In today's episode, "Paternity Suit," Cliff withdrew his campaign for office. Sue Ellen visited Dusty. Digger told a reporter that Cliff was the father of Sue Ellen's baby. The story made the front page of the paper. The Ewings slapped Cliff with a paternity suit. Cliff initiated a custody suit. J.R. threatened to divorce Sue Ellen. Cliff and J.R. both had blood tests. J.R. turned out to be the real father. J.R. held his son.
