View Full Version : Eurovision: Your Decision

Not my decision, I dare say.
Well, the cultural low point/camp high point of the year is rolling around again when the whole of Europe, nay, the world turns it's eyes to the annual contest that gives us the definitive answer as to how invisible, insignificant and down right unpopular the United Kingdom has become in Europe these days.
I haven't heard all the songs - only snippets of the Michelle Gayle, Andy Abrahams & Rob McVeigh tunes, and The Revelations songs "It's You" in full - so can't give my vote either way. The upbeat 60s inspired tune from the girlband trio is a good number, and apparently is bookies favourites to represent the UK, but the bizarre voting habits of this country well never cease to bemuse (Scooch, for example), so who knows. One thing I don't understand is why the BBC has re-named this competition from Making Your Mind Up to the colourless Your Decision... even the austere A Song for Europe sounded better!
Anyway, i'll be out on the town tonight and, i'm hoping, considerably drunk, so i'll not be watching or voting myself. So the rest of the UK, i'll leave it up to you.... do me proud, guys!
I cant wait to see what dross we come up with this year !

Eurovision your decision? Eurovision your derision more like because this poor attemt at a UK national final must surely go on record for being our worst year yet:sosad: Never have I know such a motley crew bidding to represent us in Eurovision in May. It's like the BBC have really lost interest now. Such a shame:peace:

Lots of Dolly girl bands on so far thrusting out their chests and wiggling their hips. I think they're trying to take the emphasis of the emetic lyrics they're wardling!
More cheese and corn than Mexican tapas, but hey that's Eurovision!

CRIKEY!!!!! A somewhat decent competitor!! Andy who finished 2nd on X Factor 3 or 4 years ago is having a go! NO CHANCE of getting through, too normal, too soulful, too good for Euro!
I thought Michelle Gayle's song was the best of a bad bunch. She performed as well as sang and it was very Eurovision freindly ie, catchy, gimmicky and la la woo woo hey hey :D

Andy Abrahams won!
OMG, me likey! That's because it is absolutely NOTHING like a typical Eurovision song!
Poor guy has no chance in this competition, not when he's up against the Irish Turkey! :D
Andy Abrahams the wild card won. Terry even had to check his card to see if he'd read out the right name as Michelle Gayle was the hot fav in the studio with the audience and the judges, and me !!!
Andys a great singer, but the song isnt Eurovision, Michelle woz robbed

Totally agree with you Mike. I was praying for Michelle and her song "Whoo, you make me" to win...it would have been perfect for eurovision, just perfect:D A high energy routine, good strong vocals and a catchy, camp song. She was indeed, robbed...:( Such a shame. I feel she would have got a very good result come the final in May:confused:
I hate Andy Abraham's song. It just sounds so cheap and dated and is instantly forgettable. It's like some good awful disco track from the late 70's...like something hot chocolate would have rejected for being so crap.
Bland, boring and uninteresting.
...I fear the UK will, once again, languish at the bottom of the scoreboard when this years results come in...:sosad:
