Her new song, "Gimme More," is now a success on the music charts -- despite the pop star's turbulent personal life and the humiliation of her much-panned performance at MTV's Video Music Awards.

This thread qualifies for Headline News, the Lounge, and Music Forums.

Of course the song is a hit -- it's superbly pop and made for the Top 40!

‘Gimme More’ set to premiere on MTV

A rep for the network has confirmed that the video will premiere on MTV's TRL at 3:30 p.m. ET on Oct 8.

The speculation about the video has been going on ever since Spears was spotted in costume at a Los Angeles warehouse back in July, reportedly filming a video.

However, sources claim that it is not for sure that the footage from that particular shoot made the final cut that will air on TRL. They say that the video could contain footage from two different shoots.

I hope the final version is better than this:

<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/oEqAUMLLLK0"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/oEqAUMLLLK0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>

Supposedly the director's cut shows her breasts.

Is it really down to Britney though ? Seriously ?

Songs written for her, played, produced, video produced for,
is her only input (between court appearances) to turn up
and perhaps "sing" (if a session chick doesn't really do the vocals ?)
... bit of a stretch to say "artist", isn't she a "product",
one-time barbie doll hero for little kids, T & A for teen boys ?

I mean a song like "Toxic" would have been a hit whoever did it,
and couldn't it have been handed to any blonde to mime to in her knickers ?
