These 3 characters are Sumner Group employees who spend much of the next season hiding in the background doing their work quietly when suddenly, a storm errupts involving each of them sending shockwaves through TSG and paving the way for a shocking entrance in the form of new management!!!

The characters in question are portrayed quite deliberatly as office 'dorks'. I use the word 'deliberatly' because I wanted these characters to be taken advantage of by a certain Knots regular in order that the audience would empathise with their situation even more and truly HATE the character behind the manipulation.

As for the actors, I was delighted at the names forwarded to me from various forum regulars who seemed to recall every dorky office worker from LA Law to Ally McBeal. The 3 I finally settled on were:

Valerie Landsburg - Doris from 'Fame' who plays Gloria. I distinctly recall Landsburg speaking 'through her nose' and thought she'd be perfect for the role.

Maggie Wheeler - Janice from 'Friends' who also speaks as though she has a cold. I can hear Wheeler's infectious laugh circulating round TSG offices. Wheeler 'plays' Angeline.

James Michael Tyler - Gunther from 'Friends' plays Bradley. The office worker with no backbone but a heart of gold.

It's perhaps a little easier now to understand how a certain evil regular tries to take advantage of these 3 - hopefully they will become firm favourites of the FKL audience...

I'm glad you approve Niamh. To be honest though, I think they should be grateful for the exposure since I've not seen Valerie Landsburg do much since 'Fame' ended and James Michael Tyler very rarely speaks on 'Friends'...

I haven't heard anyone mention Doris from Fame in years. As a teenager I loved Doris. Wonder what the actress behind her is up to now? This sounds like her most high profile role in years.

i love janice from friends and i think that she will make a superb addition to the sumner group workforce. it's to bad that they didn't discover her when knots landing was on television the first time as i would love to have seen her act alongside bob, mort and the gang.

I agree Michael - that would have been wonderful. I always loved those Sumner Group scenes from Seasons 11 & 12 and believed them to be like a soap-within-a-soap. Maggie Wheeler surely would have been a wonderful addition to the cast...

I saw Valerie Landsburg on cable last week during an episode of Fame and I agree that she is perfect for the role of GLoria. I read the first episode again where she is talking to greg about pollution and jogging and think she is definetly the best actress to play the part of Gloria.

Putting actors names to the characters on Fantasy Knots Landing definetely helps as we can put faces to the characters. Theres no doubt that the 3 characters named above will make fine additions to the FKL cast and I love Janice from Friends as well.
