season 5 Vs Season 3, which one was the best

I hadn't watched season 5 for over 7 years and I forgot how good it was.

Season 5 was just perfect from beginning to end, I don't know but after the disappointing season 4, writers came back with awesome plots, and actors with energy.

Everything is just perfect.

So was season 3, famously known as the best season of Melrose Place.

Which one do you think is better, if you had a choice.

For me, I don't know.

i think season 3 was better, because we still had Jo, and we didn't have an overload of worthless characters and in season 5 all the best characters were leaving.

I'd have to say that season 3 was the best. After all it was the start of Kimberly going wacko.

Season five because it was gripping from beginning to end. There was no filler and the new additions like Lisa Rinna were fab.

I missed Jo from season 5.

Both seasons were great. The addition of Kyle, Taylor, Jennifer, etc. is not a bad thing.

I liked season 3 much better than season 5. Like jake, I missed Jo in season 5 and that was the year where they killed off both Kimberly and Sydney, which is a big No No in my book.

With Kimberly and Sydney, their deaths didn't upset me, mainly because they were good and the actors weren't coming back. Would you guys rather they get a boring exit like Jo? I'm glad both fiery redheads went out with a bang. I especially liked Kimberly's heartfelt exit and I think she truly came full circle by the end of her time on the show.

I also didn't miss Jo, mainly because her character was so ruined in season 4.

Season 2 was my favorite then 3 then 5....Season 5 is constructed a little better than season 3 but season 3 still has all the original cast and some of the best stories (mainly Jo's baby drama).....

Chris - why was Jo ruined in season 4? I thought she was one of the few characters who actually stayed true to her character that season. She was a a good girl who made some bad love choices....and her last story revolved around the guilt of giving up her child...Jane, Richard, Amanda, Billy, Alison, and Kimberly were characters I felt were not wriitten appropriately in season 4......

Definitely season 3. IMO, season 5 of Melrose was like season 6 of Dynasty. It was like a loud "thud" from one season to the next: everything was different, and definitely not better. Melrose really didn't stay good that long at all, though; I liked 2-4 and that's it.

Season 5 has great balance - the stories are paced appropriately and once the stories from season 4 are completed, the show has good, somewhat reality (well, for MP) based writing. It reminds me a little of season 2 - my favorite season.

Season 3 is still my second favorite season but some of the problems that are so apparent in season 4 (pointless stories, shock scenes that fall flat) start to occur in season 3. Amanda having cancer, for like three shows, Jake/Jane's two second dating, and Jo/Jessie pairing are some examples. BUT - I still think season 3 is great because we have the original characters and much of the season is well-done (Jo's baby drama, Sydney/the cult, Kimberly's madness, Alison's drinking, Amanda's fall then rise at D&D).....

both seasons were awesome, but the worse thing of season 5 i must say that was Kimberly's death.

I agree it was kimberly's death that bought the show down i think it was better with the original cast but season3 and 4 i liked alot aswell i thought season 5 was great but still really said that we lost kimberly and syd in the same year more kimberly thought she maid that show just like amanda did.
