I jujst got finished watching my VHS tapes of JR Returns and War of the Ewings.
I feel sorry for Bobby that ever since Pam left and April was killed, he has been bouncing around from woman to woman without any true love of his life.

Being that he has already hooked up with the likes of April, Pam, and Kay Llloyd, I have no sympathy for the guy ;)

I'm not feelin' ya on this one. Bobby had everything he wanted when he had Pam and he wasn't bright enough to see it. He took advantage of her from day one. And in that WOTE, perhaps he should have gone after someone who wasn't half his age, a woman that didn't make him look ridiculous. I think had Bobby truely wanted to find one woman to make a life with, he wouldn't have kept going after losers, once Pam left. Maybe he should have moved to another state 'cause Texas just didn't have what he needed.
I agree with you Songbird. I found that ridiculous that Bobby go out with Jennifer Jantzen.
I will have doubly preferred that it embraces Sue Ellen when it had the occasion to do it in the war of the ewings ! :exit: :peace:

I think that the writers were afraid of making yet another "mistake" by matching Bobby up (permanently) with someone that the majority of hardcore Dallas fans wouldn't "approve" of.
Patrick Duffy may have wanted to try "new and more challenging things" with his character, when Victoria Principal left the show, but I can remember reading an interview in which Patrick supposedly said that he always felt that it was a wrong move for Bobby to marry April, because she just didn't fit the "profile" of the next Mrs. Bobby Ewing!!!
Ultimately, I can't say that I feel sorry for Bobby, because he supposedly never found a new girl to share his life with. After all, Dallas is just fiction ... ... yet in a fictional world, I'd like to think that Bobby's waiting to be united with his one and only true soulmate (i.e. Pam) in Heaven someday!!! ;)

I think Bobby never really found true love after Pam. He did love April, but I don't think it was true love. I feel he was looking for a mother for Christopher and someone to share his time with. He only really loved Pam. And at some point in his life maybe Jenna. But, Pam was his soulmate. I think that Bobby will never find happiness unless Pam returns (if she is alive).

Patrick has really been waiting for Tessie and I on alternate nights!
oh if only,
yes after Pam, I didn't like his choice of woman! (just about coped with April) but the horrible Tracey and Tammy with the stringy hair! ugg!

I felt the most sympathy for him anytime he had to be with Jenna! Well, of course when he lost Pam too. But a few short years with Pam is better than a lifetime with Jenna Wade!

My sympathy for Bobby was when Pam left him and took Christopher, he tried everything in his power to get her to come back and she still asked for a DIVORCE...he then had to endure her continuous "friendship" with Mark Graison which truly deflated him.
Whilst she took up with Mark, along came Jenna Wade......he was hurting all through the time they were estranged and then divorced. He even admitted to Jenna that "Pam had a hold on him and he didn't know when that would go"...
Jenna was a substitute Pam and Mark a substitute Bobby, both parties knew Bobby n Pam loved each other....
Poor Bob"!

I feel sympathy for Bobby because he was unable to see the happiness right in front of him (Pamela). He let his need for power take everything from him. :sosad:

I still feel badly for Bobby. Come on...he tried his best to clean up Ewing Oil after JR's shooting. Pam really needed to have some patienece during that process. Remember....many oil men in Texas wouldn't deal with JR after chating them out of millions with the asian oil leases. Bobby did the right thing!:p

Yeah but Bobby could have been more sensitive to Pam's feelings as well. I remember when she called him from a hotel after Rebecca denied being her mother....Pam really needed someone to talk to. Bobby was too caught up in business to care. Not very considerate of you Bob!:(
Pam shouldn't be the only one to compromise. It wouldn't have killed Bobby to spare an evening away from Ewing Oil to spend some time with his wife.
But I did feel sorry for Bobby when he lost Pam twice and when April got killed. Bobby really didn't have much luck in the love department, that's for dang sure.:(

Hey Beth, I'm not saying that Pam should only be the one to compromise, but she should have just come home as Bobby said to discuss the issue.
It was Bobby who told her not to get her hopes up too high...

I felt bad for Bobby in that JR while being crippled in the hospital did everything he could to make Bobby look an idiot, and basically drove Bobby to the bottle.

This rings so true Songbird. I totally agree that had Bobby truely wanted to find another woman to share his life, he would not have kept going after the types he did. None of them were exactly the "settle down" kind.
