Barnes/Wentworth, Next day
Jim: Jamie, could you type these up?
Jamie: Certainly, what are they?
Jim: Oh, just some papers
Jamie: How's Cliff?
Jim: He should be all right, he's recovering.
Jamie: That's good.
Jim: Thank you for coming in today
Jamie: Well, we hadn't done any business in two days
Jim: Well, I heard about yours and Cliff's fight the other day. Afton told me about it, I guess Cliff told her.
Jamie: How does Afton put up with Cliff?
Jim: Haha, your guess is good as mine, but he has changed quite a bit. He does have a daughter now, who's married to JR's son, what a couple.
Jamie: Yes, haha, that's quite a couple, Ewings and Barnes' I guess get together a lot.
Jim: Well, I'm a Barnes, kind of
Jamie: Have you ever been with a Ewing?
Jim: Well, funny you mention that, I was kind of once
Jamie: Really?
Jim: Lucy, you remember, Jock's granddaughter
Jamie: Yes, we met, you guys were together once?
Jim: No, we kinda made out in the hayloft at the Ewing Bar-B-Que in 1978. Not sure how far it would've gone, but Uncle Digger was drunk and was making an ass of himself, so I had to drive him home. Besides that, it was nothing serious. I drove her to secretly see her mama Valene for awhile, because JR I guess would've had somebody murdered if he found out.
Jamie: Good ole JR. But yes, I remember hearing about that time at the Bar-B-Que, before Cliff and I were married, we had some good times just sitting and talking. Kind of like this.
Jim: What happened after you were married?
Jamie: Well, we drifted, he was his usual bullheaded self. He wanted to get it annulled, I could tell.
Jim: How did you know?
Jamie: Well, he gave me some **** and bull story about getting a vasectomy once, because of that neuro-whatever illness.
Jim: Well, I think you know, Cliff has changed.
Jamie: I know, but I have no interest in him whatsoever, after all, he is married.
Jim: To you
Jamie: That's true, I keep forgetting that.
Jim: What are you gonna do about that?
Jamie: I plan on getting something settled with him soon.
Jim: After he gets out, right?
Jamie: That's what I plan on
Jim: Say..I haven't had this nice of a conversation in a long time with a woman. Whaddya say we, have dinner?
Jamie: Where at?
Jim: Hmmm, how bout the Palms?
Jamie: Sounds like a date <smiles>
Southfork Ranch, daytime
Jane: Mr. JR, this man asks to see you.
Man: JR Ewing?
JR: Yes sir.
Man: Detective Joe Katz is the name, Braddock Police Department.
JR: What can I do for you?
Joe: Need to take you to the station, need to ask you a few questions.
JR: Oh?
Joe: Yes, about the shooting of Cliff Barnes.
JR: Ok, I'll go, I'll answer your questions, but I'm telling you, I'm innocent!
Joe: Just a few questions.
Ewing Oil, Sue Ellen's office
<knocks>
Sue Ellen: Come in!
John Ross: Hi mom
Sue Ellen: Oh, hello John Ross, good to see you!
John Ross: I hope you haven't minded me staying away, Becca's needed me
Sue Ellen: Not a problem
John Ross: I did get some bad news though
Sue Ellen: What's that?
John Ross: Dad's been picked up by the police, they wanna ask him some questions.
Sue Ellen: Now, as bad as you dad is, I don't think he'd wanna kill Cliff Barnes, but any idiot knows he'd be on a suspect list.
John Ross: Of course, I was the first to warn him!
Sue Ellen: I don't think we have anything to worry about honestly, I hope your dad tells the truth at least, and if he knows anything he'll tell them.
John Ross: I think he is innocent, he even hired a private detective to find out about it.
Sue Ellen: Hmm, maybe he is then.
Dallas Memorial Hospital, Cliff's room
<Cliff wakes up, and sees Pam next to his bed>
Cliff: PAM?!
Pam: Shhhh, take it easy.
Cliff: Is it really you?
Pam: Yes, yes. I was in Houston, I heard about it, and I couldn't leave you this time. I had to come back.
Cliff: Oh it's so nice to see you! Are you staying for good?
Pam: Yes, I think I will.
Cliff: Have you seen Christopher?
Pam: Yes, that didn't go so well. Reminded me of how you were against mama at first
Cliff: He'll come around. Have you seen Afton and my daughter named Pamela?
Pam: Haha, yes, I saw them both. Pamela, or should I say, Becca, seems like a fine young lady.
Cliff: Even if she is married to a Ewing
Pam: I'm married too
Cliff: What?!
Pam: Yes, you know him, you remember Mark Graison
Cliff: Oh yes, a fine man. I'm glad you married him. Where have you been living?
Pam: Hong Kong, I found Mark there finally, and we got married 14 years ago.
Cliff: That's great, and I'm sure you saw little Jimmy's back?
Pam: I did, I'm glad, is he living with you?
Cliff: Right now, yes, he owns Barnes/Wentworth, this time HE bailed me out or something
Pam: Same ole Cliff, but I'm glad he got you out of whatever you were in.
Cliff: Pam, I want to ask you a favor.
Pam: Sure
Cliff: I want you to control my assets until I get out. I want to sign you as the power of attorney.
Pam: Sounds easy enough.
Cliff: I'm sure you know, I'm the co-CEO of Westar with Carter McKay, you're a fine business woman so I'm sure you can do the job.
Braddock Police Department
Joe: Now, according to a witness, we know how you felt about Mr. Barnes
JR: Everyone knows that
Joe: Well, this person says you just about threatened to have his daughter off the ranch by sun up at one point.
JR: And who is this person?
Joe: I'll bring her in.
<walks out, JR waits, Joe walks back in with the witness>
Belle: Hi JR
JR: Belle!
Joe: Belle tells me that you threatened the Barnes' many times over the past few weeks.
JR: She's lying.
Joe: It wasn't just her that got us thinking you were involved.
<Holds up a bag with a gun>
Joe: Recognize this?
JR: That's my daddy's gun, now my gun!
Joe: That's right, and it was found near the Barnes mansion, not only that, the bullets match the gun. Your time is up JR, you're under arrest for the attempted murder of Cliff Barnes!
<starts reading him his rights, as we fade out>

<knocks>
<Holds up a bag with a gun>
