How would the show have gone.
I think the Brandon/Kelly/Dylan/Brenda quadrangle would have been has juicy as the brenda/dylan/kelly triangle.
Kelly and Brandon returning as couple while Dylan and Brenda as a couple. the fued between the two male best friends and female best friends would have esclated.
Adding Valerie to the mix, I think 90210 could have turned into one juicy soap.
say what you want, but after brenda leaves, the show is never the same.
for instance season 5 starts with Dylan Drunk all of the sudden, and lots of underdevelopped new characters and plots.
I have to re-watch the season 5 premiere to see why dylan went back to the bottle in season 5.

In the season four finale, the mother of Dylan's step sister and her boyfriend stole all of Dylan's money, which was why he started drinking.
I think they should have done whatever they could to get Brenda to stay or at least given Tiffani Amber-Theissen the second billing instead of Jennie Garth.

They fired Doherty, shame on them. :( I agree, the show was never the same without Brenda. I also hate how everyone when the show aired hated Brenda and on the show how she's made to be the bad guy! The poor girl is so nice to everyone, yet she's the one constantly getting screwed over.
Here Brandon can do whatever he wants and Jim and Cindy consider him the good child, but Brenda gets a little lovestruck and she's a difficult, troubled ho. Even her friends don't stand by her like they should. It makes me sick, but I love to watch! :p
I can't wait to see the Val years, because this is when I tuned out originally. I've never seen most of it. The day I became a regular viewer was Valerie's very last episode. I also hate that Dylan and Andrea will be leaving soon. Man oh man what will I do?!
Andrea had *so* much potential, but they keep wasting it. Why put her with Jesse (and Brandon with Kelly) when ANDREA could rock either Brandon or Steve's world? It makes no sense to me, especially since they put Steve with Janet who was like Andrea: Part Two.

Janet was more like Big Bore: Part One than Andrea: Part Two IMO. :D
Anyway, Steve didn't deserve Andrea, she was way too smart for him. I think that if Brenda had stayed, Valerie would never have been introduced and the show would have gone a completely different way. After all these years, I still don't understand why everyone (the audience, not the characters) disliked Brenda so much. From what I remember, she was nowhere near as bit.chy as Valerie or Gina (poor Vanessa Marcil, whose talents were so wasted on the Valerie: Part Two character).

I think the "I hate Brenda fan club" were stupid. Brenda was the only character that a lot of teens could relate to.
She was the average high school student, unlike the other characters who fit into a cliche image of high school kids, from the beginning, her long envy of Kelly to her ups and downs with Dylan,
she made the show work.

By the way Romain, any ideas of Desperate Housewives being aired in France in the next couple of months, or it's another 2-3 years wait, I think the channels will fight over who get the hit. I just can't wait to read the cheesy title "Voisines Dangeureuses"

Off-topic: Desperate Housewives actually starts airing commercial-free over here on September 8th. It is part of paychannel Canal+'s fall schedule and in December, M6 will also start airing it for those of us who do not suscribe to Canal+. There has probably been a battle of the channels over it but I'm glad it didn't go to France 2 because that channel has no idea whatsoever of successful series programming. The wonderful Everwood, Gilmore Girls and Six Feet Under are all major flops over here because of the random airing times that the channel picked. Can you believe that Six Feet Under airs between 1 and 2 AM on Thursday nights? Unbelievable!
I really hope that DH turns out to be a major hit over here, Lost premiered last Saturday and was very successful, so let's hope that ABC's other 2004-2005 hit also seduced the French public (I'm pretty sure it will though, since Teri Hatcher and Marcia Cross remain very popular among French fans of Lois and Clark and Melrose Place). As far as I know, DH's title will remain unchanged, even though in French Canada, the show is called Beautés Désespérées (LOL that sounds so ridiculous).

you guys don't have to worry about off topic in this forum, I really don't care if we talk about subjects from is pluto a planet to Bewitched. As long as there's no profanity or catfights.
back to DH in France
You're kidding, who watches tv at 1 am.
I looked at TF1 lineup when I was in France three months ago and what a disappointment, it used to be my favorite channel. One afternoon, I watched young and restless and after it was over, I was hoping/dreaming for Cote Ouest to follow.
I remember Canal +, it was that blurry channel that was a paying channel where all the cool movies used to air :)
I thought France 3 was going to get the show, most CBS shows ended up on TF1 while most ABC ended up on France 3 or a popular network like TF1.
Do most people even have cable, It seems that lots of countries have now taken the American Television system of discarding free national tv for paying cable TV.
While a lot of those M6 nightly movie seem to be taken from the Lifetime channel.
Actually, I like the title used in Quebec. I still think that there should translate the title, though cheesy most of the times, they can be quite catchy and creative.
For instance, I think Cote Ouest was such a creative title to give to the show as opposed to keeping Knots Landing. It would be hard for viewers to pronouce it smoothly.
Who knows maybe there will be a cute theme song like Cote Ouest :)
But I think it's amazing that it would premiere in september, I know it's going to be a hit attracting a bigger audience that bored housewives.

hey guys, can I ask you a question about Beverly Hills 90210?
I've browsed the episode summaries I could find but
there is an information I cannot find.
At some point (maybe end of series 6), Kelly is
inspired by the newsthat dylan and Brenda are living
together in Europe and asks Brandon to give another
shot to their relationship.
OK, but what happens to Dylan and brenda then? How do
they break up? do we have any information about
Brenda's situation at the end of the whole series?
Thanks,
Miriam
