London, Aug 9 (ANI): Pro-Diana groups in the UK are so furious that Camilla will be attending the late Princess’ memorial service that they have threaten to pelt her and hubby Prince Charles with eggs if the Duchess of Cornwall shows up.

The memorial has been organized by Diana and Charles’ sons William and Harry, who though leaving out people who they think have betrayed their mother, have invited the Duchess to be part of the service.

However, angry Brits like members of the Save The Diana Memorial think that Camilla’s presence at the event will be “absolutely disgusting” and threatened to take drastic action.

“We already have the eggs and there will be about 100 of us there. We are going to cause havoc. She is going to have a bad case of shellshock,” the Daily Express quoted a spokesman for the group, as saying.

Insiders reveal that even the Duchess herself has been ‘dreading’ the moment, and is only attending because Prince Charles wants her to be there.

The memorial service will be held at the Guards Chapel at Wellington Barracks, London, on August 31, Diana’s tenth death anniversary.

The venue is sure to bring back memories for the Duchess, for that was the very chapel she married her first husband Andrew Parker Bowles. (ANI

I really don't feel that Camilla's presence is appropriate. She hardly gave a toss about Diana now did she?

But I have to say, these protestors only raise their heads every now and again, and seem to be very fickle.

I'm not a fan of Camilla (or Diana's as matter in fact) But i never quite understood why everyone is so against her. I mean Charles was in love with Camilla even before Diana. We all know he never loved Diana, he was pressured into that marriage. Obviously he wasn't man enough too choose what he really wanted, namely Camilla. So i don't really think she's sooo out of place. What happened to Diana was sad, but not really Camilla's fault.

Sorry but I think these egg throwing people have absolutely no lives.

Diana was a woman who went out and helped a few people, lived off the tax payer and enjoyed a VERY privlidged life.

We all have problems, marriages end, people die, people remarry. Who gives a stuff.

What did Diana do for me personally? Nothing. Maybe if she saved me from a burning building or invented a cure for cancer I would be like "WOW she is amazing"

She was just a nursery teacher with rich parents who happened to marry a future King.

It is VERY sad that people have the time to think about throwing eggs, that they even care that much. These people should be locked away or made to do community service where they actually contribute to this country in a way that is appropriate.

What a bunch of sad gits.

The way people pummeled Bush43's limo with eggs and screamed as it made its way down 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue on Inauguration Day in 2001 --- an event astoundingly played down and under-covered by the press -- I can understand. There was a reason that happened.

But these people who screamed and wailed outside of Buckingham Palace the week after the Princess died, who still ragingly despise Camilla (a relationship Charles has had for a third of a century), who grant sainthood onto that documentedly unstable Diana, or project their own romantic frustrations with "men" onto her situation....... or just their markedly unmaternal impulse to throw eggs at public figures they "dont like" simply because they can...

I definitely see a connection between this sort of thing and the way-excessive, teeth-gnashing hatred the public has for Britney, Paris and Lindsay--- too much rage is being dumped on them. Which I chalk up to society's breakdown: we're mad about other things we can't fix, so we try to kill the "spoiled bitches".

Hopefully, passions in Britain against Camilla aren't still this powerful.

I mean, my God. "Get a life" is quite right... I realize getting one is not as easy as it sounds, but it's got to be an improvement.

in fact, a very good idea, fireweaver. :wiggle:

but i do believe throwing eggs at anyone is illegal under almost every government. over here it would be several misdemeanors of assault, harassment, criminal possession of a weapon, menacing with a weapon, to name a few. and i'm sure a few felonies could be found considering the "victim".

still i do think it is in poor taste for Camilla to attend. there is no way i'd want someone who committed adultery with my spouse to attend my memorial service. and i'm sure i wouldn't want my cheating spouse there either.

just very poor judgment all around. nothing new for charles.

Camilla crashes Di party
Carole Malone 12/08/2007
I don't get the royals. Princes Charles, Wills and Harry have banned a gang of Diana's exaides from her memorial service this month because they say people like former butler Paul Burrell, ex-private secretary Patrick Jephson and bodyguard Ken Wharfe have all cashed in on her memory.

However, the woman who broke Diana's heart, the woman who schemed for years to ensure her marriage never had a chance, the woman who caused the princess more misery than any other living soul will be there.

Diana will be turning in her grave at the idea of Camilla paying tribute to her memory. Because had it not been for Camilla, Diana would never have been in that car with Dodi Fayed without the bodyguards who would undoubtedly have saved her.

I dont.

Camilla didn't "cash in", at least not directly. She merely continued a pre-existing decades-long relationship.

What the reporter failed to say, was that the marriage never had a chance to begin with. IMO Camilla didn't have to scheme anything...Charles loved her before his marriage with Diana, during it and after it. Therefore the marriage with Diana was bound to turn out bad. The Marriage was just protocol and a way to have offspring. Not nice, i know, but Camilla can't be blamed for all this. Blame the Queen, she was behind it all.

Charles had to be the one to give final approval to marry Diana!

I totally understand that he loved Camilla, but he didn't erven give Diana a chance. Diana was dragged from one event to another after she married Charles.

I don't see Camilla giving speeches at the same breakneck speed as Diana did. I swear, Camilla is his kept little treasure. Am I the only one who sees the difference in treatment here??? I wish Diana was as pampered during her time with Charles. Maybe she wouldn't have been driven to the point of collapse. Grrr....:grrr:

Yes, Diana was not "praised" for her work, but instead ignored. She was used, abused and then dumped by Charles. It was a marriage of convenience; and once he had done his duty he returned to his "true love" Camilla.

I have just returned from Althorp and the exhibition there shows a diary entry in 1979; 21st August. Diana had written Princess Margarets Birthday; "Lord Mountbatten killed" "P Charles returns to Balmoral" ... she was obsessed with him in 1979; sad she netted him and then it turned into a sour marriage and then divorce.

Yes, off course, but the pressure he was under by his family must have been incredible. The times where not like they are now.

In all fairness, would you give the person, your family pressured yourself into marrying, the time of day?? Then you are a better person than me!

Off Course not, because people have been judging here before she opens her mouth. People loved Diana, not Camilla and they probably never will. She's smarter than try to imitate Diana. And She could give a million speeches, she and all of us know that wouldn't do any good on her popularity. She's been judged and people will keep this up, no matter what.
Besides, let's not make Diana a complete saint. Diana loved the media and used it very clever to make her as popular as she has become.

Correct, Diana was no angel. But in fairness, she was driven right out the door by Charles. She couldn't beat the palace system, so she sided with the press. Hmmm.....:p

If eggs need to be thrown at anyone, it should be Charles. He is the spineless one who couldn't say No to Royal protocol. The Royal Family have a lot to answer for with their ancient beliefs and principals. Move with the times - and don't allow William to marry someone he doesn't love.
