What was your favourite SONS AND DAUGHTERS end-of-year cliffhanger?

Details below:

1982 season, episode 174: David stops Patricia from going to John and Angela's 21st birthday party at the Palmers' house, and Patricia reveals that David isn't the twins' father.

1983 season, episode 352: The Woombai siege. David and Beryl are held at gunpoint by escaped criminal Joe Parker.

1984 season, episode 528: A sedated, helpless Patricia is lying on the operating table, about to be operated on by murderous surgeon Dr. Ross Newman.

1985 season, episode 696: Beryl is terrified when her boyfriend Rod Campbell's nutty housekeeper Doris Hudson throws her out of the Palmer house and tries to smother baby Robert, whilst James and Alison are involved in a plane crash as they rush to stop Wayne and Mary from getting (incestuously) married.

1986 season, episode 868: Alison is locked in a room with a poisonous snake, while a trip on a yacht ends in danger when both Tick and Glen are wounded, and Wayne, swimming for help, is pursued by a shark.

The thing about 's and d' is when it was first shown in the UK it was shown non stop - and didnt go off screen for a few months when it was the season finale as it did when first shown in australia -

so the season end cliffhangers didnt really seem much different from any other episode - apart from the next episode (being the first in the new season) was full of re caps for the first part.

From looking at the list of options i would say that the 1984 cliffhanger was the best -

cos at this point 's and d' would have been one of aussie tv's hottest primetime shows with australia's biggest star of that moment - Rowena Wallace as superbitch Patricia helpless at the hands of a psycho surgeon -

but i didnt see that episode myself - so i'll go with the 1986 finale with Patricia/Alison locked in the Hamilton house study (while trying to steal something from the safe) with a poisonous snake and Wayne attacked by the shark with Tick wounded and Glen swimming to mainland for help - which is how it ended.

Of course we should have known that it would take more than a poisonous snake to put an end to Pat the rat/Alison as when the next season/episode resumed she was shaved by the gorgeous dr michael benson - and this has brought great memories back as i loved that character. he was a good guy - one of the few in 's and d'!

I picked 1983 the Woombia seige. I think this was S&D at its peak, a great suspenseful cliffhanger and even though Beryl shouts out Davids name after the shots were fired you syill wern't sure who had actually been shot. This was definately S&D at its best !

Interesting. They never used the episodes mentioned above as a cliffhanger for Dutch/Belgium television. They just stopped during the summer season, no matter what episode.
These are the ones I remember:
There was a party at the Hamilton House and Beryl called because she was about to have a baby and she needed David (who was also with the Hamiltons)
Of course it was Patricia who answered the phone and she just hang up, pretending she couldn't hear Beryl.
Another one was when she and Wayne were plotting one of their dirtiest schemes and she said: "And the hell with the consequenses!"
I don't even remember what happened after that but I'm sure they have caused a lot of trouble.

I remember the last few episodes,'cos i'd just moved in with a girl who watched it (whom I later married), hadn't Wayne gone potty or was it his young wife?
I know she drove a beautiful red Alfasud 1.5 Ti and it was found abandoned somewhere.
