(300) Three Hundred - Broadcast: March 17, 1989
J.R. asks Sly Lovegren to secretly provide him some Ewing Oil information. Tommy McKay tries to get the missing $ 100,000 from his father and then from April. April decides to give Tommy a second chance and he takes her out on a date which ends up violently for her. Sue Ellen takes a look at the recreation of Southfork made for the movie. Sue Ellen wonders if she's ready to "relive her life" while making the movie. J.R. and Bobby get stuck in an elevator and reminisce about old times. J.R. manages to push a few emotional buttons in Bobby who decides to take him back as a full partner in Ewing Oil. Any comments on today's 11 AM ET airing on SOAPNET?
Did anyone else find the scenes in the E.O elevators boring. That's all I can really remember about this ep lol

Yeah, this episode was really a let-down. But it's pretty polarizing, as some people seem to love it while others hate it.
Yet another time where I hope the cleaning crew got paid overtime--if you know what I meanlol

Oh yes, I vaguely remember asking Larry Hagman in a dream about the toilet arrangements in this episode and he said they just went anywhere, like they normally did.

This was Patrick Duffy's dream of an episode. He always told producer, Leonard Katzman that he wanted a two hander episode with just Bobby and JR.
Duffy got his wish and succeeded in sending most of the audience to sleep.

Really, It bored me to tears anyway lol It was very bizzare with all the post it notes stuck on the wall and how they just "happened" to have beer that Ray sent them. lol

I personally find JR and Bobby to be extremely boring. It only proves to me what I've always known: It takes a good woman to make a man interesting.:p :D

It's admirable that DALLAS was willing to try different things at this point: the elevator situation here, and the "everyone's trapped in the house on a stormy night, let's see what develops" situation after the wedding. In both cases though not much happened, at least nothing interesting.
The scenes between Bobby and JR in the elevator were alright; the 'revelations' were predictable and corny, but at least there was an attempt at introspection.

Actually I liked the interaction between Bobby and J.R. in the elevator. I liked the way they explored the sibling rivalry between them as well as their desire to please Daddy in business.:)
Though I do think Bobby was a fool to take J.R. back into Ewing Oil. But I suppose if he hadn't he knew J.R. would go on sabotaging more deals in the future. Of course J.R. is gonna backstab him anyway. So basically Bobby was stuck in a damned-if-you-do-damned-if-you-don't type of choices. Whether or not he would let J.R. be a partner in the company again, either way he goes he's gonna be sorry....:(

This episode, like the recent ones where Sue Ellen recounted her experiences with JR to Don Lockwood, made the tragic mistake of utilizing flashbacks. These old clips are just a in-your-face reminder of how much better DALLAS was in the past, and how far it had fallen since its prime.

I'm in the minority but I liked this episode. One of about a dozen from this season. Yes...it was formulaic as most t.v. series celebrating a milestone episode use the broken elevator, locked basement, stranded in a broken down car, and holed up in the house during a storm as a way for characters to retrospect.
I thought J.R. was funny, especially the "What the hell" when the elevator broke down. I could have used more than the one flashback scene that they did. I also would have liked to have seen Miss Ellie give Cally a backstory about the Ewings and all of their triumphs and tragedies. I would have had the whole episode alternating between J.R. & Bobby in the elevator and Miss Ellie & Cally at Southfork.
What is a BORE is Sue Ellen & Don Lockwood. I have to agree with Abby Cunningham (I think it is her) in saying that the "I live to see J.R. Ewing suffer" storyline(s) got old. Sue Ellen, get a life!!

one of the dullest and most boring episodes in dallas history and proof for me that Dallas was an ensemble show and not just about 2 characters! Couldnt wait for the credits to roll! (and no BBG in it!)

I did say in a post a few weeks that she got a lot of boring plots in her last year on the show, the movie being the biggest. What a sad end for such a great character. :( However I did have to laugh when she gave windell a tounge lashing in her office saying she would rather sleep with a carnival geek rather than him. :D

uh this is like one of my top five fav episodes. i love seeing bobby and j.r. together in the elevator. love how after all these years bobby still loves his older brother and in his own way j.r. loves him as well. idk if ive got something wrong with me or what but this was the high point in the dallas series for me.
