Yep Thats Right Folks, Howard Keel is writing his autobiography, i read it in an article, and its loosley due out "christmas time" but i wouldnt be sure it could be earlier or later.

But how cool is this, he is writing his biography, oh i hope he does a book signing tour like Larry Hagman, what are the chances of a man his age doing this though seriously, if he came to Britian i would have to go and meet him.

Well thats the news, i cant wait, i loved the LH book and im sure the HK will be just as good, its bound to mention Dallas!

Cant Wait!!!!!!!!

Wonder What Will It Be Called????????

If anybody has got more news please let me know, im so pleased to read this!

:-) DJ

PS. Where is clayton's message icon in this forum??? lol

Danny, Howard keel is a lovely man, and I always went to see him with my mum when he appeared in Glasgow and Edinburgh on his UK concert tour.
He gave great value for money, was on stage for over 2 1/2 hours and always towards the end of the show talked of Dallas, being on the set and the different cast members and what they were like.
At the end he always appeared in the foyer so fans could get to meet him and he signed programmes. The last time was 1996 or 97.
His biography should be a good read.
PS HK should have his own icon, more so than some who do!

cool barbaraFan, i wondered if he still did his concerts, he must be about 80 or 81, but i know he still goes on golf tournaments and golf cahrity events so maybe he will come to the UK, i know i would have to meet him if he did.

thanks for replying, he seems like a nice man, u have lots of memories of stuff dont you, your a valid forum member in my opinion!

Next it should be BBG, i asked her to write a biogrpahy in my lttter to her, and on the card she sent me it said "write a book" but i want her to, lol.

Im sure it will be a good read, still cant wait, im suprised as i cant find any info, i think its early days yet...... but its soemthing to look out for!

As for the icons , i completley agree, i mean Kristin and not Clayton?

Mandy Winger and no Clayton?

lol

I was 17, nervous, shaking! totally dumb struck and tongue tied (esp when I saw and got a kiss from Patrick Duffy!! he was my no' 1 pin up!!!)

It was like being in a dream and hard to believe I was actually THERE on the SF SET.

I dont remember all that I asked them. I said to HK that I enjoyed all his musicals from the 50s, and asked him what was happening to Clayton Farlow.
Didn't really get an answer, as no one gave anything away about the plot- I could have been a spy for the Enquirer!!
Also asked if he'd been in touch with BBG, who months earlier had a massive heart attack and was written out of the series until episode 12 to give her a chance to recover.

Susan Howard and Steve Kanaly (I spent a half day filming with SK on HORSEBACK-I've never ridden a horse before!!) were great, very kind. I remember she had a HUGE bible in her trailor!!

I missed seeing KK, who had just left the set as SK gave me a tour of other sets at MGM ie FAME "I wanna live forever!"
Your too young DJ to remember!!!

Linda Gray and Priscilla were kind as was Morgan Brittany, Audrey Landers.

The big thrill was PD and the cast I met, big disappointment no LH, VP or BBG, but you can't have everything in life!!! It was a great week, one I'll never forget.

Sorry BarbaraFan but I had to remove the photo (great pic btw) because it was too large for the forum dimensions.

barbaraFan everytime you tell me about that day it sounds better and better. truly a once in a lifetime opportunity, OK so you missed a few of them but you met LOADS!

Did you have your picture taken with any of the stars? I suppose while you were there you got them to sing you a few photos, lol!

Also to you and everyone, what might HK biography be called? lol, lets all think of possilbe suggestions, how about The Story Of The Singing Cowboy In Dallas!

YEs I got photos taken as the story appeared in the Daily Record and Daily Mirror, BUT...... they lost the negatives in UK (and don't think tried too hard to find them either!) so the only photos were the ones i took out filming with SK and SH. I wasn't allowed to take my camera on the Dallas set (Boo hoo!) That day I went to the beach , got sand in the lens, and it didn't work after that!!

Yes I got lots of signed photos, and the hotel had notepaper which said "My Life is a soap opera!" so they signed that too!!
