Downloaded Java on 1-year-old computer but....

I haven't been in Ewing_Oil in a long time and wanted to come back to say hello. I was on it a few months ago on an older computer and not on the newer one. I downloaded Java recently, but the chatscreen does show Java loading then a blank white screen with a boxed 'X' in the upper left corner. What does this mean?

I'm starting to think that maybe I didn't download a full version of it. I got it from the official website for Java. Any help would be appreciated.

MT..mine is the same thing....gray with a red x in the upper left corner..and i have java...

I used that link, and I also used aokchat.com. It sounds like Lucy is having the same exact problem as me.

I deleted Java from my computer. Should I try downloading from the same place again?

I added Java again, but I still have the same trouble. I'll stop trying because it just rejects the program.

The red X in a little white box is for some picture above the chat room box...that pic doesn't come in. Look below that. Do you see the java coffee cup ...and in the left hand side of the task bar do you see the words "applet loading" or something like that????

MT..mine has the coffee cup loading..then at the bottom it says java applet failed..and the box goes white with a red x in the top left corner....it used to let me in......

Same here Afton, it comes up with a whit box and a little box with a red cross in it. I used the link that you posted.
