If you love sensitive vulnerable Steven and feisty bitchy Fallon then this story is for you:wiggle: This story is actually the last story out of the five that I have written but it is the pre story to "The Courtship of Blake and Krystle!" This story doesn't have Alexis or Krystle but they are both mentioned. It does however have Blake, Steven, Fallon, Michael, Joseph. It has some other characters that are good or bad. Like the title suggests...it is about Steven's awakening to alot of things...his awakening to evil, his awakening to his sexuality and desires, his awakening to family loyalty and love, and his awakening to his own inner strength. I have to warn you that this story is a long one and is 14 chapters. That's why I had to break it down into three threads and I will post parts two and three very soon . I hope you like it and thanks for reading it.

Inside the grand Carrington mansion, Steven Carrington gazed pensively out of his bedroom looking over the lush gardens below. Tall, lean and blonde, the afternoon sun gave his wavy glossy hair a golden hallo hue. He was nothing like his formidable father Blake Carrington. Blake Carrington the dynamic, ruthless and powerful oil tycoon who had founded the rich successful oil empire Denver Carrington Company. Unlike Blake's strong dramatic features, Steven had a poignant fine face which was dominated by soulful blue eyes.
Steven sighed wearily as he had just had a huge argument with his father. Blake wanted him to study business but Steven was passionate about the arts and literature. In Steven's heart his desire to become a writer was strong. However he knew Blake wanted him to take over Denver Carrington someday. Steven ponded, “It's so ironic really, Fallon would sell her soul to be head of Denver Carrington. Where is she when I need cheering up? Oh she is probably out riding one of her precious thoroughbreds I suppose.”
Fallon Carrington, Steven's older brunette sister was feisty and beautiful. Ever since Steven could remember she had been their father's favourite; daddy's little girl. She was like Blake in temperament, she was vibrant, ambitious, proud and determined. In Blake' eyes she could do no wrong even though she had a reputation of being a wild child. Despite this, Fallon and Steven were very close. Their bond grew stronger over the years ever since their mother Alexis left them when they were small. Blake had found out that Alexis was having an affair with the estate architect Roger Grimes. He had caught them in his and Alexis's own bed at the mansion. Blake had angrily beaten up Grimes then banished Alexis from the house but also Denver. They hadn't seen or heard from her since. It seemed to effect them in different ways. Blake concentrated more on his business to try to forget his broken heart, he became more ruthless and suspicious of people. Steven became more introverted, became more distant with his father than ever before as he blamed his father for her leaving them. Fallon was more extroverted and strived to win her father's love. She was angry at being deserted by her mother who she blamed for betraying her father and leaving him bitter. So she partied hard, smoked and went with boys to escape her woes. Deep down she craved attention and love and didn't care how she achieved it. Even though Blake doted on her his time was filled mostly with work. Fallon also had a great fear of losing her father and brother so she was very obsessive and protective of them.
Meanwhile in the mansion's cosy library Blake Carrington was drinking his second glass of brandy. His argument with Steven had left him drained and frustrated. Steven was like him in stubbornness and had refused to back down. He was adamant in his quest to study the arts no matter how much Blake had ranted at him. Although Blake was miffed at him he couldn't help admire that the boy had the courage to stand up to him. Still, Blake angrily raked his hand through his silver hair, “Why can't the boy be more like me, damn it, he is my male heir after all. Can't he see what I want is the best path for him to follow! Yes, his mother influenced him too much as a young child, I can see that now, filling his mind with her airy fairy ideas. I think sometimes she did it to spite me.”
He reflected when his children were younger that Steven would rather be in the company of Alexis and loved more than anything just to sit and watch his mother paint for hours in her art studio. He loved to listen to her soothing upper class English clipped accent. They would talk about all sorts of thing that Blake would not be interested in like books, poetry, art and music. Ah but little Fallon use to beg her daddy to go with him to the oil fields or to his big office tower in the heart of Denver. Blake smiled at the memory of when she was just three years old, he used to carry her on his shoulders out in the old fields. She was such a cute, pretty little girl that she became the darling of his field workers and Blake was so proud of her. The way Blake relaxed whenever his little girl was by his side amused the workers and they were glad the tough man seemed to have some softness to him.
Blake put down his brandy glass and punched his palm with his fist. He wondered how to persuade Steven that business studies was the way to his future. Then an idea came to him, “Yes”, Blake thought, “I will get young Aiden Westmarch to stay over tonight, he probably would be grateful for the company. Maybe he can talk some sense into the boy.” Aiden Westmarch lived with his older brother Rolt at the Westmarch mansion. Rolt was on his honeymoon at the moment, he had married the little redheaded middle class artist Natalie Shaw. Rolt and Aiden were oil tycoons like Blake and had their own successful Westmarch Oil Company. Tall, brown haired, amber eyed Aiden was about 12 years older than Steven and looked up to Blake and Rolt. He was very ambitious and thrived on the cut and thrust of the oil business. He loved nothing more than acquiring lagging oil companies for their Westmarch one. He was the new kid on the block so to speak and had slowly gained a reputation in the oil business for being a go getter by fair means or it was rumored, foul.
Through his window Steven could see in the distance his sister Fallon had finished riding as she handed the reins of her sleek horse to Tony, their handsome dark stable hand. Steven shifted uneasily as lately he had found himself admiring Tony's tanned toned muscles and big chocolate brown eyes. Tony had the habit of going shirtless when he was handling the horses much to Fallon's pleasure. Steven would always blush when Fallon openly lusted after Tony as Steven had the same feelings. She would teasingly say to Steven that he was jealous that Tony had a better body than him. Steven would think, if only she really knew the thoughts and feelings concerning Tony, would she be shocked, appalled, amused or feel pity for him?
Steven was himself shocked at his feelings of late and tried to suppress them telling himself that Fallon was right. That indeed he really admired strong silent Tony's muscles because he wanted to be just like him. Late at night when snuggled in his bed, Steven to his horror would unconsciously have fantasies of running his hands over Tony's firm chest and curved biceps or wondering how his velvety looking skin would feel under his mouth. Then a bewildered Steven would feel shame at such thoughts, wonder why he felt them. He would then get out of bed to rinse his face with cold water. “No”, Steven shivered and thought, “I can not be like that, god, just the other day the guys at the polo club were laughing saying queers ought to be strung up.” He realized that he would be shunned in Denver's high society as a gay man. He didn't even know any homosexual men in Denver. His father would probably disown him and he only tolerated him as it was. So for Steven his sexuality was a dilemma and he was constantly at odds with himself. He was still yet to discover that there was a large homosexual community that protected each other and were decent citizens who were not ashamed of who they were.
There was a timid knock on Steven's bedroom door. Steven answered it expecting Fallon to be there but it was the young maid Mindy holding a cup of coffee. She was their housekeeper Jeanette's niece who had come to do work experience during the holiday break. Austere Major Domo Joseph Anders who was in charge of the Carrington servants had agreed she could stay and do most of her work in the kitchen but occasionally prepare the bedrooms for the family and their guests. Ever since she had arrived at the mansion she had a huge crush for the handsome Master Steven. She was a cute, short, honey-blonde buxom teenage girl.
She looked up at him adoringly with big grey eyes. Mindy blushed, “I..I thought you could use this.” To her, Steven looked like a lost little boy and she was dying to give him a hug and kiss his lips. She loved his aura of vulnerability, the fact that even though he was rich, he wasn't arrogant and treated the servants with respect and kindness. “Thank you Mindy, that was sweet of you, but you shouldn't have taken the time out to do this, you must have a heap of work as it is.” Steven took the cup and smiled warmly at her and thought she was a cute kid. Mindy's knees went weak under that charming smile.
Earlier, she had heard him and Blake arguing in the library while she was dusting in the hallway. She thought Mr Carrington was very harsh on Steven and how can anyone be angry at his sensitive face was beyond her. Mindy had felt a wave of pity for the young heir and without permission from her superiors had taken him up a cup of coffee. She knew full well that her Aunt Jeanette had told her not to go upstairs unless she was with some other servant and NOT to bother the Carringtons while she was staying there. It had been worth the risk of getting into trouble just to be able to get close to Steven Carrington. She smiled coyly at him, “Oh it is no trouble Master Steven, I like doing things for you, you really seem to appreciate our hard work.” She dared to place her hand on his shoulder and ran her hand down his arm while softly saying, “If there is anything...ANYTHING you need...you just ring for me, any time, day or night. You need taking care of.” Mindy tensed and waited for his response, would he take her up on it, did he realize what she wanted from him? God, why did he have to be so cute.
Steven swallowed nervously but also with excitement, realizing the girl had a crush on him and he was flattered. Yes, he thought with relief that he was still attracted to the female sex, didn't that prove he wasn't gay? Naïve Steven didn't even think of the possibility that he may be bisexual. Ah, Mindy was very pretty and he was oh so tempted to kiss her inviting full lips and touch her full breasts but he didn't feel right in taking advantage of the servants. She was Jeanette's niece after all and he was fond of sweet gentle motherly Jeanette. No it was mistake to dally with the servants. He thought, “Not like flighty Fallon.” Steven noticed lately how Fallon had been flirting with the new handsome curly haired chauffeur Michael Culhane. There was something about the chauffeur that made Steven wary. Steven often thought Michael was sly, silently arrogant and was laughing at them all. His thoughts stayed on Fallon, “I really worry about sis sometimes, the way she flirts with men. One day she will pick the wrong one and get into deep trouble. Dad refuses to see what's under his nose or is in denial. If only dad had not made mother leave us then maybe Fallon would be less reckless.” Steven really missed his beautiful exotic dark haired English mother.
Turning his attention back to the blonde teenage girl standing before him, he tried not to lead her on or hurt her feelings. He put the cup down on a side table and took her hand, “I appreciate your thoughtfulness to me Mindy but I don't want you to get into trouble coming up here to my bedroom alone.” Mindy took her hand away from him and crossed her arms. She sulkily pouted at him, “Oh we aren't doing anything wrong, what do I care what the old fuddy duddies think? Besides Aunt Jeanette says you are a decent boy. I meant what I said, I would do anything for you Steven.” With that she plucked up her nerve and quickly kissed his cheek and went out of his room, closing the door behind her. Then she gasped in surprise as she bumped straight into haughty slender Fallon. Mindy turned pale as she realized by Fallon's disapproving expression that she must have heard their conversation. Mindy said breathlessly, “Oh sorry Miss Fallon, I was just on my way, they will be expecting me back downstairs.”
She went to go past Fallon then winced as Fallon firmly gripped her by the arm, preventing her from going anywhere. Fallon glared at her and thought, “Oh I know what you are up to trampy Cinderella but I'm NOT letting you get your paws into naive Steven.” Aloud she curtly said, “Just a minute Mindy, I want a word with you.” She dragged the poor girl to her room.
Steven's Awakening – Part Two
Once they were in Fallon's room, Fallon closed her door and leaned her back against it. She crossed her arms and looked amusingly at Mindy like a cat at a mouse hole, “Do you enjoy working here Mindy?” . Mindy looked down at the ground and shifted nervously, “Yes, Miss Fallon, the mansion is like something out of a fairytale.” Fallon smiled, “Ah yes fairytales...where anything can happen. Say for instance a golden prince falling for the lowly scullery maid.” Mindy blushed and Fallon continued,”But isn't it sad that we know fairytales are fantasies, dreams that can NEVER come true.” Mindy's eyes widened, “Oh Miss Fallon it's not what you..” Fallon narrowed her eyes and cut her off sharply, “I'll give you the direct version then shall I? KEEP your hands OFF my brother, he is way out of your league.”
She walked towards Mindy and stood close to her. Fallon hissed, “If you don't, I'll get daddy to send you away, he would do anything I ask him.” Then Fallon emphasized each of her next words with a poke on Mindy's chest, “It really doesn't pay to get ideas above one's station.” Mindy's eyes filled with tears and she nodded. Fallon patted her arm condescendingly, “Good girl, just remember, I'm mistress of this mansion. Now, I have some work for you to do. Daddy has just told me that Mr Westmarch is sleeping over. Also I have invited Miss Davis and her brother for dinner. They will be sleeping here too. So you can prepare their bedrooms. Oh and make sure they that all have fresh flowers in their rooms. That will be all.” A miserable Mindy left Fallon's room.
Fallon grinned, ah her good deed for the day, keeping a servant in her place. Just to make sure Fallon planned to ask Michael Culhane to keep little Mindy 'occupied', that should keep her away from Steven. Fallon thought how ludicrous it was for this slip of a girl to try to seduce Steven. Oh no, Fallon had plans for him. What he needed was a girl from his own class and she had just the girl in mind. Valia Davis was Fallon's best friend. The Davis family were just as rich as the Carringtons. For quite some time now Valia had feelings for Steven so Fallon had promised to help her win him over. So she had invited the curly headed blonde and her brother Cameron over tonight. Cameron Davis, solidly built with tawny curls also got on well with Steven. Fallon thought he would make a fun addition to the group tonight.
Steven was taking a sip of his coffee when his sister flounced in. His eyes took in her windblown appearance, her hair was tossled by the Denver breeze when she had been riding. He gave her a half hearted smile and was pleased she had at last come back. She went up to him and kissed the top of his head, “Hey little brother, what are you doing brooding in here on a nice sunny afternoon? You should have gone riding with me.” Steven wished he had his sister's seemingly carefree attitude and boundless energy.
He kissed her cheek and they both sat in two plush leather arm chairs. Steven said sadly, “Dad wanted to have a talk with me.” Fallon frowned “Ah yes, I see, one of daddy's 'talks'. That explains both of your woe begone expressions. You two argued again didn't you? Why don't you do what daddy wants Steven, it would make him so happy.” Steven raised an eyebrow, Fallon always put her father's feelings before his own, “You mean tow the line for him? I'm not a little hypocrite like you, party girl, I'm not blind to your flirtations with all Michael Culhane and the male species in general. At least I'm trying to be honest with him about my career choices. I want him to accept the real me, love me for who I want to be. I DON'T want to be his clone Fallon.”
Fallon sighed, she hated when her father and brother didn't see eye to eye. If only Steven realized you can trap more flies with honey, he would be able to wrap their father around his finger like she did without any effort. She couldn't bare to see the look of hurt in Steven's face so she knelt beside his chair and cheekily smiled up at him, “Aw don't let's fight. Hey, I've done something that might cheer you up. I've invited Valia and Cameron to stay over tonight.” Steven grinned and playfully tugged on a strand of Fallon's long hair, “Thanks sis. With them here Dad won't rave on about me studying business.” Steven looked forward to Cameron's company, they always had a few laughs together. Fallon sighed, “You mightn't escape yet you know, daddy's invited Aiden Westmarch.”
Fallon secretly was attracted but also a little afraid of Aiden. She and Valia would sometimes have fun telling each other their fantasies about him and wondered how it would feel to be made love to by him. He seemed dangerous, worldly and exciting to the young girls. Steven frowned, “Oh, the human money counter. No he should have been dad's son. He worships the ground Dad walks on, wants to be him. But I don't like the man. Something in him is missing, he has cold eyes.” Fallon thought his intense amber eyes were very sexy but she didn't voice her opinion out loud, Steven wouldn't understand.
At that moment Aiden Westmarch's tigerish eyes were gleaming with desire. He sighed in satisfaction as knowing female hands caressed his muscled wet chest and then ventured lower beneath the bubbles and water. He and his female companion were all alone in the Westmarch mansion. Ever since his brother Rolt and Rolt's new wife Natalie went on their honeymoon Aiden was having a great time. He had dismissed the servants for the afternoon and he was now enjoying a love making session in his huge blue spa. While his hands fondled the smooth beautiful soapy perky breasts in front of him, his thoughts turned to the Carringtons.
He smiled smugly as it was an honour to be invited to Blake's inner sanctum, the Carrington mansion. He thought, “If I can talk some sense into young Steven then Blake may give me some stocks or oil leases for Westmarch company. Then Rolt would be proud of me. I may even be able to hunt around in Blake's study to get some information.” Even though Aiden admired Blake, he was also very envious of Blake's status, power and influence in the oil world. Aiden vowed to himself that he would be more successful than Blake Carrington one day and even take over Denver Carrington.
The sleek naked girl on his lap was now writhing in pleasure as Aiden clutched her to him. His thoughts of obtaining power and more wealth excited him so much that as they started to move together in hot passion he suddenly gripped her long hair and pulled cruelly. Her head was tilted right back exposing her creamy throat to his greedy kisses. She quivered in delicious torment but then moaned in protest as his caresses were becoming too rough but Aiden was oblivious. He murmered against her wet skin, “Yes Blake, someday I will be the top dog with you bowing to me.” His huge hands gripped her arms, his fingers digging into her flesh as he thrust violently into her at an ever increasing pace. Oh yes, yes, power was indeed his aphrodisiac, and he would never get enough power.
At the Carrington mansion, Blake told Joseph he was going to rest before the guests came in the evening. He went up to his room. He was tired from his fight with Steven and felt very lonely. In this mood his thoughts always turned to Alexis. Ever since Alexis had left him Blake had various light dalliances with different ladies. But not one of these beauties had yet captured his heart like Alexis. She had been a bewitching young girl when he had married her, it had been love at first sight. Their relationship had been a very passionate at first, they couldn't get enough of each other. But over the years Blake had to leave her for long periods at a time building up his oil company, building it for her and their children. Blake thought, “Did I push you into Roger Grimes arms, Alexis? Was that the price I paid for my success?” She had always said to him that Denver Carrington was his real mistress. He wondered if his children would have been better if their mother had stayed.
Going over to his wall-safe Blake took out an old purple envelope. Inside was a faded love letter from Alexis with a lock of her long ebony hair and her photograph. He sat down by his fireplace and gazed at the photo. When he had thrown her out he had told the servants to take down all her photos in the mansion. Of course he let the children have some photos of her but he didn't want them around the mansion for all to see, reminding him of his failed marriage. He had secretly kept this one to savour all to himself. He didn't want anyone to know how vulnerable he was concerning her. He still yearned for her even while he vowed he hated her. He touched the lock of hair and brought it to his lips to kiss it. It still smelt faintly of English Violets, her signature scent. Blake still missed her company, her witty charm, her laughter, her eyes when they darkened to emerald green in the heat of their passion. He missed holding her petite curvy body in his arms, his face buried in her scented long dark hair all night long.
Angrily he grunted, he shoved the contents back into the envelope, “God Alexis, why did you betray me and our children? You still get to me after all these years, DAMN IT!” He put the envelop back into his safe then went to his phone and dialed Fliss Tanner's number. She was a leggy brunette famous Denver Model that seemed keen on him. “No!”, Blake thought determinedly, “I've GOT to get you out of my heart before I go out of my mind, Alexis.” As he invited the eager woman over for dinner that night Blake pondered that maybe, just maybe this girl would be the one to win his heart. Yes, tonight was going to be an interesting one.
Steven's Awakening – Part Three
By the evening the group were all at the mansion except for Aiden Westmarch. They were all sitting comfortably in the living room enjoying tall glasses of champagne and nibblies. Fallon looked gorgeous in a red satin dress. She sat next to a purple clad Valia and angrily watched sexy Fliss Tanner fawning all over her father on the opposite lounge.
Valia looked longingly at Steven who was by the grand piano. He was turning the sheet music pages while Cameron played some entertaining melodies. Valia thought wryly, “I'm wearing my sexiest dress and he still doesn't notice me. God, I wish I was Cameron, Steven has been engrossed in his company ever since ever since we got here. Indeed, there was an easy repore between the two boys. Steven was grateful to have Cameron's friendship. He seemed one of the few who didn't have any expectations of Steven and liked him for his inner self. Steven could tell him his thoughts on things without fear of judgment. What Steven loved was Cameron wasn't interested in the money grabbing oil business either. His passion was art design. He was always creating beautiful designs for various objects.
Meanwhile Fliss Tanner was gazing adoringly at Blake much to Fallon's disgust. Fliss was attractive in a slinky black dress. She gushed as she ran her slender white hand down Blake's jacket lapel, “It was so sweet of you to invite me here Blake. I've always wanted to see your famous mansion.” Fallon thought cynically, “Yes, I just bet you have and I bet you have some grand idea of being its mistress. But I'm the only mistress that's going to rule this house! You may be beautiful window dressing but there's nothing upstairs. Daddy will be bored with you in no time. Enjoy being Daddy's latest toy while you can.” With that reassuring thought, Fallon smiled spitefully at Fliss. Blake grinned indulgently, “Ah so what do you think of it then Fliss?” Fliss glanced around the sumptuous room with a glazed look of pleasure. She thought to herself, “Oh I can definitely see myself being Blake's wife.” She could picture in the not too distant future of being Mrs Carrington, giving dinner parties in this lush mansion, dressed to the nines and dripping in jewels. Aloud she said, “It's wonderful Blake just like its owner. Any woman would consider herself very spoilt to be living here in such splendour. Fallon is so lucky.” Fallon couldn't help but roll her eyes, “Oh brother! She is about as subtle as a Mac Truck.” Valia caught Fallon's gesture, nudged Fallon in the ribs and had to stifle a giggle. Fallon wished Aiden would come soon as Fliss was getting on her nerves.
Steven was admiring Cameron's strong hands gliding over the piano keys when a soft low distinctively male voice caused him to look up. Cameron stopped playing. “Well, you all look nice and cosy. Sorry I'm late Blake, couldn't be helped.”, Aiden strolled into the room looking confident and handsome in his blue silk shirt and black trousers. Blake offered him a drink and to sit down and relax. Fallon, Valia and Fliss were transfixed by his air of sexual charisma and looked appreciatively at his very sexy masculine form.
Steven froze, his carefree mood ruined now that Aiden had finally arrived. Steven had hoped that Aiden would call and cancel. However Aiden had purposely arrived late as he liked to make dramatic entrances, plus he gave himself some time to recover after his afternoon of extreme love making. Steven whispered to Cameron, “Cam, so dad's wonder boy came after all. But then of course he woudln't miss this opportunity to be with his idol.” Cameron squeezed Steven's arm in sympathy and Steven felt a pleasant tingle at his touch. Aiden nodded hello to Steven and Cameron then gestured for Cameron to continue playing which he gladly did.
Aiden sipped his champagne and looked at the females surrounding him with an admiring intent stare, “Good evening ladies, ah little Fallon, so grown up now I see and so beautiful.” He couldn't help but run his eyes along her slender figure in the clinging red dress. Yes, Fallon was now a tempting little morsel and Aiden wondered if her growing reputation for being a hot little piece was true. Ah, but she was Blake Carrington's daughter and Aiden knew Blake was fiercely protective of her. Also Aiden wanted to keep on the right side of Blake....for now.
However it seemed that young Fallon had other ideas. She looked seductively at Aiden from under her long lashes, “Yes, Mr Westmarch, I'm going to university soon. I'm not a little girl any more.” She thought, “You can find that out any time you like.” Blake coughed uncomfortably, “Darling, you are still MY little girl and always will be. You are not quite a full grown woman just yet, young lady.” Fallon sighed, “Oh Daddy!” Her father was embarrassing her in front of this man, sometimes parents were a pain. Aiden knew that was Blake's way of warning him off her. So he was quick to reassure Blake that he wasn't a threat, “Yes Blake, there is still plenty of time for her to experience grown up things. This younger generation are in such a hurry to be adults.” Blake visibly relaxed again, nodded and laughed.
Joseph came in to tell them that dinner was served so they all went into the large dinning room. The long mahogany table was lavishly set out with the best gold china, silverware, crystal wine glasses and decorated with slender candles and beautiful flowers. There were four maids to serve the group various rich tasty dishes. Mindy had begged her aunt Jeanette to be one of the serving maids as she wanted to see if Steven looked remotely interested in Miss Davis. It was rumoured on the servant grapevine that Valia had a crush on Steven.
Mindy stood near the wall along with the other maids and watched the resplendent guests. Blake was at the head of the table toasting his guests with a glass of dark red wine. On his right sat Fallon then Aiden and Cameron. To his left sat Fliss, Steven and Valia. Poor Mindy felt they were all worlds apart from her in classy sophistication so maybe Miss Fallon was right that it seemed impossible for her to be with Steven Carrington. However she felt a rush of jealousy as pretty blonde Miss Davis leaned towards Steven and whispered something in his ear to which made him laugh.
While they were eating their main courses Fallon was peeved to see that every now and then Fliss would put her hand on Blake's or playfully run her fingers along his arm. She thought churlishly, “God, how can he stand her pawing at him like that! At the table where we are eating too, disgusting hussy!” She sighed and said to Fliss, “So, when are you going to Italy to do that fashion shoot you were so excited about. Surely it is coming up soon.” Fallon really hoped so. Fliss said with pretend regret, “Oh unfortunately I had to decide not to go now.” She glanced meaningfully at Blake, “I have lots of important commitments here in Denver and...home is where the heart is.” Fallon was so disappointed and angry that she unconsciously snapped her bread stick with a loud cracking sound. Aiden smirked, he was very amused at Fallon's little show of jealousy towards the vacuous but lovely blonde across from them.
Cameron wished they hadn't seated himself next to Aiden. They had hardly spoken any words to each other since they had sat down. He felt intimidated by the older man who was so obviously so at ease almost arrogantly so. Oh they both moved in the same social circles but their values and interests were so opposite. Cameron looked warmly across the table at Steven who in turn gave him a comforting smile. Cameron felt a lovely glow under Steven's tender glance. Aiden noticed the exchange of feeling between the two boys and thought, “Hummmm interesting.”
As they were eating their deserts Blake said, “So Aiden, I heard you obtained the Bluefire Company for Westmarch, congratulations my boy. Rolt will be very pleased with your hard efforts when he comes back from his honeymoon.” Aiden's eyes gleamed, “Thanks Blake. Yes, they were stubborn there for awhile but they knew they had no choice and I finally got them to sell well below its value price.....it was exciting...the thrill of the chase....getting what I wanted in the end!” Aiden almost dropped his wine glass as he felt Fallon's hand lightly gliding along his hard thigh while she said brightly, seemingly without guile, “Oh I agree with Mr Westmarch it is a thrill to get what you want and soooo rewarding.” Aiden silently pounced and clamped his large hand over Fallon's wrist before she had a chance to reach his crotch. He squeezed warningly and whispered for her ears alone, “Baby girl, remember the saying of being careful what you wish for...you may just get it.”
Oblivious to what was happening under the table Blake smiled, “I like your nerve, ambition and drive Aiden. Maybe later you can share some of your tips and conquests with Steven. You see Steven how Aiden is enjoying being in the oil business, you can be like him some day if you apply yourself.” Steven frowned at his father, why couldn't he just drop the subject for once. Steven tersely snapped, “If you mean being a successful oil business man means you have to be ruthless and greedy to get your way; riding over the weaker companies to obtain more wealth and power, then I think I will pass thanks.” There was a long tense silence as father and son glared at each other. At that same moment, Mindy was dishing out the chocolate mousse. She was afraid that Mr Carrington would yell at Steven and make a fool of him in front of everyone. So just as Blake started an angry reply Mindy spilt gooey brown chocolate right in Valia's lap.
Valia shrieked and stood up with a horrified expression and yelled, “You stupid little idiot! Look what you have done, my lovely best dress.” Mindy started to dab at the chocolate with a serviette, “I'm so sorry Miss, it was an accident.” Valia violently grabbed Mindy by her shoulders and shook her, “Sorry...sorry...you will be sorry in a minute.” Steven and Cameron stood up and pulled the girls apart. Steven was grateful for Mindy's interruption with his father, she was so sweet to risk a reprisal at his expense, “Poor Mindy didn't mean it Valia, please be kind to her, it is her first time serving at the table.” Mindy looked adoringly into Steven's eyes, awwww he was so lovely to stand up for her, he was her hero. As all eyes were focused on Valia and Mindy, Aiden took Fallon's hand and placed it back in her own lap. However he couldn't resist rubbing his thumb caressingly on the back of her hand before he gently let it go. He thought, “She really is a cheeky little minx.” Fallon trembled in excitement. Fliss half heartedly smothered a girlish giggle at the sight of Valia dripping in chocolate. Fliss's giggles were getting on Blake's nerves, like fingernails running down a blackboard. He winced, tonight's dinner wasn't turning out as he had planned at all.
Steven's Awakening – Part Four!
Blake took command of the ridiculous situation, he stood up, “Mindy I think you better go back to the kitchen, it is nothing that can't be fixed.” Mindy blushed and took one last lingering glance at Steven who nodded encouragingly at her, then she left the room. Valia looked at them sullenly and wailed, “But what about my dress?” Blake calmly smiled, he felt better now that Fliss had stopped her annoying giggling, “I'm sure Fallon has lots of dresses for you to choose from.” Fallon finally stood up, she was reluctant to leave Aiden's side just when things were hotting up between them, “Of course daddy. Come on Valia, I have just the dress in mind and we are lucky we are the same size. Please excuse us for a moment, Valia will be as good as new again.” She took the bedraggled girl up to her room.
Fliss stood up and put her arm through Blake's, “Ah now that the girls are busy, why don't you take me on a little tour around your castle Mr Carrington. I'm sure the boys can amuse themselves for awhile.” Blake winced inwardly, she really wasn't backwards in coming forwards. Steven was relieved, that meant his father would be occupied and therefore give him a reprieve from his company, “Sure, you guys up for a game of pool?” Aiden and Cameron eagerly nodded while the maids discreetly cleared the table. As the boys followed Steven out of the dinning room, Blake stopped Aiden and whispered, “Talk some sense into the boy.” Aiden winked, “I'll try Blake but he seem set in his ideas.”
Upstairs in her spacious bedroom Fallon had given Valia's dress to one for the maids. She found a lovely green dress for Valia to wear. While Valia was changing into it she angrily said, “That little bimbo was making cow eyes at Steven all the time we were eating...so pathetic! I'm sure Mindy did that deliberately Fallon. She is jealous of me with Steven. Although I don't think it mattered really, Steven doesn't seem to notice me no matter what I'm wearing. Did you see the way he stuck up for her? Ah but he is kind to everybody...he is so sweet.”
Fallon sighed, “Yes he is special. I'm sorry Valia, I'm sure Steven likes you..he is just shy that's all. He needs a little push. Yes, I think Mindy has her sights set on him but I'm working on shattering her delusions of grandeur.”
Valia zipped up the lacy dress and felt better, “What do you mean Fallon? What great plan have you come up with?” Fallon tidied Valia's bobbed blonde curls and smiled slyly, “Ah you know the saying fight fire with fire. A low class bimbo needs a low class himbo...to keep her in her place. I'm going to get Michael our cute chauffeur to seduce the little bitch for us. She will soon see Steven is not for her.” Valia's face lit up in malicious delight, “Oh Fallon I love how you play with the servants...such fun. You are brilliant.” Fallon grinned smugly, “Yes, I am aren't I?” Valia laughed then playfully pulled Fallon's hair, “And according to our sexy he-man Aiden...you are grown up and beautiful.” Fallon blushed, giggled and lightly shoved Valia, “Ah the possiblities Valia...maybe one of our fantasies of him will come true. But you like Steven so I won't feel too bad at beating you at sleeping with Aiden.” Valia frowned, “Oh you are all talk, your father would kill him if he slept with you.” Fallon quirked a finely arched eyebrow at her and drawled, “Daddy doesn't have to know, does he! Think of the fun of doing something forbidden.” Valia eyes glowed in admiration at her friend's reckless nature for living on the edge, “Gosh Fallon, I wish I had your nerve to do what you want when you want. I hope Aiden isn't more than you can handle...there is something excitingly dangerous about him.” Fallon's eyes glowed with anticipation, “Ah but that's what I love about him.”
Meanwhile in the pool room Cameron was just taking a shot with his que stick. Aiden thought that was a good moment to talk to Steven about the oil business while they were waiting for their turns. Aiden began, “You know Steven..” But Steven curtly cut him off, “Before you begin my indoctrination, don't bother! I'm not stupid, I know why dad invited you to our little get together. I'm NOT changing my mind so you are just wasting your breath.” Cameron finished his shot and watched the white ball hit a red into a pocket but glanced anxiously at the other two men.
Mindy reluctantly was in the kitchen. By now the staff knew what had happened in the dinning room. Some gave her sympathetic looks while others smirked at her. Mindy's kind aunt , the housekeeper, Jeanette hugged her comfortingly, “Never mind Mindy, perhaps it was my fault to let you serve the table. You obviously were not ready to serve guests, you are too eager but I like your ambition to work hard.” Joseph came in, looked down his thin nose at Mindy and sternly said, “I think you have done enough for tonight Mindy. You may retire to your room.” Mindy nodded with tears in her eyes she felt she had disappointed her aunt. As she left the kitchen Jeanette defended her by saying, “We all make mistakes Mr Anders when we are just learning.” Joseph gave a sniff of impatience, in his eyes the girl had dishonored the Carrington servants reputation for excellence. He was pleased that Mindy was only with them for a short time. Tears were running down Mindy's cheeks by the time she reached her room. She thought defiantly, “It was worth the humiliation to stop Steven from getting into more trouble with his father.” She turned her door knob ready to go in when the firm touch of a male hand covering hers made her jump nervously.
Michael Culhane smiled warmly at her and tenderly wiped her tears with his fingers. He rasped softly, “Shhhhhhh angelface, there, there, don't cry. Those rich snobs aren't worth your tears. I heard about your accident in the dinning room, it wasn't your fault.” Mindy gazed at him with stunned wide eyes, he had always been pleasantly polite to her since her arrival but his actions now seemed intimate to her. Then she felt an pleasant ache in the pit of her stomach as Culhane suddenly bent down and brushed his lips to hers in a sweet kiss. He murmured, “Let me kiss you better.” She shivered in delicious response as he gently ran his moist warm tongue along her full lower lip and caressed her shoulders. Culhane was pulling out all the stops to seduce her, just as Miss Fallon had ordered him to. He would do anything for Fallon at the moment as he had plans of her being wrapped around his finger so he could reap the financial and physical benefits. Yes the thought of sleeping with the boss's daughter pleased him. Therefore he wanted to keep on the right side of her. He drew back from her and as he looked at Mindy's young attractive eager face he thought, “No, this task isn't so hard.” He opened her door and gently pushed her into her room then followed her closing the door behind him. He eyed her curvy full figure in appreciation even though he had a preference for tall willowy haughty girls like the little Carrington princess...Fallon. Valia willingly went into his strong arms and he whispered against her lips, “I think you need more kisses, angelface.”
The eyes of Fliss Tanner gleamed with greedy envy at the many expensive and exquisite objects in the mansion's various rooms. Blake was showing her the mansion in all its magnificent glory. His low timbered voice was filled with pride as he showed her his treasures. However it irked Blake that Fliss seemed to be more interested in the value of these objects then for their aesthetic qualities. He couldn't help but compare her to Alexis. Yes, his Alexis had enjoyed wealth but she also had a keen interest and strong knowledge of fine arts, culture and antiques. Many of the pieces that Blake possessed had been hand chosen by Alexis. Back then he used to smile indulgently at her whenever she wanted a particular piece and gladly paid for it to give to her. He had loved how she had rewarded him with tender passionate kisses from her ruby red lips, her whispered words of appreciation and love for him in her beautiful English upper class accent. Blake mused how very much he missed hearing Alexis's seductive very feminine voice, that was one of the things he had loved about her the most. She was unique amongst all the high classed American females in their social circles. He shook his head a little, consciously bringing himself back to the present and smiled at Fliss as she prattled on about how much she loved his riches.
Seeing the tension between Aiden and Steven, Cameron purposely missed a shot so that Steven had to play, “Your turn Steven.” As Steven bent over the table concentrating on a shot, Aiden angrily tightened his hold on his own que stick until his knuckles had turned white. His tawny eyes narrowed on Steven as he tried to control his temper, “The young stubborn pup is a sentimental idiot with no head for business. Doesn't he realize the opportunity his father wants to give him?” Aiden couldn't understand Steven's way of thinking at all as he would have given anything to eventually be the head of Denver Carrington. His temper flared and aloud he rasped, “You are such a hypocrite, poor little rich boy! You seem to have contempt for the oil business but it is what allows you to enjoy your opulent lifestyle.” Cameron gasped at Aiden's nerve and rude manners. He thought, “Why doesn't Aiden mind his own business, how dare he speak to Steven like that. Who does he think he is?”
Steven straightened and scowled defiantly at Aiden as he refused to be intimidated by the older man, “Yes I was born into riches, I didn't have a choice. I don't have to defend myself to you Aiden. Unlike you I don't thrive on greed or obtaining power no matter what the cost or who I tread on to do it. Unlike you I'm NOT obsessed with it, thank god. You're the hypocrite Aiden, don't tell me you agreed to give me this little 'talk in oil' for dad out of the kindness of you heart and generosity. What's in it for you? Did dad promise you some oil leases or some company shares...is that it?” Aiden was thrown by Steven's surprising perception of the situation, yes the boy was more intelligent than he had thought. He had hoped that Blake would reward him for his efforts with Steven tonight but the stupid boy was ruining his chances of that by his attitude. However Aiden wasn't going to let Steven know that. He had no intension of answering his question. So he snorted, “You're a fool Steven, you will regret your decision. Your goodie-two-shoes principles won't get you far in this world.” Then Aiden couldn't stand to look at him anymore, he wanted to punch him so instead he violently threw down his pool stick to the floor and quipped, “I need a drink.” He strode out of the room. Cameron looked worriedly at Steven but Steven shrugged. Trying to lighten the mood he said, “What can you say? That guy is a total jerk!” Cameron nodded heartily in agreement, “Yes a big arrogant jerk.” Steven thought to himself, “Dad had better watch his back with that one. He doesn't realize what a shark Westmarch is yet....just biding his time before he attacks.” Steven felt a shiver of dread for he knew it was dangerous to get on the wrong side of ruthless Aiden Westmarch.
Steven's Awakening – Part Five!
Steven was trying to put on a brave face but Cameron could tell he was shaken by what had just happened between him and Aiden. Cameron thought, “I'm going to tell Aiden he can't talk to Steven like that.” So he said to Steven, “I'll just go and see what's keeping the girls.” Steven nodded. However Cameron didn't go upstairs instead he looked into the various rooms until he saw Aiden sitting in the library sipping brandy. He glared at the older man, “Don't you think you were a bit rough on Steven? He gets enough bullying from his father without any help from you.” Aiden clutched his drink tightly in his hand, “Ah so Cameron is sticking up for Steven, how very touching.”, he mockingly thought and tensed with excitement for he was ready for an argument. A wry smile formed on Aiden's lips, “Steven's a big boy now, he can take it.” But Cameron continued, his expression very earnest in his aim at protecting his friend, “What Steven wants to do with his life is NONE of your business!”
Aiden's smile widened, he was like a cat enjoying toying with a mouse. With gentle menace he put his drink softly down, slowly stood up and with amber eyes intently fixed on Cameron he drawled, “Ah I can see Steven's life is very much your business or if it isn't that you very much wish it to be. I wonder if he knows he has such a....caring...protective...” , Aiden then treaded stealthily up to Cameron until their faces were almost touching. He purposely looked into Cameron's eyes with a seductive expression. He placed his hand on Cameron's arm and lightly stroked it to show the sexual innuendo of his next two words, “....loving FRIEND?” Cameron gave a grunt of disgust and angrily shrugged off Aiden's hand. He hated to admit it but Aiden's sensual charisma had a effect on him making him tingle. Then Aiden nastily laughed showing his contempt for the close relationship that may be between the two boys. Cameron wondered how Aiden could possibly know about his passionate feelings for Steven. If Aiden did then did Steven also know? How would he feel about it? Cameron wanted to get the chance to tell Steven himself and not have it coming from a creep like Aiden.
Meanwhile Fallon and Valia came back downstairs and found the dinning room empty. They decided to split up to search for the others. A passing maid told Valia that the boys had gone to the pool room. Valia was delighted to see that Steven was all alone. She sashayed up to him and provocatively twirled around, “ So how do I look without the embellishment of chocolate sauce?” Steven smiled, her girlish charm cheered him up, “You look adorable as always Valia.” Valia took Steven's hands and stood close to him. She looked up at him in a flirty cute way, “You think I'm adorable? That's a good sign. Mindy spilt that chocolate on me on purpose because she knows that just like her I find you irresistible.” Steven swallowed nervously, “Valia er..” Valia pulled his head down and parted his stunned lips with her own. Although her kiss was warm and sweet Steven didn't feel any sparks between them and knew deep down that she wasn't the one for him.
Fallon peeped quickly into the many rooms until she spotted Aiden and Cameron standing facing each other. The atmosphere between them seemed tense and serious. She wondered what had gone on between them. To break the mood she flounced in and grinned at them, “Hey what have you two been chatting about while Valia and I have been playing dress-ups?” Fallon's sweet husky voice broke into the two men's private battle. Cameron was glad Fallon had entered the room as he was afraid of what Aiden was going to say or do next to him. Aiden wary expression soon faded as he smiled warmly at Fallon, “Oh just 'guy' stuff, right Cameron?” Cameron swallowed nervously but nodded. Fallon smiled, “Ah so it is a boys' club, no girls allowed?...secret men's business. Awwwwww I wish I was a man so I could be in on all your men's gossip.”
Aiden deliberately ran a possessive hand down Fallon's silky hair, down her throat to caress her smooth shoulder so that Cameron would see, “No little Fallon as that would be such a great loss to the male sex. We are very glad you are very much a female,” then he arrogantly pierced Cameron with narrowed knowing eyes, “...well most men are.” Fallon laughed, looked up at Aiden with adoring eyes and blushed in delight at his flattering words, she missed seeing Cameron wince. Then Cameron glared at Aiden and thought, “Yes, he knows alright that I prefer men..him and his insinuating taunts ...the tormenting bastard!” Cameron's hate for the man increased at his open display of flirting with Fallon when earlier he had led her father to believe he wasn't interested in her. Aiden gave Cameron a cocky mocking look as if to say, “See? I can do what I want and there's nothing you can do to stop me.” Cameron glared at him and firmly took Fallon's hand to pull her away, “Come on, let's go and find the others.” No, he wasn't letting Aiden taint Fallon, the man was a sexual predator and dangerous. Cameron vowed he would do his best to protect Fallon and Steven from him.
Blake made a mock bow and with a sweep of his hand said, “And this is the ballroom that you begged me to show you.” Fliss gasped in wonder at the beautiful golden ornate room. On one side it had glass doors which showed the gardens which were dimly lit by night lanterns. Fliss whirled on the shiny grey marbled floor in excitement, “Blake, it's beautiful. Why don't you use it anymore, it is such a shame. I know your mansion was renowned for its dances.” Blake's expression became shuttered. He had vowed when Alexis left him to never use the ballroom again. The thought of holding a dance without his Alexis by his side was unbearable to him. Every time he came into the ballroom his body actually ached with a yearning to feel Alexis's soft curves swaying against him in time to some dreamy music. They use to be very good dancing partners, their bodies attuned to one another in perfect rhythm. He looked at Fliss and gruffly said, “I have no time for dances anymore.” Fliss looked disappointed then put her arms around his neck and purred, “Then I'll just have to help you change your mind. You know the saying...All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.” She kissed his lips, sliding her soft pink tongue into his mouth to play with his. Fliss murmured throatily, “There is still one very important room you haven't shown me Blake.....the master bedroom.”
Blake tensed and thought vehemently, “By god, you never will see it!” No, not his inner sanctum. Oh he intended to enjoy Fliss's lush body on many future occasions but not in the mansion. Blake brushed her lips with the tips of his fingers, “I think it would be more private for us if you show me your apartment, Fliss.” Only a sincere, gentle and loving woman with a kind heart would ever sleep in Blake's room again. He had prayed many times on long lonely sleepless nights for heaven to send him an angel to love and cherish who would love him for himself and not his vast wealth and status. He cynically thought ladies like that were very rare creatures. So in the mean time he vowed to enjoy having passionate affairs if true love wanted to elude him.
Mindy's lips were swollen by Culhane's kisses as he sat nursing her on his lap on her soft bed. As his hands roamed her full breasts underneath her unbuttoned blouse she stopped him. Panting with desire she breathed, “No, please...it's too much, too soon.” Culhane bent his head to kiss her vulnerable throat then reluctantly drew back looking at her dazed young eyes with sympathy, “Yes,” he thought, “she is melting, but she is only a kid, poor girl. The little Carrington princess is ruthless when she has it in for someone, just as her daddy ..the boss man does, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree there. They like to tread on their underlings if one dares to cross them. Well Miss Fallon, it is not easy to blindly obey you, I'm not going to just yet. I think I will get the little princess to reward me for my efforts so far. God I would love to bring her down a peg or two. It would give me great pleasure to control the spoilt brat.” So instead of continuing with his love play he just nodded, “Yes angelface, you are right, please forgive me. It is just that you are so sweet that I couldn't help myself. We will take things slowly. Just remember, you are better than the toffy Carringtons for all that they have power and money.” Then he kissed her button nose, released her and left her still quivering from his caresses.
Steven stroked Valia's rosy cheek with tender fingers. He felt terrible and hated to hurt her feelings, “Valia, you are a very sweet and lovely girl and I enjoy our friendship. But there can't be anything other than that between us, I'm sorry.” Valia stepped away from him with hurt eyes, “It's Mindy isn't it? You like her better than me, you always have a soft spot for poor waifs.” Steve shook his head, “No, no...she is a nice kid but I don't want to be involved with her either.” Valia blinked in a puzzled way and tried to keep disappointed tears at bay, “Well who do you fancy then?” Steven smiled wryly, Valia would be shocked if she knew he had lusted after Tony but also that he was beginning to have strong deep feelings for her brother.
He laughed and lied, “No one at the moment. But I do know someone who is very interested in you..he told me so.” Valia gasped and tilted her head in curiosity, “Really? Who?” Steven was relieved as his remark seemed to prevent the tears that were glistening in her eyes from falling, “Our amusing friend, Leo Trenton.” Valia's eyes widened in surprise and wonder, “Leo? Are you kidding me? Sweet Leo who is the joker at all our parties?” Leo with his cheeky eyes, brown wavy hair and fun sense of humour was a good friend to them all. Steven nodded, “The one and only. Oh he clowns around a lot but his feelings for you are very serious but he didn't want to let you know as he thought I wanted you.” Valia had always thought he was cute and funny. He had told her many times that he thought she was the most beautiful girl in their crowd but she thought he was just kidding with her. Now she realized Leo was deadly serious and the fact of him wanting her appealed to her ego and heart. She blushed, laughed and ruffled Steven's blonde hair in a sisterly way, “Well I'll be damned. Oh Steven isn't life silly? Funny how we can't see what is right under our noses. Thank you for telling me, yes, I'll have to have a nice long talk with that boy.” Maybe she would have romance in her life after all. Steven was pleased that she seemed happy at the idea of Leo having romantic feelings for her.
Fallon, Aiden and Cameron joined Steven and Valia in the pool room. Fallon smiled in satisfaction upon seeing them together, “We aren't interrupting anything are we Steven?” She gave Valia a saucy wink and Valia sighed. Steven shook his head, “No, don't be silly sis.” Aiden couldn't resisted quietly quipping, “Ah I didn't think we would be.” Cameron gave him a dirty look, he wanted to punch him so badly and he clenched his fists tightly to stop himself. Fallon could still feel the tension between Aiden and Cameron. So she said brightly, “Hey, why don't we go to the entertainment room and listen to some music.” Steven nodded, “That's a great idea, then I can beat Cam at chess.” Cameron laughed, “Oh you wish buddy boy.”
Steven led the way but they stopped in the hallway when they met Blake and Fliss. Fliss bubbled with glee, “Your father has been showing me all around this gorgeous manor house of his and I must say I'm very impressed. I especially loved the ballroom, Fallon you must talk your father into having a ball again. I love dancing.” Blake inwardly sighed, she never seemd to let up if she wanted something. Fallon stiffened and thought, “So you enjoyed goggling over the merchandise, casing the joint to see its value. But Miss Mercenary you will never own any of it. How dare you tell me what I should do with my father.” Aloud Fallon said, “Hummmmm daddy is his own master...well we are just going to put on some music now and have a little fun before bed time.” Fallon was hoping that Aiden would ask her to dance as it would be a perfect excuse to be in his arms. Blake smiled indulgently at her, “Sweetheart that's an excellent idea. I'm just going to take Fliss home. So why don't you young people go and enjoy yourselves.” Fliss was disappointed that Blake didn't want her to sleep in his bed but on the other hand was thrilled to think she would be alone with him and maybe he would spend the night at her place. So she impatiently said her goodbyes to the group. Fallon was glad Fliss was leaving although she hoped her father would come straight home. As Blake walked out of the mansion with Fliss clinging onto his arm, almost dragging him out, he wondered if Aiden had had a chance to speak to Steven about the oil business yet.
Fallon happily arranged for more champagne from the servants downstairs and told Joseph he could give them the rest of the night off. Steven and Cameron settled into a game of chess. Cameron was glad he didn't have to talk to Aiden. While Fallon and Valia went through the huge record collection trying to decide which one to put on the stereo player, Aiden sat on the lounge and pondered on a way to break into Blake's study. There was a particular hushed up oil project in the South China Sea that Denver Carrington was rumored to have been working on that could be worth millions. Aiden was determined to read their report on it. Maybe he could slip into the study later that night. “Oh yes”, he smugly thought, sipping his champagne while Fallon put on a record and the room was suddenly filled with romantic dance music, “perhaps the real action will start much much later.” He didn't realize just how much action there would be in the Carrington mansion that night..... and not just all his.
