Hi,
Welcome to the Lost Forum.
Just to be aware that the twists and turns in the plot are a major part of the series so we need to be aware that depending on where you live in the world you will be at a different part of the series.
So can we try and keep spoilers out of the Thread title. So no "JACK DIES".
The UK episodes are on Season 1 and Charlie was just kidnapped and found hanging. The US is on Season 2.
:)
Thanks

Yes...I look forward to hearing about the show...now we just need a "Teen Soap Forum" -- Party of Five, Dawsons Creek, Felicity, Gilmore Girls, etc.

Cool, I LOVE this show! It's definitely better than Housewives. Okay, you can't really compare the two shows but since they both premiered on ABC last year...
I will definitely post here often but I just hope I won't hear any spoilers.
I have seen the whole first season on German pay tv and the new episodes will start in February. Oh my, I think I can't wait that long, lol!

Okay...this is probably where I may get in trouble then. I'm the worst about keeping up with who watches what and where and when? I will try to limit my spoilers if possible...but that will be hard to do. You realize that right Pamela? I mean I agree with title threads that give stuff away. I won't do that. But I mean in the actual thread itself. I will try to post a spoiler warning should that occur. The reader will have to read the "caution" first so they know it contains a spoiler in it. This should be interesting. Let's see how it works out....

I don't understand how we can discuss anything if we have to worry about who has seen what. I don't say that to be rude either.

You are right Laurie, it doesn't work. Today I stumbled over a spoiler and it was in one of your posts (Pamela's thread about how long the show can go).
Don't worry, it's not your mistake, you even said something about a possible spoiler. However, then I saw something that I already knew because it has been an official spoiler for months and was revealed after season 1 ended. So, I thought I could read. But THEN there was another spoiler in the same sentence (lol) and this I hadn't known yet.
But really, not your fault so don't worry.
I just had to realize that I should probably not post here. :(

I truly am sorry Christine. I thought I gave enough of a warning. I guess I'm just destined to cause trouble wherever I go.:sosad: ;)

Its simple really, people put spoiler in the post, if someone warns you just don't read on. Thats what happens and works well on the Lost forums I use. Never had a problem apart from the odd asshole who does it deliberately.
But other than that its pretty simple.
Pamela Barnes
10-12-2005, 06:43 PM
Btw Laurie did say Spoiler alert, at that point you either go on or not, unless you read backwards :D
Laurie!
10-12-2005, 06:44 PM
Never had a problem apart from the odd asshole who does it deliberately.
You say that so negatively, like being an asshole is a bad thing. There's nothing wrong with being an asshole.:D No, seriously...I wouldn't do that deliberately. I guess I'll bold it next time.:)
Christine

No, as I said it really wasn't your fault Laurie and it's no biggie. I guess there
....
spoiler alert...
.
.
.
just HAD TO be something inside the hatch, lol!

END OF SPOILER
I should have stopped reading but I didn't...:D
But Pamela, I think it's not as easy as you put it. There is this post in your "how long can Losts go" thread where this poster mentions that characters have been killed off already. Is that not a spoiler to you?
I mean it's easy to not read the threads about the episodes that are currently being aired in America. But this was a general discussion about Lost and there's already a spoiler in it for the people who haven't seen the full first season yet. And I am not talking about Laurie's post now.
Plus, there are always new people coming and they won't know they are supposed to be careful because of the European posters. It happened to me on the Buffy forum all the time. The regular posters knew I hadn't seen all episodes yet of Buffy and Angel but the newcomers didn't know that. Sooo...back then I did hear some spoilers every know and then.
Pamela Barnes
10-13-2005, 07:16 AM
Yes I see your point but isnt that the same problem on the DH forum?
Christine
10-13-2005, 08:32 AM
Yes, it's the same on the DH forum. Right now there is this thread "Is Rex really dead?" :D
I have seen the full season already of DH so it's not spoiler to me but to some it is.
I guess everybody has to decide for himself. I will continue to visit but I also know that I might get spoiled, no matter how careful the US posters try to be.
Sometimes I think it's even too much to ask for. We cannot really expect that every US poster has to think twice before he says something.
Pamela Barnes
10-13-2005, 08:47 AM
I can always put you in my brainwashing machine to make you forget. :)
But yes you are right, indivduals will have to make decisions, but everyone has been wonderful here in regards to not spoiling it when asked. Sometimes there are things I dont mind knowing and ask, other times I ask for no spoilers and people respect that. But obviously mistakes happen.
So like you say people can make decisions. :)

I actually know what is going on in Lost - the outcome ;)
They've stopped showing this after 6 episodes of S3, I'm sure this includes America.
That said, will we both up to speed on what's going on?

I am watching...It's the second best season
I'm watching it too. The first half of the season was very poor IMO. Too much focus on the captured ones, with little progress.
However this 2nd half has got me hooked just as much as the 1st two seasons.
I know it's fantasy but I love it:D
I hear they've announced it will be finshing by 2010
Stimpy
05-11-2007, 08:26 PM
YES they DID announce that. & the ONLY season which i thought was a little boring was season 2.THIS one started out a tad slow buuuuuut it's so far my FAVORITE season SO FAR! :partytime how'd ya like this week's episode eh? :D

noooo, the one i'm on is the 2nd to the last now? of the season, & no i won't give spoilers for those who haven't seen it yet. buuut it's a 'BEN" episode & it does explain a few things, such as who the dude in that van that was found IS!
& why he was killed. & the dude who played him is a pretty good actor i've liked since the 80's. jon gries. i think is how ya spell his name? good episode. I can't wait for the finale buuuuuuut than i DON't want it to end either ya know?:D

ayuh things for some reasons TAKE FOREVER to get over there & VICE VERSA! :grrr: :grrr: :grrr: buuut ayuh THIS I can tell, it's i don't think considered a spoiler cause i don't know the outcome of it yet. in next weeks episode which is a week from the season finale we find out if charlie lives or IF he dies? i guess ThAT was an episode i read on tv.com THAT was SUPPOSE To air awhile back buut they wanted to keep the suspense from NOT KNOWING ya know? although what gets ME is considered on where the stories are heading NOW i just can't see it being shown awhile back ya know?
Sort of a spolier Stimpy, because Charlie is ok at the moment. Tonights episode saw Ben taking Locke to see 'Jacob' don't say what happens next, but are we near the end with this episode or have we got a bit to go ?
Stimpy
05-14-2007, 12:49 AM
1stly who the :grrr: :grrr: :grrr: :grrr: :grrr: :grrr: :grrr: is Jacob? i mean i can't even remember him EVER being mentioned AT ALL In the past! ya know? & ayuh it's near the end. that was last week's episode that's you are going to see the ben-centric episode. as they i guess call it. & i only brought Charlie up cause
they've been saying well asking is he going to die, or NOT die? there's a NEW episode this week. here in america, & next week is i think the finale. is next week. i dunno IF it's gnna be 2 hrs or just an hr. buuut i'll let ya know on that.

Oh I know exactly what you mean & how you feel. That's what I love about this show, I'm always second guessing and usually getting it wrong.
I know the end is in sight and one day when it's all revealed, we must have at least been close to the outcome:D

well 1stly THANXS for the Karma my friend, 27 pts? WOW! so far the MOST i can give out is i think 6 points. that's just started though. it's been MOSTLY 4 or 5 otherwise. buuut that's about it. anywys, as "LOST" my dad got bored watching it after the 1st season. & stopped during the 2nd. HIS EXCUSE? the fat guy NEVER lost an ounce of weight. & i always point out to him, uh dad, the show MAY HAVE STARTED in (2004) buuuuuuuuut they've only been on the island for like 80 days or so. & in short it as BIG as a guy the guy who plays Hurley IS, it doesn't take 80 some days to lose the weight. am i right? i just thought ya would like laugh upon hearing that. hehe

I agree with you Stimpy, I have had this debate with my mate, who keeps trying to bring it down:S
80 days isn't that long. We don't see Hurley running or jogging every morning, neither do we see him go withought food.
Look at when he stashed the food and how quick he was into those jars..
At the end of the day it's great fanatsy entertainment.
Jeez they'll be saying Frodo's toe nails never grow any longer in Lord Of The Rings .
I'm with you on here Stimpy
Stimpy
05-14-2007, 11:39 PM
why thank you. next i'll hear people say THAT they don't have people say they need to use the bathroom. kinda like in 'the lord of the rings" as well it's NOT implied. or in my dark tower series, it's not either. buuut i don't really care about hearing that though. i just thought of that NOW! & just think THAT"S also QUITE funny ya know?
in short some people are just sooooooooooo STUPID y know?

well "LOST" is i guess 2 hrs. next week! the season finale. the BITCH about the show is THAT those assholes who either create the show or just "ABC" is FORCING US to wait until Jan. or Febuary of (2008)! until NEW episodes are going to air. there's NOW going to be 16 episodes per season! & all i have to say to that is "WTF"? 16 that's NOT a season ya know? hell 24 or 25 episodes is a season. sheesh back in the day they used to do tv shows that would air 40 episodes sometimes! such as "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" & "Bewitched"! ya know?

05-20-2007, 12:43 AM
ayuh, it is, for us it's the LAST one. this up & coming wednesday. i mean. it's going to be 2 hrs. long & than we are screwed over with a cliff-hanger until either January or febuary of (2008)! i at 1st read it's going be febuary buut than i read it's going to be on January. either way it's BULLSHIT! & the rest of the series is going to be 16 episodes! i know i've already said all this, buut i just find all this really a bunch of bullshit that's i seem to keep repeating myself. hehe & sorry about that. & thanxs for the karma i like your style on keeping my trap shut! hehe :wiggle:

here IS a spoiler though, well NOT really a spoiler buut something THAT ABC did.
the following nite, they showed a "LOST" Secrets Revealed" was aired. i think was the title? & it was hosted by it's creators. & it tells us shit going back to season one THAT we MAY have forgotten to bring up. & to my dissapiontment they didn't make me understand who the HELL "JACOB" was & IS suppose to be!
in short, for those WHO MISS the previous nite episode they do in a sense let ya know what went on the nite before. :D
We have part 1 of the finale this coming Sunday, It's looking like it's going to be an explosive season finale too :)
Stimpy
05-21-2007, 11:46 AM
really it airs on sunday over there? it's on wednesday's or HOWEVER ya spell that? hehe well over here in american. it's ALWAYS been on that day.
It used to be aired on a Wednesday night here on Channel 4, however Sky bought the package and they air it on a Sunday, back to back with the latest season of 24.
Have you heard of any release date for this seasons Lost yet ?
Stimpy
05-21-2007, 07:14 PM
not yet. no buuut my guess would prolly be around september or october? buut that's just a guess at this point. i STILL need to buy seasons one & TWO on dvd!
I would have thought releasing it now would have generated more sales:S
Come Sept folk will have moved on to something else.
I hope it's sooner than that

May 31fst they will OFFICALY Announce when it comes to dvd! & since the season finale is well offically over! i can tell ya's a spoiler. no it's not really anything serious or anything so ya can relax man! all i'm gnna say IS that charlie's fate is decided in that episode & NOT the one before it. buut the ending made me think WTF? & when ya DO see it please let me know what ya think of "jack" with a beard! in a flashback. to me i think it's fake buut hey i could be WRONG! & THAT"S about all iv'e to say about the finale. see i didn't spoil anyting for ya's! :D
Great news on a future release, cheers Stimpy :D
Don't you worry fella, as soon as I've seen it, I will be here giving you my thoughts ;)
Well Stimpy, I watched the double bill last night and OMFGhttp://smileys.sur-la-toile.com/repository/Surpris/G_04BI%7E1.GIF
It was awesome really loved it. So who is the woman that came from the sky ?
Now we're led to believe there are more hostiles out there OMG !!
Somethings got to happen, because nearly all Ben's men are dead !!!!
Also, are we to believe that the ending cliffhanger was a shot of the future or will it turn out to be a dream Jack had ?
Once again plenty more questions :D
Loving it, really loving it :D:D
Stimpy

hehe i just wanted to say that NO it's NOT a dream it IS indeed in the future, & my guess the dead body is Locke? cuz online they i guess showed a paper that showed JOH died... & that's all it showed. & i looked up the names & his was the ONLY one with those letters man. soo that's my guess. & ayuh charlie IS dead.
my favorite character the BASTARDS! & the flashbacks are NO MORE, it's NOW the flash forwards! i was confused as well man. i figured it was taking place after his wife & him split up. & another guess is kate choose sawyer over him?
just a guess though. what about U man, any guesses?
Your theories could be right. I guessed it might be Locke that was in the coffin, then I thought it might have been Ben. Thinking that Ben caused so much upset with both Jack & Kate. Kate obviously doesn't wanna know. Yet Jack is showing signs of what we saw with Locke & his obsession with the island.
Brilliant stuff I love all these mysteries so much, will we ever guess right ?
I'm still not sure that in a last gasp Charlie could well survive.
But who are these new hostiles ? It's fantastic all round.
What's your thoughts on nearly all Ben's men are dead ?
Also did you notice that guy with Ben dark haired one. In Ben's flashback he looked the same, as if he hasn't aged on the island ?
Do you know who I mean ?
Stimpy
05-30-2007, 08:05 PM
ayuh i think his name is Richard. HE seems like a good guy. & ben's clearly lost his mind man! hehe & I did kinda like TOM cuz even though he was a jackass he was a funny guy. & I LOVED how he got killed! Sawyer FINALLY got to pay his ass back ya know? :partytime

05-31-2007, 03:57 AM
ya got me man, how about Walt? i'm guessing THAT was just a vision Locke saw. i would LIKE to hear IF he did make it home though. one thing THAT they did do was ask him 2 come back for the end of the season i read in i think tv guide? buut he turned their offer down. soooo i was a bit no a LOT SURPRISED, STUNNED that Walt, was in the show, i guess his voice is starting to change as well. hehe i wondered how long that was going to be until it did. cuz i think one of the problems they they had was during the 1st season i think? walt grew a few inches. & my guess that's why he was wrote out. since he's suppose to stay young & short. well that's my 2 cents how about ya's?
Angela Channing
05-31-2007, 05:29 PM
Don't you just love Lost? Like I said on the Falcon Crest forum, the funeral where we don't know who has died was originally a Falcon Crest cliffhanger.
I'm not convinced it was John Locke who died because why did no one else from the Island show up? Surely Claire, Walt and Michael and Sawyer would have shown up had it been Locke. Don't forget that scene was from the future so it could be someone else we haven't yet seen on the show.
Stimpy
06-01-2007, 08:34 PM
well i was just guessing buut ya might be right, who knows perhaps it's BEN! buut my point in that is simply this, maybe that's NOT his REAL name. buut i doubt on that one. a guess is a guess i guess, hehe & we won't find out till i think febuary? :grrr: :grrr: :grrr: :grrr: :grrr: :grrr: :grrr: :grrr: :grrr:

i dunno about Walt man, i STILL think it's just a vision he saw. cause the island is a magical island SUPPOSELY! & remember when jack saw his dead dad a couple yrs. ago? no i'm NOT implying walt is dead. or anything like that i don't think he is. my guess is they DID make it Home. buuut they SHOULD at least acknowledge the fact THAT either they did OR didn't ya know?

Very true.
Although I wasn't meaning Walt would be dead, just putting a maybe to Angela Channing's post :)
Have you given any thought to Jack's Dad been dead ?
When Jack thought he was seeing him, he went looking for the coffin and from what I remember it was empty and Jack smashed it up.
What if he isn't dead:eek:

that's about the same way i feel. just like "The Simpsons" a show that premired in December of (1989) when i was 11 yrs. old & IF this show EVER DOES indeed end in let's say 2 OR 3 yrs. from NOW i'll be in my early 30's by THAN! i'm only 28 now. & will be 29 in 3 & a half months. soo in short that is a show that even though i don't watch it like i used to. i'll still miss it ya know? & i'll miss "Lost" when it ends as well. how about U man? i mean bout "The Simpson's"
:o :o I loved the Simpsons in the early 90's but I sacked them for South Park:o :o

ayuh i did used to watch it. i watched it when it 1st came out. i LOVED IT! than during season 2 i missed a few episodes & lost what the hell was going on. i got soo damn confused that i stopped watching it. about a year or 2 ago. b4 the last season started i started watching it again. i forget how many seasons there are of it. buut it was odd NOT seeing "Terry O' Quinn" NOT on the show & her NOT working for the "FBI" anymore. least under our old friend 'Mr. John Locke"! :D & i watched it up until "Vaughn" got hit by that car. & i started to watch it from the VERY Begining again on tv. buut than i for some reason unknown to me i lost interestya know?
Well that was a weird way to watch it, no wonder you LOST it;)
It turned out to be very good, with a great ending....So I'm kind a hoping based on that, that JJ Abrams will give Lost the great ending it deserves.
Have you heard any more on the release date, does it look like it's going to be December ?

yep it's december man. i'm sorry to tell ya's that. i read online THAT a SHITLOAD of people HATED the way it ended. & they say think that it went downhill after season 2 or season 3 i forget which? buut ayuh when i was watching it sydney's mom was on the show as i think a regular? her & sark were doing something, buut than her mom got away. or something like that? that was in season 2 i am talking about.
Yeah that's the right season, but that story isn't over in season 2...........

Yeah, inbetween watching other shows, you wanna give Alias another go, and the longer you leave it the cheaper it will become.
Worth while investing at some stage.......JJ Abrams tells a good tale ....

Don't you just love Lost? Like I said on the Falcon Crest forum, the funeral where we don't know who has died was originally a Falcon Crest cliffhanger.
Oh, I just saw it. it was great, & just like Falcon crest :D
I'm not convinced it was John Locke who died because why did no one else from the Island show up? Surely Claire, Walt and Michael and Sawyer would have shown up had it been Locke. Don't forget that scene was from the future so it could be someone else we haven't yet seen on the show.
It has to be someone that Jack cares about but others didn't , hmmm, I wonder ... and with Jack, was it not completely accidently that he found out (whoever it was) ... seeing the newpaper on the plane? When he was asked "are you friend or family", he said "neither".
I don't think it is Locke ... I don't think he'd leave the island ... he ran off at the last minute. He doesnt want to leave because the island cured him of his handicap. What about the woman who thought the island cured her cancer? Would she leave?

It's all bizarre and has you trying to work it out each episode.
I thought it might have been Ben as he wasn't a friend.........but Ben played such a big part in Jack's life that led me to believe that he possibly becomes obsessed with him, or that he needed closure on Ben.
The twist was Jack saying that he needed to go back to the island.......
I wonder if there going to be any more focus on this story next season....

Had it been Rose, Bernard would have turned up and I'm sure other family and friends. I also think Jack would have said to the undertaker that he wa a friend. The fact that no one else turned up must be significant so it wasn't someone popular. Ben is a possibility because both Jack and Kate had a connection with him through their kidnapping so might want to mke sure he was dead. Remember, Jack said he thought Kate might have showed up at the funeral. Sawyer is also a possibility because both might want to say goodbye to him but he was a con man so wasn't popular so you could imagine no one else turning up to his funeral.

Although Sawyer was a con man, so far I still see both Kate and Jack fond of Sawyer...Unless things take a twist.

IMO It's all pointing at Ben..................With that in mind and the way the writers are constantly twisting stories I feel this is more of a red herring...
.....Far too easy for the viewers to think this.
Any thoughts ?

sorry if this has already been asked, or if I missed/forgot something in the show:
If pregnant women die on the Island, how does Ben have a daughter supposedly with the French woman??
Another question:
Several people know how to get to the island on purpose (Ben and his crew), and they also knew that Penny and the parachutist and their eventual rescuers, know the coordinates to the mysterious portal. So, why does Jack bother flying randomly in commercial flights?? Just because he has a "free pass" lol If he wanted to get back, charter a plane to fly to those coordinates.
Isn't Kate still wanted for her previous crimes? Why is she walking free?

I don't think (or somehow got the impression) that he is her biological father, I got the impression he nicked her as soon as she was born. I think the Danielle said this in the 1st season.

We don't know how he got off the island if he actually did and not a dream. I'm thinking that if he did get off the island, it could have been without his knowledge therefore not knowing where the island is? Does that sound plausible ?
Isn't Kate still wanted for her previous crimes? Why is she walking free?
That would be true, but do we know if she is under another name.... The cop that had her on the plane died, so she Kate may be classified as dead..... So much other information is not clear yet.
Did that help ?
Or am I off mark
That's my point. Kate and Jack would show up for Sawyer's funeral but no one else would.
I don't know if I confused the issue they, I was trying to say if it was Sawyer then Kate would have shown up..................... I think lol lol

That's my point. Kate and Jack would show up for Sawyer's funeral but no one else would.
Well, there are at least 2 clues we can deduce:
the person is important enough to make it to the front page of the newspaper when dead (yet disliked enough that no one would want to bother going to the viewing). Those things I would think would be in conflict ... because you'd think at least the press would show up if the first was true!
Jack didnt know about it until he saw the article, so he was not in contact with the person enough to hear about it through some kind of personal notification.

sawyer's the best possibility. maybe it was in the paper because he died robbing a bank or doing a crime, and that made the news.
I think Jack would consider sawyer a friend though. Kate's reaction of "why would I have gone" seems to be a sign that she has moved on with her life (along with asking Jack "why did you call me") ... it didn't feel like it was because she didn't like the person ...
Besides Jack being a generally obsessive person, I don't find it realistic that Jack wants to go back so badly. He is addicted to helping others and feeling like a hero, and he can do that anywhere. Unlike Locke and others that got hooked on the mysteries and supernatural forces on the island, I can't see why Jack would be so hung up.

I'm a big fan of the original series and the first set of movies with the original cast.
I tried watching the newer series, but couldn't get into them at all.
I heard this new movie will go back to the original cast of characters, played by new actors.

Just looked it up, release proposed for Xmas 08 and still up in the air as to whether it will feature the original characters. I like JJ Abrams so I'm hoping for a great film.
I never liked Star Trek until the girlfriend (now wife) took me to see First Contact, it was from there that I watched it and loved it. I went back and watched the whole lot from the beginning, but much prefer the next gen with Voyager being my favourite of the lot:)

well for me peeps, the Series itself, no matter if it's a tv show or a movie IS HIGHLY Over-rated. it's ilke "Star Wars" good movies buuut i prolly wouldn't be caught dead at a convention dressed up as a character. unless supplied with either LOTS & LOTS & LOTS Of liquir. OR IF a convention came out here & the ENTIRE cast came with it. as well as it's director "George Lucas" i'd prolly more likely ask him about i think is his BEST movie "American Graffiti" & what he thought of it's sequel? buut i do like the star wars movie, buut just as a causual fan. same thing with star trek. just a causual fan. i don't really care how many women captain kirk slept with. now don't get me WRONG, i'm NOT talking about people who just enjoy to watch no. i mean people who spend the life's saviings buying shit & have the all the series mesmorized as well as the movies & the casts life as well. i meant that on BOTH series, i don't go ape shit over something NEW Or RARE of the shows & movies are at this store or that store.

The twist was Jack saying that he needed to go back to the island.......
Just saw this. At first I thought it was all another flashback. It was only when he met up with Kate at the end that I realised. OH! It's a flash forward!
Has anyone seen Brigadoon? It's a Lerner & Loewe musical about two American travellers (Gene Kelly and Van Johnson) who stumble on a remote village in Scotland. What they don't know is that it's an enchanted place that only appears for one day each century. Kelly's character falls in love with a local girl but is afraid to stay in the village and leave behind all he knows. When he gets back to America, after the village has disappeared, he regrets that decision ...
I wonder if the Lost writers have seen it.

Yeah I agree, from what I've heard they are roughly 48 episodes left to the whole saga. So instead of releasing 2 more seasons they are going to milk it releasing 16 ave a season, giving them 3 seasons to cash in on rather than the two.

In a flash forward we see that Jack & Kate get off the island......
Will it end with their ultimate escape off the island ?
Good ending maybe.
Then in a few years time once the whole saga is over, maybe they'll start a new season, with the characters that finally came home. We could see how they cope back in the real world again. Then as the season progresses, will the characters try their best to get back to the island ?

I got to say the way S3 ended was brilliant. I was trying to figure out the timeline, when did Jack fly Oceanic often and have a drinking problem? And the beard, the unshaven beard, the full grown beard. He tells the Chief of Surgery, "You check upstairs, if I am drunker than my father, then fire me." What? I wondered. I often wonder What? I really think there is going to ultimately be one unifying character that ties everything together. And it is someone we know about. The time displacement in the show, the rearranging of time I think is original. Because every time we think we have a glimpse of something it ends up changing, I mean the context changes the events.
Anyway, love the show
Merry Spikemas to all, and to all a good bite.

Yes, I believe they will. Maybe it will not satisfy, but yeah that is what I think the rush is about. Too many people on that show have so many other offers to do other (hehe) work. And I believe it will all come back to Jack lying on his back in the jungle in the first ep of Season ep, er One. Why was Jack there? I have brought this up before. This whole show has one memorable in the beginning, Jack waking up in a jungle. I mean, my god, Jack in S1 is a White Hat, he is the leader and true, yet in S3 he is out of control, he attacks his father because he thinks his father is the one his wife left him for? What?
Jack and Locke are so much alike. Remember the title for the first Episode of S2? Man of Faith Man of Science. On that island faith and science are either one or they are so far apart that nothing can reconcile reason and instinct. But isn't science instinct? In an intellectual sense anyway. Anyway, I absolutely loved how S3 ended, it was disturbing. "We have to go back, Kate. We should have never left."
I bet, and I only bet with a dollar, the next to last season (or the penultimate season) is going to be about the rescue. And the last episode is about how they do go back. I have no idea why. I just think that is how it might play out, remember I am only betting a dollar. Not a Euro. A dollar. Lost is my favorite soap opera, it does everything soap operas are famous for, convolutions, tricks, reconciliations that are not really that, etc.
Cheers!

Wow, those two clips looks good to me, it's time to watch this show on dvd. I lost my interest in this show first when our tv-channel never finisch a full season, always split it in two parts, man I hate that.
So I gues Lost will be another show that I will follow on dvd, just like 24 and Prison Break. ;)
Loved the opening episode of S4
So many questions and possible clues given away :D

Yes it was a great opener. I love how its no longer a question of If or When they make it off the island but rather Who managed to make it off the island. Kate, Jack & Hurley we know of so far.
Hurley said sorry to Jack for going with Locke...did they all die? Where they who the guy in the psychiatric hospital was asking Hurley about?
Lost is back and as usual there's more questions then answers. God I hate this show! lol

Now then, what did you make of Oceanic 6 then ? Does that imply there will be only 6 survivors in the end ?
Are these survivors getting killed off, hence the coffin scene with Jack. Then Jack saying, We need to go back to the Island ???
When Hugo apologized for going with Locke to Jack in the future, are we to believe that Hugo will not see Jack again on the Island ?
So many questions, and I bet I've got them all wrong lol lol

Now then, what did you make of Oceanic 6 then ? Does that imply there will be only 6 survivors in the end?
Yes it seems as only 6 got off the island, maybe Michael & his son were 2 of those 6? Which if that is the case would mean that there is 1 other person on the island at present who eventually leave with Jack, Kate & Hurley...
Are these survivors getting killed off, hence the coffin scene with Jack. Then Jack saying, We need to go back to the Island ???
Yes! And it could be Hurley that was in that coffin as Jack & Kate's flashforward seems to have happened after Jack meeting Hurley in the hospital.
When Hugo apologized for going with Locke to Jack in the future, are we to believe that Hugo will not see Jack again on the Island ?
Hmm I dunno Im sure Jack will have to have a run in with Locke & Ben again before the end.
Oh so many questions, I love it:D
I've always wondered why they showed Libby in the psychiatric ward in one of Hurley's flashback. She died around that time, so do you think it's done with or will we see more on that ?
Another question
'Who or what do you think Jacob is?'

I stopt watching "Lost" after episode 13 of season 1, because I missed some episodes and the time they air the show on tv wasn't right for me, so that's why I lost my intrest in the show. Brilliant episode this week, for a horrible moment at the start I thought it was going to be a boring episode about Locke!
Anyone else think that they made it pretty obvious half way through that Kate's baby was really Erin?
But why does Jack not want to see him? Is he responsible for Claire not being around? Is he against Kate raising him? Does he know Erin is his nephew? Once again so many questions :D
I was Lost with this episode lol lol
I believed Kate had a baby to Sawyer and that's why Jack wouldn't wanna see him.....

I think he meant that 8 people initially survived the crash and made their way to the island. He said something like Kate was helping people get from the water to the shore. Which adds up to what the outside world thinks as the plane was found at the bottom of the ocean.

Now then, was he implying that he lied by saying he doesn't love Kate ? Hmmm
jen.n
03-02-2008, 03:40 PM
Jack's entire testimony was a lie, if the truth is what we've been watching for the past few years. There were more than 8 survivors, Kate was not the hero that saved everyone, Kate's captor did not die in the crash, he died later.
If Kate's baby is Claire's, then why would Kate's mother think that it is her grandson? Maybe that is another lie. Maybe Claire doesn't survive and Kate pretends to be the baby's real mom or deluded herself that the baby is really hers, or Kate's pregnancy was not successful and she kidnaps Claire's baby, and that is why Jack doesn't want to see them.
Apparently Kate shops at the Victoria's Secret on the Island lol.
No then, we've had;
The Oceanic 6 as well as Jack's statement. (True or False)
Which one is true ?
Then how do you really interprete what they mean by survivors ?
Do they mean they survived the plane crash or they survived the Island ?
Maybe only six of them came home, and there's still more on the Island ?
The Plot Thickens ;)
Canon
03-02-2008, 04:10 PM
Im sure Jack said while on the stand that only 8 people initially survived the crash, they all ended up in the water and Kate helped them make their way to land. The whole world thinks the wreckage was found on the bottom of the ocean so Jack's lie ties up to what everyone thinks.
or Kate's pregnancy was not successful
I thought she wasnt pregnant or was she just lying to Sawyer?

I think "the Oceanic 6" means that six came home - at least as far as the public knows.
Jack's statement (presumably false) that there were eight survivors I believe referred to surviving the crash. If that was true it would imply that two others either died on the island later or else remained there.

OOOH, I missed that. I hope he is not dead. I have been worried about him because the actor who played him had a DWI recently. Disney SUPPOSEDLY has a morality clause and the last two(anna lucia and Libby) who had a DWI were killed off. I liked Libby, didn't care for anna lucia.

After last night's episode, I wondered about how Ben ended up off the island. I found this interesting theory at another site:
Ben waking up in the Tunisia desert
Ben was placed there by the Orchid station. That is how he escapes the Island while the O6 is rescued in some other manner (possibly by Penny). Through the Orchid you can set destination and date, and travel through time and space, choosing between a certain few places in the world, like that exact spot in the desert. This makes sense considering earlier reports that the Tunisian polar bear had been "bounced around time and space."

We don't know everyone on that boat died. Some might have jumped off the boat in time. The island was "moved" shortly after that, so the survivors may have been transported elsewhere on the planet like the helicopter was.

There are too many technical inconsistencies that drive me nuts:
freezing the battery is same as disconnecting it. As far as the circuit is concerned, it's broken, so that should have made it blow up too.
the orchid station is so far below ground I don't know how the thing on the guy's arm could transmit a signal out of there.
they could have put the guy into the time machine to try to stop the transmission.

What a fantastic Season Finale - surely the greatest ever Lost episode(s). Loved the disappearing Island, wasn't it sad & frustrating to see Juliet get left behind.
Where any of the known characters on the last raft to the freighter with the scientist guy? I wonder where they ended up.
Great to see Desmond get off the island, he's a cool character I hope he's around next Season even though they made it sound as though they don't need him to get back to the island.
And Jin, finally a character death (or is he?) I cared about. Liking the new strong Sun in the flashforwards - I wonder what she has planned for Jim Robi...Charles Widmore .
Completely bonkers but very well done.

I didn't recognize anyone on the last raft trip.
Remember at the end of Desmond's episode, the scientist looks down at his notebook and it says that Desmond is his "constant". That makes me think there is still more to that storyline where he has to seek out Desmond for help.

'Lost' producers drop hints about next season
Viewers watching the start of the next season of "Lost" will not initially know when or where the action is set. Producers will shake up the flashback/flashforward formula. The anonymous other Lost survivors on the Zodiac raft with Daniel Faraday will probably not survive.
Annnnd…that’s about it.
The Comic-Con "Lost" panel was very entertaining, despite being, as is necessary, light on spoilers. Executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse know better than anybody on the TV side how to play with the event’s panel format. There are videos screened for the occasion, surprise guests (Matthew Fox) and humorous prizes for fans asking questions.
Still, there were some tantalizing details for Losties.
On the flashbacks/flashforwards: "We have something new this year," Cuse says, "we’re going to mix it up."
But the shows will still transition to ... somewhere/sometime ... presumably.
They don't want the person who does the "whooshing" sound not to be employed, Lindelof jokes.
"The flash forwards were a bit limiting [last season] because we could only focus on the Oceanic Six, because we didn’t want to reveal other things -- like Desmond getting off the island," Lindelof says. "When season five starts, you won’t know when or where you are, and the way we tell stories will be different too."
Hmm ... what could the flashes be? Simply a combination of forwards and backwards? Showing daydreams? Night terrors? Hallucinations caused by ingesting Dharma Initiative shrooms?
Back to the fan questions: Is the seemingly immortal Richard Alpert the inspiration for the four-toed statue?
"You’re going to see him barefoot in the very near future – and that’s a pun – in the very near future," Lindelof says.
Other bits: When Desmond turned the key and everything turned purple at the end of season two, did the island jump? No, say the producers. Will Daniel Faraday and the random others Oceanic survivors on the Zodiac raft survive last season's finale? Faraday did, but as for the others ... "there's a monsoon coming," Cuse says.
Oh, and the dog, Vincent? "It’s safe to say that Vincent is going to make it to the very end of the show."

lol i think it's safe to say that the first five or so episodes next season will make no sense whatsoever :D
I mean, it would seem to me that they are in a hole. Juliet, Sawyer, and Claire are the only main characters still on the island. Who knows what crazy shit will go down?
