Tuloff his horses? Kent Tuloff was NOT into horses. He was allergic to them, Fallon recalled. That made her hurry all the more!

But when she got to the stables, she found Mark dressed casually talking to a hired hand. The hand left, nodding to Fallon. Fallon smiled at him, then walked up to Mark.

“What’s going on?”

“I wanted you to see the new Arabian Stallion I got in...before the get together.” Mark said casually. Fallon tore her eyes from his and looked at one of the most beautiful horses she had seen in a short while. She reached out for it behind it’s pen.

“It’s beautiful. But Kent is allergic to...”

“I know.” Mark said, as he wrapped a tight arm around Fallon’s waist. Fallon continued to pet the stallion. His arm felt possessive, as if he had a right to keep it there. Just like he thought he had a right to Denver Carrington...

Fallon turned from the stallion and found herself locked in Mark’s arms.

“Mark...”

“I bought him for you. To ride whenever you wish.”

“I wish you hadn’t.”

“Why?” Mark asked, his arms tightening around her. “Does this destroy your plans to run me out of Denver Carrington.

Fallon could see that he didn’t take her seriously. And that made her angry. She began to pull out of his grip.

“You’re damned right I plan to run you out of Denver Carrington! And out of Colorado if need be! You have no right to what’s mine! You barely knew my father and he leaves everything to....”

Mark stilled her words with a hard kiss. Fallon felt herself relax and enjoy the kiss before she came back to her senses and pulled away!

“You tricked my father into leaving you everything!” she snapped. Mark pulled her to him again and kissed her even harder! Fallon pulled away again!

“Stop doing that! I hate you for stealing everything and you can bet I’ll get what’s mine back!” And this time, Fallon pulled Mark to her, tired of pretending that she didn’t feel anything for this man. Mark pulled his mouth from hers and lead her towards the ladder that lead to the hayloft....

****

Kent Tuloff walked into the Grayson stables looking around. He could’ve sworn the servants had told him that he and Fallon Carrington were down here. Fallon...wow, he’d like to see her again!

But he saw no one. He then sneezed as hay spilled from the loft and onto his head. He looked up with watery eyes and was about to climb up, when he was hit with a full fledged allergy! He almost ran from the stables. Which was a good thing. Because if he had climbed up the ladder and looked into the loft, he would’ve probably fell off of it.

****

Fallon could not believe how much Mark stretched and filled her.

They had removed one another’s clothing as if the garments were on fire, tossing them carelessly behind a bundle of hay. Then Mark sat on top of the bundle and pulled Fallon down onto his great length. She had gasped softy at the intrusion, but soon found a rhythm that sent them soaring until their souls met at passions peak.

After, Fallon lay in Mark’s arms in a soft hay pile on the floor of the loft, feeling oddly sated and safe. There was a part of her that hated giving him any pleasure at all. There was another part of her that craved him again.

“Tell me about my father. The Blake you knew?” Fallon asked against his chest. Mark’s hands slowly rubbed themselves up and down her body before answering.

“He was a good man who wanted his life. We did everything we could to help him...just know that. I don’t know why he left everything to me, Fallon. I honestly don’t. And I don’t want our time now to be about Denver Carrington. Let’s just let this be about us.”

He kissed Fallon gently, before falling asleep. But Fallon could not rest. That was not enough of an explanation. There had to be more to this. There had to be.

And of course, they had both missed the get together at the mansion.
