I've always been under the impression that the Colbys were the most powerful clan of all prime time soaps, mightier than the Carringtons and Ewings.
But were there any interesting business story lines like in Dallas or maybe something with politics?
Weren't they involved with some spacecraft or satellite stuff?
Maybe they should have explored this a bit further and intertwine the UFO cliffhanger with other sub-plots.

They did have a couple of buissness storylines one of them was Jason and Blake's pipeline deal together (that was one of the reasons for blake being in The Colbys first episode and The Colby family being in the Dynasty Crossover Episodes). :hello:

They should have been involved in casinos and been set in Nevada against all that glitz glamour and gawdiness...

Then I suggest you buy the Lucky Chances dvd - with guest star Stephanie Beacham:D

Can't you just see her strutting through the Bellagio all decked out employees scattering cowering at her approach!

The Colbys were into everything. I'm out of town, but when I get home, I'll see if I can find the list. Jeff mentions almost every Colby business in the first episode. If someone else has it, go ahead and post it.

As for other business avenues: Zach owned a shipping company; Dominique owned a hotel, record company and night club; Cash was into politics; Sable had her museum, The Colby Collection, and her dance troop; Fallon wanted to go to work again and mentioned La Mirage.

I thought is was funny that ES's Fallon would invoke the name of La Mirage, when it was PSM that ran it.
