CATS EYES was a spin-off from THE GENTLE TOUCH with Jill Gascoine continuing her role as Det. Insp. Maggie Forbes. Maggie was transferred from her "patch" to work for C.A.T.S. - Covert Activities Thames Section, a special Home Office task force operating under the cover of the Eyes Enquiries Agency.

The series also starred a young Leslie Ash as computer expert Frederica "Fred" Smith and Roslyn Landor as Oxford-educated Pru Standfast. Later, Landor left the series and was replaced by Tracy-Louise Ward as Tessa Robinson.

C.A.T.S. EYES lasted for three series, between 1985 and 1987.
