Rock and Pop are undoubtly the two most popular musical genres in history. So which do you think is better, and why?




I'll start by saying that I think that rock is better in so many ways. The main reasons are the use of electric guitars, and the fact that most of the artists are actually talented.

You really have to specify the difference. "Rock" is a particular genre of music, but it falls under the huge umbrella of "pop." "Pop" is short for popular, so anything that the public likes can be considered "pop." Meaning Sinatra, the Stones, the Jackson 5, the Bee Gees, U2, Madonna, the Beastie Boys or Amy Winehouse can be considered pop. But they're not all rock artists. Rock is much more defined.
