Not sure if this has been asked before, but here goes.

Why was Clayton Farlow written out of the Dallas The Legacy series? Thus making Miss Ellie a widow for the 2nd time. Howard Keel, the actor who portrayed him on the real life tv series is still alive and 85 years old.

I was just wondering if this was done because Keel didn't want to lend his name to Dallas The Legacy, or what???

By the way, I love the new opening credits and episode 18, can't wait for episode 19 to be posted.

The original writer wanted to focus on the core Dallas cast from the start with an emphasis on nostaligia and at the same time take the series forward.

For this to work Ellie would be widowed thus allowing more nostalgia regarding her time with Jock and putting her back at the helm as the single family matriarch.
But the series has totally changed from the original mini series

I miss Clayton, but he would not fit in with this generation very well. Hope he, not Howard Keel, passed in peace. (Not that I wish Howard Keel to not pass in peace. LOL)
